  1. All that got them was a seat on the couch to watch 68 teams play in one of the most exciting tournaments in sports. Knowing their goals at the beginning of the season, I'm sure the staff, and team would trade those "above average stats" to play in that tournament. I know most Zips fans would. Stats Shmats, I want to win a game in the tourney now!!! It's time. No excuses. I'm hoping Pat can help them achieve that goal....sooner rather than later.
  2. If the Whiskey "bar" is anything like the Peninsula Lizard, don't get too excited. I've seen better selections at college parties. Delilah's in Chicago has the best Whiskey bar I have been to. Stanley's Kitchen is another good one.
  3. Agreed. Good stuff.
  4. I am going to follow. I'm hoping unlike 99% of tweets, I will learn something of interest. I would guess many here already follow due to your contributions at ZN....that is/was your best promotion. Good luck.
  5. I've never heard of him before, but watched the first episode on hulu at lunch today. The most unhealthy town is Marshall fans. ;-)
  6. This is one group I'll be paying close attention to when I'm at the games. This is supposed to be Chuck's signature position. I'll be watching... The Zips have experience in the area, with expected starts in OLBs Justin March (36 tackles) and Jamar Williams (38 tackles), and MLB Troy Gilmer (71 tackles). The key will be whether or not new defensive coordinator Chuck Amato can maximize their talents.
  7. Nice post ZFP. From one of my favorite new (for me) websites, here is an article on How to Eat Healthy At Chipotle
  8. Rosewood Grill in Hudson, and Blue Canyon's BC Burger in Twinsburg are two local places that do a pretty good job.
  9. Bud Shaw making some points. Anything that debunks the myth of Joe Paterno is fine by me. Tearing the statue down for instance. But the NCAA's decision to revise the one thing we know he was -- a good football coach -- doesn't make sense. He's still the winningest coach in Div. I history in my book. That was fact, not fiction. I'm paraphrasing something I heard on the radio the other day. "I think they should have left the JoPa statue up, but added a phone in his hand like he was calling the police on Sandusky. Then it could have represented what he should have done." --Howard Stern
  10. Jackson State Signs Moore Clayton Moore, a former Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen, who went on to sign with Ole Miss out of Louisville High School, has signed with Jackson State. Moore picked JSU over fellow SWAC member Alcorn State.
  11. Bell's is worth the trip with NO game IMO. I went a few years back before a Boz/Ball game. Good times.
  12. Nice research. My first thought was because #44 was more of a "power back" number, and #7 seems to be a...um, not sure how to describe his new running style in this offense? Scat back? Nah, that's not right, but you know what I mean. Or the single digit makes him look smaller and faster/more conditioned? CK is right, damn you Frenchy, now I'm wondering...
  13. Interesting article. Thanks. "...He (Dambrot) let it slip out that he was closer to taking Duquesne job than most knew"
  14. Ken+, OU, and VCU somehow managed to overcome this. Why can't UA? It will be nice when we don't have to make excuses some day.
  15. Nice interview, good job Steve and Jawon.
  16. Win a game in the NCAA tournament KD. It's time. LBJ leaving Cleveland the way he did may just end up benefiting UA. I think he realizes the way he did it was wrong and helping UA out would be a great PR move. Odd way to look at it, yes, but I still can't help thinking it.
  17. As I stated above Chris Rainey had a pretty successful career at Florida and Sproles at Kansas State. They are pretty much the same size. With the type of offense that the Zips will be running, it might just be beneficial.
  18. LeBron's gmail was hacked, take a look.
  19. Victims? Or the victims? I think you missed Andy's point while you were clearing things up. Sean Lee's mindset is on the victims.
  20. Andy Baskin makes his point I have trouble listening to NCAA President Mark Emmert spit out of both sides of his mouth. You can't impose a $60 million fine on Penn State, and then expect people to respect the NCAA, when you are selling off the new Division I National Championship Game to the highest bidder. This story is not about the NCAA's ego. Does it really matter that the NCAA stripped away Joe Paterno's wins from 1998-to-2011? It's a joke. This story should be about helping victims. Now, it's about the NCAA flexing, saying “Look at us. We are so powerful that we wiped Paterno's records off the face of the earth.” Does stripping Paterno's wins make the pains of the victims go away? The NCAA, once again, made this story about money and power. The victims are, once again, in the background.
  21. ...will continue his college basketball career with the Zips, but must sit out the 2012-13 season under NCAA Division I transfer rules. ...was granted a medical hardship waiver by the Big East for a fifth season of eligibility at WV. That status will not transfer with him to the Zips. ...will be paying for his studies during his initial season at Akron...prime candidate to be back on scholarship in the fall of 2013 with the Zips. ...had offers from many other universities, but this decision really wasn’t about basketball VERY informative coming from a Medina newspaper, beating Akron's best to to the punch.
  22. Next year, sign one of these out from the studio.
