We are in trouble. I watched him dribble at the top of the key for 25 seconds last night with his back to the hoop looking left, dribble off foot, recover basketball, look right, dribble dribble dribble, look left, (back still to the hoop) dribble dribble dribble, look right, dribble off knee, recover, dribble dribble dribble, pass the ball high up top with seconds on the shot clock forcing into a bad shot.Your statement might be right, but for the love of gawd we have GOT to find somebody that can run the point.

Season ended September 19th at about 11 am for me. I can't wait for the new season.

I can admit it, and also realize I will not be watching them play next week because of it. I think Nicely is going to be a good one with the Zips, but I sure hope we can run the ball when we need to. Ball control and clock control depend on it.

Dick Lebeau come up with one of the greatest defensive schemes against Peyton Manning in that game. Dick Lebeau won that game. Ben had 14 whole completions in that game!?!? They ran the ball 42 times!

I don't know...We got two guys (Hixon and Blackburn) who got Super Bowl rings and STARTED for the Super Bowl Champs the following year.Hard to beat that at Akron.The Steelers had 3 MAC players win a ring with them, Harrison, Batch, and Leftwich. 3-3-5 was JD's decision. His thought was that the MAC played a lot of spread offense, and the 3-3-5 was the best way to stop it.Sticking with that decision throughout his entire time with Akron was his worst decision IMO, and one of the reasons he is no longer here.I'm sure JD will land on his feet somewhere, he is a hard worker. I wish him and his family nothing but the best.

I'm pleasantly shocked they're updating it in practically real time. 5 GA's(?)...that will help keep the costs down. Is it good to hire unit coaches before the coordinator? I guess RI is being very selective about a DC.Its possible that some of the hires won't be announced until the bowl season is over.Is it possible that we have an offer to a DC that also may be in the running for a HC job?

Seems like we are getting some experience on our staff. I like that. I wonder how PN16 feels about Powlus being his QB coach, I bet he is excited about that. Another good interview for a BJ guy looking for a story to educate the football fans of Akron.

I absolutely realize that Florida runs the 3-3-5. And that is where you have to be to run such a gimmicky D. You need LOTS of speed. That's why it works there. You are not going to be able to recruit kids that can make that defense work at Akron. THAT is why I'm opposed to running that D at Akron. Learn to walk before you run. My new years resolution is going to not mention the stack D in another post throughout 2010.
