Here is the item that I came away two things during this interview when asked about conference realignment: That first part is either a outright sales pitch, of a farewell statement This part is interesting. Dr. P. in a roundabout way was saying that even he wants out of the MAC, and is shopping/ being approached with some options.

"Unsettled" is putting it mildly. I called now unstable. If this move was going to happen assuming the current lineup you posted. It looks good for Basketball, but poor for Football. I think now that the Big East will get their own house in oder before they decide to add more schools.

The Big East took them for Basketball. Memphis probably told them "all sports or we don't join."

What the Permire League does is the use a "tired" system. What you see on television is their top teams. When a club is really bad, they move them down one level until they get better. Also when a team is really good, they move them up to the top level. (think like if MLB moved a team down to AAA of move one up from AAA)

Two questions: Is it just me, or is Conference USA trying to get AQ by sheer numbers? Also with this lineup of Southern Miss, Marshall, East Carolina, Tulane, Tulsa, Rice, UTEP, UAB, North Texas, Charlotte, Louisiana Tech and Florida International, does this sound like the poor-mans MAC West?

UTSA? If they are taking schools like this, then Akron should be on the list to bolt. Unless, they want to stay. If this is the case, it spells total doom.

Zippy you are right, Southern Miss was a bad on to put in the post, but UTEP has been one of the worst for years. Taking a quick look at their conference, there are several offenders of pure bad football for years. Conference USA is looking more and more like a bad idea

UTEP and Southern Miss should be thankful they have not been stepped down to FCS. Two very bad football schools talking trash. They need to look in the mirror.
