  1. Topic already started
  2. On the flip side of your topic (to stay positive), we have a chance tomorrow to do something we haven't done since turning NCAA I-A in '87...win four on the road!?!Sure makes a move out of a stadium easy when you don't win there your last season.
  3. Seneca Wallace isn't going to let a sore calf keep him from trying to rescue the Seahawks' sinking season. After leading the first-team offense for most of Thursday's practice, the quarterback said he's ready to start Week 7 when Seattle plays at Tampa Bay. A day earlier, the backup split time with third-stringer Charlie Frye. "I feel better. I feel better every day," Wallace said of his strained calf, which he re-injured during a morning walkthrough on Oct. 8.Source: CBS sportsline

    Pod Cast

The link circled in GREEN is FREE. Sorry, I didn't do a good job of clarifying that. You can listen to the past 11 podcast here. All free.
  7. I bet a ZipsNation.org logo would look cool on there.
  8. Cutting and pasting information obtained from pay sites is not ethical. Sorry guys.I'm sure it's not too much different than this article.
  9. This is the first one of these that I "downloaded" It's 25 minutes of audio. Pretty entertaining.Podcast can be found hereSenior defensive back Bryan Williams and head coach J.D. Brookhart are this week's podcast guests, checking in after a tough home loss to Bowling Green and discussing topics ranging from their trip to Ypsilanti to suits on the sideline and air travel. Hear whether Coach Brookhart would ever follow the example of nFL coaches who wear suits on the sideline for games and how the new timing rules in college football have affected his team's games. Then, listen as Bryan looks back at his two years at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, talks about returning to the defensive side of the football and reveals how he handles air travel on road trips. For those of you that don't know how this works. Here is a quick overview. Podcast can be found hereIf you click on (iTUNES/1-CLICK) circled in green, it will give you a pop up, you choose itunes and it downloads right to your itunes under Podcasts (see example below)The download is 23 meg, so if you have a slow connection, it might take a while.PS If you click on (listen here) it takes you to Jump TV site. It seems like that is pay per view/listen.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. Please respond how you feel and why you voted the way you did.
  11. While I see your point uakronkid, make no mistake, JD has said many times flat out,one of the reasons we play the 3-3-5 is because it is hard to recruit DL.
  12. I would hope for the rest of the time that Charlie is in the NFL and somebody posts an update on something he does, it doesn't turn into a bash Charlie thread.Have some pride people. I realize he played for the Browns and that skews a lot of peoples opinion, but come on, everybody that doesn't like him is WELL documented.
  13. This is well documented here at ZipsNation. NOBODY is happy with this.J.D. Brookhart Press Conference QuotesQuestion: Does Elliot Bates (center) high snaps affect the play?It does affect the timing of the play. He is our best answer at center after the graduation of starter Mike Schepp. Elliott is leading that group well. It is not easy to snap and step laterally at the same time and still deliver a fast, waist high snap. He probably snapped 10,000 balls this summer. He is very diligent and works very hard at it.
  14. Another article on the lack of defense, plus Bain info (that should get everybody's attention).Defense's flaws are costing Zips chances to win
  15. No TV according to GoZipsUt oh, it's band day and the last time we played in Ypsilanti on band day we lost 42-34
  16. I think some of this will change with the new stadium (in time). You have to start to build your fan base with students.Students did not go out of their way to get to the Rubber Bowl. Info will produce more students at the game (hopefully). This will build your alumni support over the years. Of course winning while all of this happens sure will help.
  17. IMO the 3-3-5 has run it's course. Experiment over. I have heard all the excuses why we play this scheme. I don't buy them.I think the cons far outweigh the pros. On top of that, I don't even agree with the pros of this defense. If our DC can't change our defensive scheme in the off season, I would hope that JD would consider a change in DC.We have 17 days off between games coming up, if you were ever going to change a scheme mid season. NOW is the time. But I know that will not happen.I don't hold out hope for a change, IMO it seems like JD is very stubborn about trying to make this defensive scheme work. This is a quote from his press conference this week: Are you concerned with the play of the defense over the past few weeks?Answer: No.I don't think we need a head coaching change, but if we did and the new coach said he was going to play the 3-3-5, I think I would end my Saturday with the tailgating and head off to do something more productive on a fall afternoon. There is a saying for a reason: DEFENSE wins championships! Make this a priority JD. I'm not happy until our opponents score is 0 with 0:00 left in the fourth.
  18. Charlie to warm up again this Sunday?
  19. So what is your solution? Do you think the coaching staff can learn from their mistakes? Should we just replace the staff and go through new growing pains?
  20. Basketball (Early Period)
  21. Giants WR Domenik Hixon practiced in full on Friday and is probable for Week 6 at Cleveland. He expects to play on Monday night in Cleveland. He understands he will again back up Plaxico Burress, who leads the team with 18 catches, after having four catches for 102 yards and one touchdown in a Week 5 win against the Seahawks.(Updated 10/10/2008). PS MNF needs to be DVR'ed.
  22. I watched a QB from the MAC "warm up" in the NFL during the 2004 season. He started off as a third string QB at the beginning of the season.Because of injuries, he was forced into action the 3rd game of the season. He "warmed up" in 2004 and then won a SB in 2005. Worked for him.I'm not saying Charlie can do the same thing, but if you go back through the history of NFL QB's, you'll find some odd trips to get to the SB.Here's to hoping Charlie gets one someday.
  23. Did anybody stop and see the team?
  24. I watched the whole game. Seattle is a bad team. Charlie looked a grade above what DA has looked this year.
