Tennessee run 46 times for 232 yards averaging over 5 yards a carry. I heard TB interviewed before the game. He stated the Vols running game was his biggest concern because the Zips were undersized upfront compared to the Vols. He said they would play a lot of 8 man fronts to try to stop them, but obviously they couldn't stay in the 8 man front too much. He stated they would show 8 and drop out of it in multiple occasions. I love the to hear this kind of stuff before the game. I can't remember the exact stat they showed during the game...something like the Vols offensive line averaged 319 lbs and the Zips defensive line averaged 269? Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong. All things considered, I think the defensive line played well, getting into the backfield multiple times and making some key stops on obvious run downs.

I don't think we are lacking in the WR dept. If we were...possible, but the way the corners played this Saturday, his value to the team lies on the D side of the ball. It's going to be fun watching coach Amato getting pressure on MAC QB's with the coverage we are able to provide on the outside.

The good news is that coach Bowden agrees with you. He went out of his way on his show to point this out. PS The more you put into tailgating, the more you get out. Nobody can stop you from having an awesome experience.

The Zips offense gets the ball in the hands of the receiver quickly. Our QB does not need a lot of time in most cases when he drops back. Will the Vols be able to get pressure on the Zips QB if he stands back there for 6.5 seconds...probably. Will the QB still have the ball in his hands...probably not.

The Zips lead the Mid-American Conference in total offense at 496.3 yards per game and passing offense at 378.0, and rank second in scoring offense with 39.3 points per game and first downs with 28 per game. QB Dalton Williams is the main reason. He ranks second in the nation with 10 touchdown passes and fourth in passing yards with 1,004 yards and fifth in passing yards per game at 334.7. The Akron defense is greatly improved under coordinator Chuck Amato. The Zips rank 14th in the nation in passing defense at 160.6 yards per game, and are second in the conference in total defense at 342.3 yards per game.

Agreed, loved Suel from day one. It amazes me how many plays Suel stands on the sideline. Bowden sure uses a heavy rotation at WR. I went to the Steelers game yesterday, amazingly Haley does the same with Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown. I was shocked by how many plays they were both standing next to Haley during the game. I'm guessing that this is due to both teams playing an up tempo rhythm-type offense. I would like to see the amount of snaps Suel had vs total offensive snaps. I also noticed Marquelo lined up in the slot a lot on Saturday.

What offensive recruit would not want to play on this offense? Burn the phones up this week. Coach: "Hello, [recruit name here] take a look at our box score this week, call me back after you do"
