  1. I'm hoping for a long shot with the Boca Raton Bowl. I live about 20 minutes from there. I'm expecting the Bahamas unfortunately. It's doable as far as transportation. There's a ferry from Fort Lauderdale (about 40 minutes away), but I don't have a passport. What a stupid place for a bowl game!

Thanks for the information, I'm in South Beach for the week. I would guess a $73 ferry to the Bahamas would logistically be doable. Hectic day though. Let's keep hoping for the Boca Raton Bowl.

  2. Charlie Frye working for the Florida Gators. Nice story by Marla in the ABJ.

Frye wanted more, so he started his own consulting business, Frye Football. This summer he met new University of Florida coach Jim McElwain, the former Colorado State coach and Alabama offensive coordinator. Frye left the Zips’ game at halftime to catch a flight back to Gainesville, Fla., where the Gators host Florida State Saturday night. Frye helps with quarterbacks, especially their “mental conditioning,” along with player development work involving local charities. McElwain tweeted his congratulations to Frye along with the hashtag “IWantABobbleheadPlease.”

If it hasn't been mentioned before, one of the most impressive things to watch yesterday was Zach Paul hitting back to back (due to offsetting penalties) rugby-style punts to the goal-line late in the game. Both punts were perfect, but the second one was amazing to watch hit, spin, and stick right at the goal-line. Awesome. It was great to see players off the bench come out to congratulate the special teams. This team really seems to have fun with each other.

  6. EA of the PD writes, Injuries Mount as Zips Keep Traveling.

When will Noah be ready? "Who knows,'' Dambrot said. "He'll play when he's ready to play.''

What about Pat? "We've had X-rays, but we still don't know if he's got a broken rib or not,'' Dambrot said. "But he is still in pain."

How about Jimond? "He's not quite ready yet, but he still may play, although I doubt it,'' Dambrot said of Ivey.

All this, and the Zips are still favored by four. Game is on ESPN3 at 8 pm. Free stream found at go zips dot com.

Congratulations to Antino, MAC East Player of the Week!
