  1. Maybe he and TB could have lunch next offseason to talk about it. I wouldn't rule anything out with TB, I always have that statement in the back of my mind, "we need to find a way to win in the MAC."
  2. Great game. Thank you MSU. I love McKinzy's motor, he can play on my D any day. PS Anybody think at the end of the game FSU could have used Moses?
  3. How can all those 4 and 5 star recruits on defense from Columbus play so bad as a team? I'll take the Zip's staff, and recruits over those prima donnas. Sammy Watkins game is going to fit very nicely in the NFL, if he stays out of trouble. If I'm Banner, I give him a long interview. Entertaining game to watch.
  4. Surely you forgot what he said, no? Or are you saying you don't believe him? “The commitment I’ve made to any place I’ve gone is I was going to work every day like I was going to be there forever,” he said. “So my commitment to the University of Akron, I’m going to work like this is the last place I’ll ever work. Beacon Journal Joe Dunn reports James to interview
  5. Better hurry, before Stoops swoops in. All the ten year olds agree...James is the man.
  6. Take the top two receivers (most receptions) in the NFL this year, both from Florida, both played for small schools, one in Ohio, one in Michigan. You can extend it to top four and include one from California who played in Ohio also. Two out of those four played in the MAC. All three (and top four) of those STILL play for cold weather teams...and led the league. PS When you look up who led the league in receptions, you are going to be surprised.
  7. I'm sad that you have to type that, but I understand why you do.
  8. Someone shorter than KD? Image from @ZipsDan
  9. If you don't know this story about AJ, it's worth seven minutes of your life.
  10. Here are some images I shot last night. Enjoy.
  11. While he is at it, can he add layups? Only I can miss layups the way he does. He actually passes out of layup situations after missing a few. He has the speed to beat people to the rim, but has a finishing issue. Someone needs to show him the art of a reverse layup, that may increase his confidence. If the Zips team were a video game, and I had 10 units of "health" to distribute to improve the team, I'm not sure I would use one on CB, I would distribute elsewhere. BTW, that is the worst Marshall team that I have watched at the JAR, what happen? They used to have athletes that would shoot the lights out when they played in the MAC. Disappointing. I like the introduction of Akron's own Shawn "Showtime" Porter last night, who knew? He signed autographs after the game, anybody get one?
  12. EA of the PD writes a little on the Akron Marshall game. Keith Dambrot said the biggest challenge right now with the Zips is building team chemistry. That aside, the game should offer a stiff challenge for Akron's defense as Marshall is averaging 84.2 points a game. The Zips inside muscle will have to flex as well, considering the Herd is one of the best rebounding teams in the nation, averaging 39.4 boards per game.
  13. Cool image from the Big House yesterday. Great game! 107 more images here.
  14. Something about pigs?
  15. Incase anybody was wondering if the game would get canceled because of weather, the answer is no (per ticket office). Marshall is in town.
  16. The last time we were favored at home by 10, we pounded Detroit by 19. Anybody that has lost total faith in the Zips can get almost 6:1 odds for Marshall tonight. Another Zips home game, another winter weather advisory for Summit county. Amazingly accurate. Step it up boys!!! :gun:
  17. If you look back on page 15 of this thread I provided a link where Todd McShay has him going #3 overall (on Dec 18th). If he goes higher than that, I will be a tad surprised. Rob Rang writes that Bortles revealed some flaws last night, and his stats are misleading. Have I mentioned recently how much I miss UCF being in the MAC?
  18. That team is VERY thin at RB, could use some depth. I'll agree that Bell continues to get better each week for a runner that has a high center of gravity.
  19. Still love Storm Johnson, hope he has a lousy combine and my nfl team drafts him.
  20. There better be! Back when the mac was a good basketball conference Marshall/Akron games were awesome! I circled this game on my calendar back in August when I found out about it. Step it up boys!!! :gun: Very telling. One of my favorite things about KD is his post game interviews.
  21. Not the league for him, other than the position he held with the Colts, which I still want with any team in the NFL.
  22. I didn't know that at the time. Made for an easy decision. Tailgating on the golf course closed tomorrow.
  23. I remember at the half, the thought crossed my mind to pull him. This game was indicative of his season IMO, he had a rough time going through any progressions. I'm not sure he threw one ball passed 5 yards (maybe one) the first half...first read. His good passes were timing plays down the sideline. He threw great timing passes to LT Smith (why did we not continue this throughout the season). Hopefully he works hard this offseason and knows the playbook inside and out. The more comfortable a QB becomes with the playbook, the more he knows where receivers will be, and he'll find the open one...even if it's not the first one he looks at. Wish the season started tomorrow...when is the last time a Zips fan wrote that in an offseason. I often wonder if our W/L record would have been different than just one if we pulled this game off.
  24. Leave it.
  25. I can't speak for "we", but I think SC is a team that lost to Manhattan and USC Upstate, and got lucky to play an unmotivated Zips team twice, and a bad Marshall team. I don't follow rankings, but I can't believe they are a top 68 team. If the staff can figure out how to get the Zips to play to their potential, we might see SC again in another tournament. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
