The things that drive me crazy about watching the Zips right now are things like lining up offsides, wasting time outs because we don't know what we are doing, 12 men on the field, personal fouls, poor clock management and the like. If these were eliminated, there would be a good chance the Zips win vs. Ohio and Central in spite of the lack of offensive production.
Boy is this the truth. This is why I really hope we get to a bowl game. I hope by getting the extra practices/reps, stuff like this starts to go away.

Haven't looked at one of these in a long time. Reading back through this thread brings up some dark days.

8. UMess (1-7)
This weekend the Minutemen host Akron. No offense to the Zips, but they are merely garnish for the UMass schedule that follows, with a trip to Oopsilanti on Nov. 14 and a visit from My Hammy of Ohio one week later. It's going to be like the three-man staredown at the end of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" if we replaced The Good with something not as good.

I'll predict that one of the guys coming off the bench will start playing well at some point during the season. A ZN member will suggest that the player should be starting. A ZN member will argue that it doesn't matter who starts, and that player provides a spark off the bench. He will probably cite some sixth man of the year stat. Another ZN member will argue that if that player starts, he would score more points to help the team. Another ZN member will argue that even if he starts he isn't going to get anymore minutes.

There is more to the upgrade than a coat of paint. The current upper tier chair backs will be moved to the other side. New chair backs in the north end to form a student section complete with a concession stand. The west side will get new chair backs rising higher and covering half the track which will be eliminated. The center scoreboard will be replaced with a modern all graphic design. Two corners will get data scoreboards with game statistics such as player stats. The south end will be gutted and replaced with an extended Tommy Evans lounge with seating facing the court. Tommy Evans will get upgraded food services and entry will be by large donation same as now. At court level there will be an atrium that runs up through the new lounge. There will be chair back seating. The expected capacity is approximately 5,000. This modernization is a five to seven year stop gap to buy time for raising funds to build a new arena.
Sounds great. Does anyone know the budget?

The faces of heroin include the young, middle-to-upper class and suburban. What was once thought of as an inner-city problem is now a national epidemic. Bill Whitaker reports.

The Minutemen are favored by one and a half.

Also, was Pittman wearing a practice jersey???
Not the same jersey as the rest of the team. Seen here.
Everyone that sat by me all yelled that he lined up off sides.

The BG Machine is rolling in Portage county. I have to turn it off, I can't listen to the announcer explain what a zone read is anymore in my life.

Falcons vs Golden Flashes Football Preview: Talkin' sMACk
The high-flying Bowling Green Falcons travel to Dix Stadium to take on the Can't State Golden Flashes on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons have the highest scoring offense in MAC play, averaging 49.7 per game. The Flashes are ranked second in the MAC in scoring defense, only giving up 20.7 points per game. So something has to give.

Hopefully, Akron can capitalize on these opportunities.
New opportunities arise all the time.

“They’re going to call them from Game 1 to the end of the season,” he said. “I know that to be the truth, so we’re going to have to do a good job making sure we don’t foul because that is the great equalizer in the game.”
Put an emphasis on making free throws. Beat em at the line.

MAC Conference Play 2015
in Akron Zips Football

They play like they did against the Zips, I don't see them losing to another team. I'm looking forward to seeing how Toledo defends BG's offense on 11/17.
