  1. What radio stations in Akron will broadcast the game? I go to college here, but I'm obviously not from the area, like a lot of the kids that go here. Therefore I have absolutely no clue if any stations will have the game. Any locals want to help a young new guy out?
  2. Sounds like a plan to me. Who shall knock them out? Me, or you? Because god knows that niether defense will get to them.
  3. And I only saw about two peace signs. I suppose the student hippie population could care less about the new stadium.
  4. Great idea.So then when Rhoades is asked at some press conference why he decided the year before they open the brand new stadium, he fired the 5 year head coach, he can just say,"It's only rebuilding if we lose all the players too."Hearing that would really get fans pumped for the new stadium!
  5. You've basically repeated what I said but with horrible English and managed to somehow turn it into an argument. I guess some of us are simply more optimistic than others. I don't care if we lose out the rest of our season, I will still be at the RB til' the end.
  6. I was reading www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com, and I figured after winning the game, the BG fans would just breathe a sign of relief, maybe bash their coach a bit like usual, and move on to miami.No. Instead they constantly rip on the RB for how much of a piece it is(I didn't realize this was news..). And then they start criticizing our fans calling us "the most obnoxious d-bags in the conference" and stating that:"Everything about today's game seemed second-rate and low-rent from a visitor to Akron point of view. From Light up signs being powered by open car batteries, to an announcer on the field urging on the fans, to the schitty pyrotechnics in the pregame show. I didn't think it was possible for a school to have a worse PA system than the venus of BG but Akron pulls it off."I could brush that crap off, the RB is old, and it's beyond the point of return, and that is WHY the info is being put up. But just ripping the RB wasn't enough. Some guy found it important to then talk down on the INFO:"If they run it(the INFO) anything like they do the rubber bowl, it will go from class of the M.A.C. to a toilet in two years." Now I ask, who are "the most obnoxious d-bags in the conference?"
  7. exactly class of 82. We have to remember that we were picked to finish dead last in the conference. And right now we have won three games. And imagine how you guys would sound right now if we had beaten the two teams we should have(cinci and BG). Thats Thats 5-2! This team is capable of winning out, and capable of losing out. With a little help, a bowl game and a MAC east championship are completely within our reach. It's nice to be able to say that, especially after the pre season reviews UA got.
  8. It's funny how just one week ago, I merely ask who else we have for jacq, and many of you freak. Now after one "bad" game, the same people want his head.If you ask me, he still looked like crap. But he did improve. Somewhat. At least he actually picked up those feet and started running when under pressure(except on that sack in the 4th). I believe it's becoming more evident every week that Jacq struggles in big moments in big games. That's not necessarily the best characteristic to have as a QB. Anybody else see DK out there? Damn, let's go get EMU. If we can run on BGSU with that simple (and stupid) play calling then imagine what damage we could inflict upon EMU.The MAC East Championship is still within our reach, calm down people. Do you all really believe that BG and UB will win out? Not with the inconsistent play the East has shown. We still need to just worry about what WE have to do, and go do it.
  9. I dont understand what you old people have against the oregon jerseys. Those jerseys are saweet. If UA had a new uniform like that, I guarantee more students would want to come here and become AK Rowdies.back up that guarantee with $$$ for the team to buy the Unis out of your own pockets if the Rowdies don't atleast double.thats not a fair deal. That's the equivalent to getting 10% of the undergraduate student body to join. ( of course, that percent would be obviously slightly less if more students enrolled, but my point still stands).
  10. Definately Gold on Gold!!BTW, that pic you've got at the bottom for your signiture with Zippy over the City of Akron....THAT IS AWESOME!!!!Yeah when I saw that pic that's exactly what I thought. awesome design.

  12. wow, no... got it... a college kid that likes obama... shockingListen, I just used "Joe 6-pack" and couldn't get the Palin quote outta my head. But yeah, thanks, now everyone knows where you stand politically, thank you.Isn't sad how almost all college kids vote democratic, not due to their own politcal beliefs, but rather because that's the "progressive" thing to do. I bet if you did a study, a majority of the students backing obama probably don't even rometly share the same ideals as he does. All that these students are doing is making uninformed poltical decisions, which is better than no decision, right?
  13. well, because this discussion has turned into anything but a discussion, lets talk about other tentative OOC games next year. Heres the link:http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPS...p;ATCLID=538215I had a few thoughts/ q's about the possible opponents:Kentucky? Good or bad pickup?at Indiana? I thought we were thinking of opening the INFO with the Hoosiers... Syracuse is obviously a good pick. Nice BCS win for a confidence boost. That website hasn't been updated for about three years.hahaha. sorry for the old link.
  14. Not to worry. I would never let the oppinions of BGSU fans dictate my view of a game. I'm sure they thought that they would roll all over EMU also Wow...there's some incredible stuff going on over there. 80% of their posting fans believe the Zips are going to get destroyed in this game. I just don't see how they can be so optimistic after losing to EMU. More power too 'em I guess. Here's to 4-3 (2-0) after Saturday evening! :cheers:And BGSU has some whiney fans. I never really realized how proud UA fans are until I witnessed that sad excuse of a fan base(ouch that was a touch too harsh).

  16. Haha, nice. I love it. Does anyone know how much of the construction they will even be able to get done before winter hits?
  17. Wow, you would think getting beat by EMU last week would kind of bring some of these guys back down to earth.
  18. I think with all of the negative responses people tend to throw JD's way, he really deserves the respect of the fans for that timeout. A complete game saver. I know it's been said already, but great call JD!
  19. Haha nice film guys.Did anyone else see some of the rowdies throwing footballs at the Can't players at half time. hahaha i about choked.
  20. The 1-AA is too good for Can't. The Big East can take em.
  21. Agree. The reason he remains our QB is because he is the best one on the roster. While this isn't saying a whole lot, JD's hands are tied. Sure, I would like to see Rogers get a series or two, but we would need to get a huge lead for JD to do this.As noted, the offense will struggle to score points and CJ will struggle to play consistently with what we got. Coaches always talk about QB's having "it". I don't see the "it" with CJ and now is not the time to find someone who has it. This needs to be done in February. (signing day)All of the above will continue to hurt the offense and hamper his development.-The high snaps.-Virtually no running game. DK may be healthy and doing his best, but his best won't cut it. Alex Allen continues to be a huge void in the offense and we need to get someone else some snaps at RB or we are in trouble.-The drops.-If his first option in the pattern is covered, he completion percentage drops considerably.-He is no threat wih his feet.-The long pass plays (calls) on third and short.-The delayed play calling at the LOS. This is unwatchable at times.I can remember one instance in overtime at the Can't game. We were driving into the north endzone, right into the rowdies, and he had a play clock sitting right in front of him. All that he had to do was look up and call a TO. Instead, he continues to mess around and costs us five yards. That could've cost us the W.
  22. So the general consensus seems to be, dont give up on Jacq, but let him mature. The most important aspect that we should be focusing on is the play of those around him(i.e. WR drops, high snaps, etc.) and the somewhat skeptical playcalling of morehead. In another topic someone mentioned that JD needs to have a serious talk with Morehead. I agree. Some of those calls are absoluetely horrible. I don' think morehead has any sort of hidden agenda as the poster mentioned, but he still needs to be talked to.Lets just give Jacq some time, and see how it goes. We have a good squad, I just sure hope we maximize the potential.
  23. Haha, perhaps it is the Browns fan in me that is speculating a QB change, but lets keep this on topic. It is a zip forum, not a worthlesburger forum. The idea of a QB change as of right now is of course ludicrous. Let's say we win one game the rest of the season, and Jacq's play just stays the same, or gets worse. So, in your own terminology, what if Jacq is no winner at all, but distiunguishes himself as a loser? Then would it hurt to look at other options? Of course not. You basically just repeated my original argument. See how things go the rest of the season, and unless progress is made, start looking into our backups. As of the actual back ups, I have no clue. I just looked at the first link I could get.
  24. Yeah I agree with you there, Akron is capable of winning all of the rest of their games. It's giving me high blood pressure watching this team though. Like everyone is saying, the only thing stopping Akron from becoming a good team in the MAC is themeselves. They won't be a "good" team until they can play to their abilities every game.
  25. I wasn't calling for a change after one game. I said if overtime, Jacq still looks like crap, then its time to look around at what else we have. I'm not even saying we have anything better to go to, but at the same time we can't just stick with Jacq because hes been here longer. If we followed that formula, Owens would still be coaching here.
