  1. I go by what I see on the field, BUT if you are one of those guys that needs facts/stats whatever you like to call it, here you are:LR8 ranks 103 out of 119 QBs in college football right now. LR8 is 116 out of 119 in completion percentage!!! How can you paint a pretty picture out of that?!?We MUST improve play at the most important position to start to win games.
  2. Will he be able to see them with his current helmet? (I'm half kidding)
  3. No.Is this the first the fans have heard about Suel's back? I know he has been out, but can't remember if I knew why. Hopefully his return will help the passing game. If I were QB, he would get 7 to 10 targets no matter what the coverage, especially if the supposed cripple DB is covering him.
  4. That's exactly how I would attack an Akron offense.
  5. I'm impressed. I am going to be an optimist and believe that the bye week will benefit the Zips. History proves otherwise, but I'm tired of being a realist with this team.Winner will have 24, loser will score 21 and it will come down to the last drive of the game, unfortunately, LR8 has yet to prove he can lead the Zips on a winning drive late in a game, and I think that continues this week. Zips lose a close one. Please prove me wrong.I am not betting this week, but if you put a gun to my head, I would take the points.
  6. Do you think RI has that tattooed somewhere?...or does he shorten it?
  7. Here is another thread to read throughEverybody is different on places they like to stay. My suggestion is Google Maps, type in 'University of Akron' click on 'search nearby', type in 'hotels' and read the reviews of people that have stayed in places before. If you don't mind being five miles up route 8, you can stay at either Sheraton Suites or Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Cuyahoga Falls‎.Good Luck.
  8. Q has one important thing that all the new guys do not. He has proven performance during big games. I want him out on the floor when the game matters most.
  9. I forget what season of HBO's 'Hard Knocks' it was, but they were showing a team meeting on the percentages of down and distance. The gist of the meeting was exactly what you quoted. Gaining yardage on first and second down greatly effects the conversion percentages on third. While it sounds "ridiculous", I understand where it is coming from. I sure hope they do another season of Hard Knocks next year, I really missed it this year. I still say if I was UA, I would PAY HBO to come to Akron to do a Hard Knocks-type show on the team. Attendance would double.

  11. Please include your predicted outcome for the game.
  12. IMO, a good coaching staff has their team playing at a higher level coming off a "bye" week. Let's see if we can identify what the game plan is this week. I hope that keen fans can pick up on something new that we practiced and executed well this week.PS If it is true that a starting DB from OU has a broken shoulder, go after him please. Attack the weakness.WWBBD?
  13. I didn't say it hurt, I asked how it helped. If it helps, there must be multiple examples of how it does, I just don't know of any, and was wondering what those examples were.
  14. I may have to suspend my betting theory this week. I expected a lower line also.
  15. +1 and I don't like him either.Other than a possible recruit hearing that LBJ occasionally comes around, how does his presence on campus benefit the "program?" Do you think a recruit comes to Akron instead of (fill in the blank) because LBJ stops in once and a while? If you answer yes, can you name me this recruit?PS If I were in UA Marketing, I would get some video of LBJ playing ball and "leak" it to the media tonight.
  16. 25 years ago it did. Today is doesn't. The game is about passing (not that running isn't important). I've been saying it for year now.I watched two college football games Saturday. One team beat the #16 team in the country completing ONE pass.. Then I watched Auburn beat Florida completing SEVEN passes. Two college football games from "top" conferences in the NCAA complete EIGHT total passes in 7 hours of football and collect two wins in front of 142,000 fans. Weird.
  17. Thanks for the update GZ. Zeke at 240...nice.
  18. But tonight is the only night you can get this, before or after.
  19. It was breaking news on ZipsNation back in September...those guys are good.
  20. Nice article. I like the photos included. Speaking of that...shouldn't that face be plastered all over Akron?
  21. Best part of that article. Awesome. Bowling Green hired a firm to produce a video, with some humor, to thank the donors for the school's new Stroh Center.
  22. _LeBron Suiting up for the Hawks? Browns vs Seahawks tickets would be a hot item next Sunday!
  23. Next year is my year of "make or break" me as a fan too. I better see some results from this process the fans have been put through for the past year and a half.
  24. I believe Brian Wagner is our best player. WAY better than Suel or Chisholm. And Brookhart recruited him. Mr. Suel shows signs but 3 games and 8 receptions are not enough to declare him one of the top two players on the team. Same goes for Chisolm though averaging 95 yards/game through 6 is pretty impressive. Wagner is by far our best player. Just watching Suel on the field and ignoring the numbers (which don't look great), I'll still say he is one of the top guys on offense. I hope he gets back in there against Ohio. He makes LR8 better. IMO, Wags has a consistent body of work to prove he should be the "face of the zips" marketing focus.
  25. They really don't have much of a craft beer selection where I was at. I'll give Hazed & Infused a try. I like the name.
