  1. Nice read.Makes me wonder how many stories on the current team we are missing because our local paper doesn't think anybody cares. And no I'm not talking about JD was a salesman and quit his job story again...
  2. With the time change and the start time moved up, Ken+ fans will have to "wake n bake"
  3. Instead of just cutting and pasting your link, use the insert link (circled in red) when pasting your link, it will give you the option to name it then.
  4. Good luck to Nate in life after college.
  5. Thanks for the post GC54. Great insight. Nice cover too. I would hope the article would show up here soon (click)Zeke gets a mention here
  6. This is from CK found in this linkIn the signing day presentation I asked Coach Ferri - "What will you say if a local HS coach complains (in the Beacon) that his players weren't recruited by his 'home town' school?" He replied - "Give me their name and I'll call them. I recruit this region. We made offers to every D1 caliber kid (with grades) in the area. Sometimes kids just want to go away from home. Sometimes they're intent on playing for a BCS school. If they had grades and were good enough, we actively recruited and offered them." He also added that the 2010 talent was much deeper than '09, and he expected to see some more local names in next February's class.
  7. I don't care about exposure anymore. I'm selfish, I want 6 pm Saturday home games all the time. I enjoy those the most.I can pre and post tailgate and enjoy the game.
  8. Skip, I know where you are coming from. I'm not a Browns fan, but if my team plays on Monday night, Sunday night or has a buy week, and the Browns play a Sunday 1pm game, I used to go to the Browns games. I gave that up this year for the same reason. I did have fun watching the Browns at Jacksonville this year though. Jax fans are cool. I don't think Ken+ fans are that obnoxious, but I do hate being squeezed into my seat in that stinking gym though. The smell alone is enough to keep me away.
  9. No problem B&G, I merged them for you.Keep the articles coming Tom. Can the headline to your next article be 'Zips move on from the 3-3-5' Get me some quotes from coach explaining why the switch, and try to get him to say "Dr Z was right all along" Is there no print/statement saying the team is switching defenses because it seems like admitting a mistake, or is it not interesting enough to make an article about?
  10. If the Zips can't beat three teams in a row in the MAC tournament, they don't deserve anything, whomever they play, east, west, south or north.NO EXCUSES. The MAC is weak...TAKE IT NOW!
  11. I would love to have the coaches rebuttal to your article Ray, any chance?
  12. Since I have been critical of Bardo's rebounding, I have to give him props when he shows some hope.About 14 minutes left in the second half, Bardo made a rebound. Best rebound I ever seen him make. Study what you did right Mike, and do it 7 more times a game, we will win the MAC tourney. I will be watching.
  13. I want it to hear it from the "horses mouth"
  14. Sure would like to see a quote from JD that says "we are installing a new defense this year"
  15. It's soooooo nice to talk about another defense other than the crappy stack. One thing to keep in mind, most teams that run the 3-4 still run some sort of four man front package also. Even the Steelers. The Steelers are able to stay in the 3-4 and run it as effectively as they do because of their depth at LB.The one thing that does concern me is the ability of the OLBs to learn the scheme. It seems like there is a BIG learning curve. It makes good sense that we brought in a big name linebacker coordinator. At the very least I will know what I'm watching when I watch the defense this year. I didn't evenknow who to blame when I watched the crappy stack. Just looked like a bunch of undersized kids drag tackling7 yards downfield. I never want to hear the terms 'rover' and 'bandit' again. I always wanted to see Jason Taylor play in the 3-4, does he have ANY eligibility left?
  16. When Penn State joined the Big 10 the athletic directors got together to create rivalry matchups. Penn State and other Big 10 teams created special trophies to play for (like our Wagon Wheel game). So, yeah, you can sometimes stoke a rivalry up.So who is PSU's rivals now???? When they used to play Pitt, THAT was a rival. You can make all the crappy trophies you want.Marshall was our best chance at another "Ken+"
  17. I'm with you QZ. I'm still waiting to see something official before I order my tickets though.I think we will have some growing pains with the 3-4, but at least it is a proven defense. My quick observation with the 3-4 is that it takes the majority of OLBs 3 to 4 years to learn the scheme,by that time in college, they are graduating.
  18. THANK YOU! With his resume has got to be able to talk some sense in to somebody on that side of the ball already. PLEASE.
  19. GP1, I'm wondering where you are coming from with this. Have you ever met MW?
  20. Doesn't surprise me. I bet Pernetti will have a great passion for a school that he played for. Hmmmm....
  21. I'd be excited to see a list of candidates if Mack did decide to move on. I would research it if I thought there was a chance of him doing so this year. If Dr P didn't get MW back here to sit down and talk with him about the vacancy, I would be surprised. I want that guys passion and focus in my next AD! Nobody in my time around Zips athletics has understood ZipsNation better.
  22. It might be a tad easier to recruit in the Big Ten (+ PSU) than the MAC. I'm not sure though. I'm going to check a few stats and get back to you. I'll have to check to see how much money Purdue and Indiana put into their program compared to BG and Ken+. Plus, it's sooo hard to get defensive lineman in the MAC you have to play with only three.
  23. I hate to state the obvious, and I know this doesn't help us now, but I am looking forward to seeing Zeke play. Watching Bardo being sideways to the basket most of the night was disturbing. If I were coach, I would demand that he doesn't shoot for the rest of the month, he should only be instructed to box out and rebound. He needs to focus on his job. That was a winnable game. The refs really reduced the enjoyment of college basketball.
  24. I like the Valpo annoucer's observation about Bardo not boxing out.
