Charlie Frye working for the Florida Gators. Nice story by Marla in the ABJ.
Frye wanted more, so he started his own consulting business, Frye Football. This summer he met new University of Florida coach Jim McElwain, the former Colorado State coach and Alabama offensive coordinator. Frye left the Zips’ game at halftime to catch a flight back to Gainesville, Fla., where the Gators host Florida State Saturday night. Frye helps with quarterbacks, especially their “mental conditioning,” along with player development work involving local charities. McElwain tweeted his congratulations to Frye along with the hashtag “IWantABobbleheadPlease.”
If it hasn't been mentioned before, one of the most impressive things to watch yesterday was Zach Paul hitting back to back (due to offsetting penalties) rugby-style punts to the goal-line late in the game. Both punts were perfect, but the second one was amazing to watch hit, spin, and stick right at the goal-line. Awesome. It was great to see players off the bench come out to congratulate the special teams. This team really seems to have fun with each other.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college/college-gridiron-365/os-2015-college-football-bowl-projections-htmlstory.html They have us in the St Pete bowl against Cincy
Not as good as the Boca Raton destination for me, but I would make St Pete work. If it's the Bahamas bowl, I'll be steaming it from the beach in Miami.

The Wagon Wheel gets a mention on College Game Day but nothing about the outcome.
I was watching a recording of Sports Zone last night and Bernie Kosar gave a shout out congratulating coach Bowden. I thought it was cool that he was aware of the Zips achievements this season.

Was waiting for this thread since I missed the game. Awesome stuff as always.
Thanks for the kind words.
More photos here, including some locker room stuff from go zips dot com.

Asked what bowl game he wanted to play in, Grice said, "I ain't going to lie. I would love to go to the Bahamas." source
For those of you considering the trip, here is some info on the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl.

Weather dot com now reads:

Blue Jackets getting recognized for their game day posters.
One of the coolest developments of the current hockey season has been a new initiative by the Columbus Blue Jackets, who've been promoting their home games with a series of sensational game-day posters.
Not on the same talent level as Cleveland artist Derek Hess, but Anthony's work (concept) reminds me a little of it.

Forecast is for all rain.
Currently weather dot com is reading "Cloudy with occasional rain in the afternoon"

Hopefully these fall under what coaches/ and some fans so often refer to as "good losses" and they can rebound against Charleston Southern
I don't think anyone would categorize last night as a good loss. Being back in Ohio for a week will recharge the batteries.
-
How in the world did Buffalo thump Ohio?
Defense. They scored twice on interception returns.
-
Forget about the "fatigue" crap. It's early in the season, and 3 games in 8 days. Nobody mentioned fatigue when we were winning 3 games in 4 days in March
I would guess travel has as much, if not more, to do with fatigue.
-
Can someone forward this to the staff for at least a look-see?
Coach Stroud is the recruiting coordinator and can be emailed at stroud@uakron.edu. If I had to guess, pad level is probably the answer to your first question.

EA of the PD writes, Injuries Mount as Zips Keep Traveling.
When will Noah be ready? "Who knows,'' Dambrot said. "He'll play when he's ready to play.''
What about Pat? "We've had X-rays, but we still don't know if he's got a broken rib or not,'' Dambrot said. "But he is still in pain."
How about Jimond? "He's not quite ready yet, but he still may play, although I doubt it,'' Dambrot said of Ivey.
All this, and the Zips are still favored by four. Game is on ESPN3 at 8 pm. Free stream found at go zips dot com.
Congratulations to Antino, MAC East Player of the Week!

Winners announced Saturday morning. Congratulations to last weeks winners, zippyfan34, and CK.
-
Most importantly, when is the 3 for Wednesday(?!?) being posted?
Yes, Three for Thursday will have a special Wednesday appearance due to the early game. Stay tuned...
-
By the way Keith commented about Jake's situation, it seemed like something that the were well aware of, and may be something that has occurred several times before?
Marla Ridenour article in the ABJ from March 7, 2013 entitled 'Zips freshman Jake Kretzer dealing with rapid heart rate scare'
Get well Jake.
-
The Senior Class will be honored during a pregame ceremony.
Former Zips' QB Charlie Frye (2001-04) will be inducted into the Ring of Honor.

I hope the forecast changes. Is playing in the rain becoming an advantage for the Zips because of experience? Maybe we can play in the Rain-X Bowl.

Thanks for the information, I'm in South Beach for the week. I would guess a $73 ferry to the Bahamas would logistically be doable. Hectic day though. Let's keep hoping for the Boca Raton Bowl.
