What operating system and browser are you using? Home computer or are you on a work computer with a network?

I wouldn't rule anything out, this is not ND and you are going to have to win in a different way here, but you make a good point.Say all you want about dual threats...Ianallo is probably NOT going to look at that type of player. ND has 3 freshman QBs right now. Ianallo and Powlus have a relationshp with those guys. Could see one of those guys in the future, but that would AT LEAST be 2 years away. -

Things that can help our QB help our team win:
- It all starts up front, our QB is simply not getting time to set his feet, count it out from the snap for yourself. I'm not familiar enough with the offensive line play to put blame on individuals, but as a group they are grading too low in the passing game for us to compete. Mitch Browning needs to get this group better fast in order for us to continue to progress and compete in games.
- Alex Allen was doing a great job helping protect in the KSPU game, I would use him for protections on passing downs.
- Stop rolling out, this does not play into the strengths of our QB and it lets the defense cover only half the field. Double the defenders in half the field with a QB that doesn't throw well on the run is a recipe for disaster.
- I have mentioned this a few times in other threads, find the offensive passing plays on film that we succeed at, repeat those plays. If it means cutting down the playbook at this time, so be it. Find some success in the passing game and then add to the playbook slowly.
- Use the TE, we started doing it in the KSPU game finally, it worked, then we went away from it for some reason. We seem to have players at that position that can catch.
- Frisman needs to work overtime on our 2nd and 3rd receivers, they need to run better routes. I watched one of our receivers stop a route over the middle at KSPU that should have been a 20+ yard strike.
- Stop the false starts. These are drive killers and ruin any rhythm that our play calling gains.
- Gary Pride swing pass.
- Wide receiver screens.
- Continue taking shots down field, even if it doesn't work, like they always say it stretches the defense and gives our receivers more room to work.

I don't believe that. A year wiser is what I'm hoping for. Players (whomever they may be) will have a year's more practice in the not new anymore schemes. The more practice in the systems, the less mistakes and thinking there will be...players and coaches. Hopefully plays "slow down" for them and the skills start to take over. I look at our special teams this year, I think they have progressed from the beginning of the year, offensive and defensive fixes are harder. Maybe I'm delusional, but next year, I think we will defer!....the sad part is we may be worse next year.could we go 0-24. -
My JUCO order of importance:
1. Wide Receiver - Key player in most of our passing plays, must have good understanding of running precise routes, have good hands, and be able to catch a ball in traffic. Must have good understanding of the pro style offense. Limited time for development. Position immediately available for a speedy deep threat, and possession type.
2. Offensive Lineman - Guard and Tackle positions available. Must be quick on feet and strong. Decent understanding of the pro style offense. Able to protect a QB for a minimum of four seconds on pass plays, preferable six seconds to let our plays develop. Limited time for development. You might have to help the guy next to you also.
3. Safety - Must excel in coverage and should be a good tackler. Good understanding of the 4-3 defense.
4. Defensive Back - Must excel in coverage. Good understanding of the 4-3 defense. Shut down type preferable.

Yes, seems to me he doesn't want to admit that he/staff made a mistake by not reviewing it. Mitch Browning needs to step up his coaching. Put some extra time in, make a change, simplify something. I'm not sure what it is, but it is unacceptable! If I were playing the Zips I would send an extra guy every time the Zips get to third and a passing down....when Coach I states that he believes the play in the end zone was indeed a fumble, does anyone else get the impression that he is commenting on the original fumble...? -

I trimmed the press conference and I am currently uploading it to youtube, should be ready near lunch if someone has not listened to it yet.
I'm really glad I didn't go to the game. You guys are more bitter than I am.
I agree with skip, big plays are part of the game. One of the problems I had with this weeks play calling was the fact that we did not take shots down the field on play action streaks that we did in Kentucky. It didn't work in Kentucky, but that is no reason to stop. In this offense we need to take big shots down the field. We had some second and five or less near midfield when we should have dialed one of these up. The razzle-dazzle was nice if executed properly. More though. I can remember one big play that the receiver stopped on his route 20 yards down field. That would have been one.
"...see you tomorrow"...equals the softball questions. They need to include a guest ZN member so we can give him more pressing questions.

Let me preface my post with the fact that I did not watch the game until last night. I spent an hour and a half with my DVR. I read this post and a few others before I watched the game, so I was ready for the worst. Here are my thoughts in no particular order.
- Stop rolling PN7 out! His strength is not throwing on the run. I understand our O line stinks, but this is not fixing the problem, it's making it worse. When PN7 has time to set his feet, which is rare with the OL play, he is at his best.
- I thought Waller played a good game. I haven't been able to say that all year about somebody in the secondary. He made some key open field tackles and had a few nice coverages.
-Where were the swing passes that worked so well in Indiana? With the strength of KSPU's DL, I thought this would have been a nice call. We had proven success with it also. I wish somebody would go through all of our film and rate positive offensive plays and just run those plays one game and see what happens.
-Great fake FG. Good call. Maybe this will take a little rush off our kicker for some time.
-Our wide receiver corp is still weak.
-KSPU stinks. I have now seen Keith play twice. He was great last year. He stunk this year. I'm not as concerned with him having two more years now. His wr's aren't that good either.
-We used the TE to move the chains. We used the TE to move the chains. We used the TE to move the chains.
- I don't know if anybody else watched the game on STO or not, but if the person that screamed like a little girl every time KSPU touched the ball would like to meet me at my house tonight, I have a special gift for you.
- AA is playing well, running the ball and picking up the blitz. I hope he is still enjoying playing.
- I loved the razzle dazzle play call out of the wildcat, I'm not sure what PN7 was doing, but the play call was awesome. I noticed nobody accounts for PN7 when he lines up in the wildcat. They might have to now. We are not a good team, but we do put a lot on film. Hope that counts for something someday.
- The KSPU punter accounted for 14 points and won the game for them. He would have gotten the game ball if I were coach.
- I'm glad I spent a beautiful fall day not in Portage County.
- I haven't listen to the press conference yet, but I sure hope iCoach doesn't say "I counted X amount of bad plays that counted for X amount of whatever that cost us the game" Even though there is truth to that, it's starting to get to me already.
- Please fix our Offensive Line protection. It is as bad as I have ever seen on an Akron team. Only Vick would be successful running this offense. I wonder how frustrated PN7 is?
- KSPU put pressure on our QB like iCoach talks about doing each week. Keith got hammered once, but other than that was able to make a read on his third stinky receiver most of the day. Where is this pressure that iCoach keeps telling me about.

Do you ever get tired of explaining/typing that on a Zips fan forum?Seeing that I am a Zip grad and fan... -
My Uncle played with Cliff and sent me a black & white autographed 8x10 for my birthday when I was little. I'll have to dig it up and scan it, maybe that will convince him to come to Akron.I remember watching his father, Cliff Stoudt, during his playing days at YSU. -
Is Cribbs okay?

Randy Rhodes and Kurt Cobain just rolled over in their graves being likened to a Karaoke winner....hearing about Jay-Z and Carrie Underwood. -
I saw Nirvana on Halloween back in 93 at the JAR.I'm going to extend my garage analogy out to the nearly absurd here, but...you also don't build the nice new fancy garage so that you son's garage band can practice in it and you so you can host back-yard barbeques. -
-
I actually chuckled when I read that. Volleyball.Let's make one thing clear. If the JAR is ever upgraded, or a new arena is ever built, it will be primarily for the purposes of furthering the men's basketball program -
Don't forget game is being televised on STO. I'm recording it and enjoying a fall day. 71 and sunny.

Thanks for posting that, I wondered/figured, now I know.I wouldn't count him out yet.... a lot of guys I played with "left the team" for "personal reasons" for a little while before returning. -
They will be in the system one more year longer than the players that are playing now. You can hope that being more familiar with the system will help them play better. Then the simple questions would be........if there are so many starters who are no good, then what does it say about the guys on the bench who will be replacing them as starters next year? -
I think it is disappointing to see the current student turnout for the basketball games, but comparing them to soccer is insane. Soccer deserves all the student support in the world. They are proven winners. They are ranked #1 in the NATION. They play a tough schedule. They bring in top 20 teams to Akron. When the basketball team starts going deep in the tournament bracket and brings in top 20 teams, I GUARANTEE you will see tons of student support. It's sickening how the soccer team gets so much respect from the fans but the basketball team gets none. -
I got motivated and edited the phone conference and uploaded. See top of this thread.

You guys are bigger fans than me if you can worry about the defensive line two years from now.
