You will just have to trust me when I tell you that I believe that PN7 does not "stink". I have seen him look good at the times when he is givin a chance to succeed. My opinion is not shared with some others I have talked to whose opinion I consider. I would agree with you that from year 1 to year 2 should be a big improvement, but a few abnormal things happened to hinder that growth this year. Those situations will not be applicable next season, so it will be time to step up. We should look to improve the position anyway we can since it is THE most important position on a football team. But most of all:Bad offensive lines and bad receivers, can make a great QB good, and a good QB bad.
What if they all stink? That was our problem this year.
Retire rich and consult.Any advice for Coach Meyer pertaining to his panic attacks? -
Great QB's can make a bad team better, and a good team great.
Great offensive lines can make a bad QB good, and a good QB great.
Great running backs can make a bad QB good, and a good QB great.
Great wide receivers can make a bad QB good, and a good QB great.
But most of all:
Bad offensive lines and bad receivers, can make a great QB good, and a good QB bad.
There are many formulas to get a winning football team. There is not just one. I hope we can find our formula soon with PN7 or without.
I would bet that it comes with him, but he needs to work hard. His footwork in the pocket needs to become better. He has a lack of confidence in the pocket right now. I hope the offensive line can provide him with better protection to gain more confidence next season. He also needs to have receivers to get open. I wish he had the Jalil Carter that played the last three games at the beginning of the season, I think that would have made a difference in his development. He also needs to start to make good decisions. Know what plays to give up on. PN7 has youth on his side and needs to work hard to have a successful junior year. Good luck to him.

Use the ASK THE AD button on GoZips web page. Tom has always answered me. Let us know what he says. How can we get this to the right people so something happens with it? -

What percent of people attending do you think are alumni, non alumni and students? The alumni really just need to step it up at basketball and football games. -
Nice questions Zipboy. I like #11 best, I wouldn't have thought of that, but that's a great question.
Nice thing about it is we will get our answer within the coming months. At times this season I questioned
the offensive line and wr coach and questioned a lack of having a specific secondary coach. I would like
to see some change somewhere.

I was shocked at the amount of people tailgating in Lot 9. Seriously.
I've been to a lot of end of the year tailgates where it was me, CK, and the guy with the fire by the fence at the Rubber Bowl.
'Lot Niners™' (I might make shirts next year) are serious about their Zip football.

If it makes you feel any better, I know three board members who were screaming at the top of their lungs..."Intentional Grounding". They heard us, and ignored us too.Sure had me screaming at the TV set. It ignored me.Was the QB out of the box? Who was the intended target? First thing I thought as the play unfolded
was intentional grounding. Why was the ball in his left hand? Bad, really, really bad officiating.

"Look who's graduating....this team is going to be worse next year....Ianello is no good"
Give it a rest for a week and let Zip fans enjoy a win Zach.
They finally show some improvement and your still beating your drum.

I miss not having press conference video of the CSU game.
I'm composing a new song. I'm getting Dire Straights to do the
.It starts off like this
"I want my ZTV......I want my ZTV....
You play the press conference on the ZTV
That ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Money for nothin' and your chicks for free "
I'm still working on it though.

Too much ball handling. Coach needs to change that.Steve's lack of shot attempts is a mystery to me. -
I tend to agree with DIG on this one. Good for the students there being passionate. But maybe misplaced.
How about taking that passion and chanting outside of our AD's office. "Get Students to the Game....Get Students to the Game...."
We simply need more students to attend to gain a home court advantage. We can't even fill the two small sections behind the hoops.
I was watching the game at Panini's in Sagamore. They must have 20 TV's in that place. Every tv was on the Cavs game or the Heat game.
Not a soul was watching either game. I had them turn the Akron game on in the corner and got a decent crowd watching with me.
Crowd favorite...student with the Stormtrooper helmet on. Now we need 500 more of him. Trust me, every fan that posts here wants a loud
home court advantage, but it needs to start with the students. Check out some other schools, I have seen it work.

Weather does not look very friendly for Friday.

A month later and the spoofs keep coming. This one has a former Akron grad assistant in it.

Good move. I went to a game (probably my last) this year and saw two occasions where some dopey father dressed his little kid up in anti LBJ gear. Hatred can get ignorant. On the opposite side of the coin, the last time I attended a Clowns game, I saw a dude with a COUCH jersey, with the "C" covered up. I thought that was funny, not hateful. Not everybody in Cleveland has to fill bottles with urine and whip them at refs heads.

wow...everyone in the CFB world thought they would beat Florida...I like what the TCU AD said...bring it OSPU, anytime, anywhere!

I tried this with the Beacon Journal a long time ago to no avail with DLM & Bluto. Situation is better now, no need. Seems like most media is shut off to the football team. ZTV is doing a nice job with basketball post game interviews with players and coach. I get loads of info from that and enjoy. Hopefully this student program gets bigger and better. Off to a good start. If we want more media coverage (for the record, I do!) our job as fans to call in, write, email, fax or do whatever is necessary to make our voices heard. -
Last tailgate of the year. Gotta do it up right!
One idea:
-
Dambrot said in his YSU post game press conference that CSU is a
better team than the Zips, so I'm not really paying attention to this one.
PS The line does not agree with KD.

If the two player and 1 coach set up is going to be standard throughout the season. You might want to ask your executive producer to buy you a 3-way splitter, two more mics, and three small mic stands. All can be reasonably purchased at B&H. You have a LOT of good audio here, I would love to hear it clearly. Again, nice job.
PS You can also get a nice wireless system here.

Thanks for taking the time to correct some of our members. Hopefully some of our members will try to get their facts straight before they post.Zach, UA has never " pre-selected " any of the questions I've asked Coach Ianello ( or any of the other coaches ) when they've been guests on ZL. -
Okay, thanks, I appreciate the effort. We are Zip fans. We are used to the long and hard way to get what we want.I would love to make these youtube videos, but by the rules set by my Executive Producer, I am not allowed. You should see what I had to go through to not get my Wagner jersey this year.
-
Any thoughts of making these youtube videos so you can just efficiently place them right into a thread here?

These kids are from Wade Park School in Cleveland.
I'm not sure I would have let my child participate in this.
I can't hear all the audio, but this seems wrong to me.

Just ask GP1 how great Tamaurice was, T got drafted by his favorite NFL team.
PS Tee is now the UK's wide receiver coach (kind of funny).
