  1. That's right Big Zip. Execution is part of the game but knowing what play to call in different game situations is on the coaching staff and JM specifically. Four straight three and outs in the second half was awful and the plays we ran were plays we used over and over in this game and every game we've played. The play book must consist of 25-30 plays. Of the three interceptions, two of them were from bad reads. One of the tips was thrown into double coverage and the other a db or lb jumped the route and had a nice interception. Jaq is doing a pretty good job if you look at all the drops, tips, and yes, poor reads. He's maturing as a qb and I think he has played better than some on this forum believe.WR drops are a huge issue, agreed. I'm sorry if I misled anyone to believe that I'm putting all of the blame on Jaq, I'm not that naive.I agree with you that Jaq is maturing somewhat, but I'm going to need to see more before the end of this season to be completely convinced. He will be a senior next season, and the maturing phase should be long gone by then. Every game is a big game the rest of this season, and if Jaq doesn't progress consistently each game(and more so than he has), than I believe its time to start reevaluating our other QB options.Believe me, I'm pulling for Jaq to do well just as much as anyone, but he can only blame misreads on immaturity for so long.
  2. Here's something I didn't understand about the Can't game. Why were the AK rowdies put in the north end zone RIGHT next to a bunch of old Can't alumni? I couldn't understand why any Can't fans would sit there of all places.
  3. Hah! Yeah I was screaming about that at game time! It's really sad. If that would have been ruled incomplete I would have been irate.
  4. Not to completely take away from discussion, but does anyone else know about this new "spicer village" nieghborhood just south of the stadium? Here's the link - http://www.spicervillage.com/index.aspThe homes look great, but that isn't exactly the safest area. I understand the idea is to attract more young professionals and revitalize the area, but will this actually work?I posted this here becase if this is a success then it would definetly effect the area around the stadium.
  5. I checked out the 2008 depth chart to see who else can play for us besides CJ, whether it be before Jaq graduates(and unless he starts becoming much, much, more consistent, that should be the case), or after he leaves us. The guys under Jaq are: 5 Matt Rodgers 6-2, 200, RFr10 Kade Wagner 6-2, 215, RFr14 KC Patterson 6-3, 210, JrHas anyone seen any of these guys? Do any of them impress you? Do any of them seem capable of taking the starting spot next season(assuming Jaq keeps playing the way he has), and if not, who should we look out for in two years? Who is the future of this program? It's obvious that this university is making some serious strides toward competetiveness, on and off the field. I think that it's important that we distinguish who will lead our team down the road, and who will help mold the university's image over the next few years. Also, any other big recruits that may actually be within UA's grasp? The new stadium is a big sell to high school kids.
  6. Haha this is probably the least biased site for pregame predictions.UA-21Can't-17Its a rivalry, so it'll be close. I'd like to see a good game anyways.
  7. The student section should have a strong showing. The largest freshman class in school history definetly has its perks
  8. Wow, you pretty much summed it up for me. Lets face facts:*UA is evolving into something far better than it's ever been before. Faster then the general public even realizes.*YSU is done, over with. Look at the city of youngstown. There's nothing. Wow, high school football! Well if anyone noticed what Proenza has done with the campus at UA (completely renovated!), they should also know that he has public plans of doing the same thing to the city and the sorrounding neighborhoods of campus as well. A few years from now, this place just wont be the same, and that's a good thing!
