  1. Sorry about that, I found it
  2. Are you sure? My understanding was that Summa bought the Martin lot. BTW, I worked at Martin in 2004-2005 and the Haven was a huge issue at night
  3. I actually thought about that location. There is 2 major issues with that. The first one is Summa owns the property and they would have to sell. The second one is the Haven of Rest and they are not moving.
  4. Good Find CK. All the love from the Moderator there
  5. Dave, They almost have to because there is a National Weather service office there. Also as far as the Akron area coverage, Western Reserve Media did a great documentary on this subject.
  6. Now this is interesting. My question is after listening to the interview is "did Conference USA try this already?" I actually had a thread about this two years ago and I will ask the same questions that I asked then: -Travel cost and time -Do you take some sports or all sports -SOS concerns -Charther members of other conferences wanting to leave, or wanting to have their rival game every year -How many teams and who -Getting post season selections(i.e. BCS games) -money sharing between schools Honestly, thoughts of going to El Paso or Charlotte for a Tuesday night game do not excite me at all
  7. Actually it is Cleveland-Akron-Lorain. However you are right. I would put big money on if Akron joins the Big East(unless it implodes), every station there would run down here to cover the Zips just to say "there a Cleveland team" As a side note, Akron has been fighting this for years. Do not believe me? They have been trying to bury Akron for a long time and won. Cleveland as a market, wants nothing to do with Akron unless money is involved.
  8. I was watching Newsnite Akron and this was a topic. I hate it that they went strait back to the crossing the tracks project from 20 years ago. It seems like even the local media even has no idea on what to do on this subject. The person who said this(Jody Miller) is totally stuck in the past. If there is a disconnect from the University and the City like the show suggest, maybe this can be solved
  9. I have been thinking about this since this thread started. I keep coming back to this: If they are "at large" I keep coming back to this in my head: Off to Dayton (part of the first four) I say this because of the conference. I know that there is no control over that, but the selection committee mite do it out of pity/spite.
  10. Yuck. Even I had go go back to a thread that I started 3 years ago to see what teams I said
  11. EMU CMU WMU? I don't want them. They would just drag the conference down. Marshall? Take them back for the third time? Even the MAC is not that stupid.
  12. According to the Beacon, he had no talk about a arena (bottom of article)
  13. I know, that will drag everything down
  14. Did anyone see this today? ohio.com
  15. I do not think that is the case. They have tried in the past (crossing the tracks project that gave them the Polsky Building). I want the new arena to be built, however there are two major stumbling blocks in the way IMO: The Civic E.J. Thomas hall We all know that there is a need for a new arena, they would fight to the death to keep "their dates" during the year. I also think that the City is trying not to become The Flats of the early 90's if it is built
  16. It does help. I do not want to see another 27 win season and get no invite at all(and yes, the CBI does not count). They had to up the RPI just to get noticed.
  17. Why would he go back to that defense set? I know that he knows it, but when the Zips team defense is ranked ahead of theirs, it makes no sense.
  18. This guy became a Hall of Famer by doing that. However to respond to the statement, yes it is desperation thinking, and I am not even a Browns fan.
  19. Six Foot Nothin' Terrell Buckley!? at least he can show people how to tackle
  20. This was talked about on another thread I think that if they are going to build one, it should be around 7,500-9000 max seating. Hockey, Arena Football, basketball, concerts? Maybe they should take this route, just on a way smaller scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensboro_Coliseum
  21. I was thinking the same thing
  22. I was thinking the same thing
  23. Is that Coach Bud Foster or Commander William Riker? For a guy who has never had the guts to sit in the big chair, he has an interesting opinions about leading a program. Great Star Trek reference GP1, but I don't think that Beamer is calling him "Number One"
  24. Thats TOO EASY
  25. It is better than the past few years. Would you rather have the schedule that Miami had last year?
