It's over in less than 30 hours, Stanford knocks out the last billion dollar player.
Edit: Not so according to this. 20 out of 20 at the time of this post.

The "Like" button is still not working for me!
Sorry, there is not an option to turn it "on" in our current software package. I would remove it if I could so as to not confuse.

I'd be willing to trade 10 seasons of mediocrity for one season of glory as long as you were the one sitting through 10 seasons of mediocre performance and not me.
Deal. I sat through the last 10 years of mediocrity, what's 10 more. I hear the older you get, the faster time goes anyway.

Dr. Z, I was just eliminated with the loss of Duke. Batting 100% until duke. Can we draw duke again in the Tourney please?
Great run. I loved Mercer +13
If NC can win by 4 tonight, I'll have monster day. I still remember when that little squirt Boykins took it to Duke in 96......ahhhhh someday.

Doesn't really matter as it's a red herring argument to debate trading things you have no control over trading.
Have you ever rooted for a major sports franchise (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL) that has won it all in the last 40 years?
-
Actually the odds are better than a quintillion. The quintillion calculation is based on if you randomly picked the teams. With a little bit of basketball knowledge it's in the billions. (IE, 1 seeds over 16 seeds...etc).
I would guess by now, or by Sunday night, everybody that entered is eliminated. I would expect a news story with more publicity about it on Monday.

Would you trade 10 years of mediocrity in football for one big bowl game?
Seriously? Hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of question is that?
-
Does Vegas lay odds on this appointment? I could make a lot of money!
No, but don't let that stop you. Zipmeister might still take some action (from Aug 2013)?

Mercer making a run at Duke. 63-63 2:05 left.

Nice interview.
Will be interesting what his 40 time is today, and what teams are there. I have always thought this might be true, cool to see an athlete say it.
PennLive: You always hear if you can play in the NFL, the league will find you. Coming from a MAC school, do you think that’s true or false statement?
Holmes: I think that’s more true than anything. A lot of guys think the bigger schools is the route to go. But in the NFL it doesn’t matter. You can go to any school and shine. In fact, I believe it hurts you at times being at a bigger school because you can’t shine as much as you can at a smaller school. MAC school, Division II or III, it doesn’t matter. If you stand out they will find you.

We know that small schools with limited resources occasionally stumble on the winning formula and outperform bigger schools with more resources. The question is whether or not it's sustainable. Florida Gulf Coast did it last season and fell off this season. Where will they be next season and the season after? IPFW has had one good season. What will their record be over the next decade? There are short-term fixes that might get you a bump up for a season or two only to land you back in mediocrity. Whatever approach UA takes, I want it to be sustainable.
Not me! Give me ONE good season. I want an NCAA ride like Ken+ fans got. I don't give a crap about sustainablity. Sustainable? Give me just one ride in the NCAA tournament! I swear I thought the time was going to be Zeke's senior year. I still feel like we missed the boat. Sustainable? I don't get. I guess it's a relative term, but I have to be misunderstanding. I would trade 10 years of mediocrity for ONE ride in the tournament.

if TB is here in 10 years still cannot win a bowl game, will you be happy?
Absolutely not. Love TB, but if he can't get it done, bring on somebody that will. I root for the Zips, not the coach. I know a few fans of Lee Owens that rooted harder for him, than they did the team. Never understood it. Lee could do no wrong. Lee had a plan. Trust in Lee...

I love it. The President picked Akron to beat Purdue
Barack-etology: Women's BracketPresident Barack Obama joins Rebecca Lobo to make his picks for the 2014 women's NCAA bracket.

I for one would love to see us in the A-10 for basketball. We'd be a decent fit, and they play some good ball.
I am all for watching some good ball at the JAR, I have sat through some lousy games over the past decade. I just wish the MAC was a good basketball conference the way it used to be. That's probably a more realalistic "wish." I wonder what the Zips record would be in the A-10 this year?

Love the use of image and text. Good design, and creative. You don't see this too much in newsprint anymore...minus NY Post.
-
it is not going to happen in the MAC I can tell you that
Pretend basketball were the only sport at Akron. What conference do you see us moving to?
PS When I read your cut and paste bio of KD from gozips.com, it made me think of Marvin Lewis.

NC state's epic meltdown is the only thing between me and my billion dollars
Crazy game, sucks for you. Nice calls on the Dayton, Harvard, and ND state. Games were awesome yesterday. Didn't like any lines yesterday, but lots of good betting games today IMO. How awesome is it to be able to watch 4 games at once? Sports heaven. Love, love, love the NCAA tourney. The older I get, the less I like the SB, and the more I like the tourney. Way more bang for your buck...action packed. Only one thing missing. Good luck to everyone today on their brackets. Go Shaka, beat them Lumberjacks! Next year, I'll start a ZipsNation group on ESPN.com.

win an NCAA tournament game, like OU, Ken+, Miami, EMU...how hard is that?...especially with the competition in our conference recently. Not picking on you but what does thinking bigger mean to you?

Rick Pitino unhappy because he has to coach against a former assistant in the first round. Great idea Rick, they should have made that a rule last year, I'm sure that should be the first thing on a committee's mind - he said maybe they were a bunch of soccer AD's. God, that guy whines.
I agree with him. I didn't like the matchup against Shaka either, but my quotes didn't make ESPN.com.
Watch Dr. Z...The oranges will put WMU like we SHOULD have done.
No doubt. Love the zone D. I have said it for years, I would absolutely run the zone at UA. Been saying it for more than a decade.

Senior point guard Kacie Cassell triggers the Akron Zips women's basketball team
The 5-3 Cassell led the nation in assists as a junior with 259. And she led the MAC in assists this season, now at 202 and counting for a team that averages a whopping 82.8 points a game.

OSU losses to Dayton
I sure like to watch Craft play, it's a shame he is out of the tourney. Dayton fought hard and hit free throws.
Would it not be odd to see WMU/Cuse 17-34 at half?

Western starting off the same way they did against the Zips.

I am very impressed that you know everybody and their qualifications to discount them at this juncture.
