  1. I have to say you need to do a little bit more research on Dambrot's influence on LeBron's development.
  2. Oh please. Anyone with an ounce of basketball knowledge knows why they got stomped by VCU.
  3. Did you miss the part where I said the situations are not the same? The point is that Dambrot believes in second chances because his success at UA is based on one, which applies directly to this situation. From the article: After his point guard, Alex Abreu, was suspended just before the conference tournament on marijuana trafficking charges, Dambrot told the Plain Dealer’s Terry Pluto: “We all make bad decisions. I have made some. I have become a more forgiving and compassionate person in my heart over the years.”
  4. With everyone but Diggs back next year, I can't see how more games against solid competition could possibly be a bad thing.
  5. I'll ask you directly then. Do you know Alex Abreu? How many conversations have you had with him?
  6. Actually, I haven't given my opinion on wanting him back or not - I've just shared my initial point that some on this forum are severely undervaluing Abreu's basketball ability. Your comment that "PG play wasn't the reason we lost last night" seemed to insinuate that Abreu wouldn't have made a difference against WMU. I disagree wholeheartedly. But since you seem to want to know, yes, I would take Abreu back if the coaches think he deserves a 2nd chance. I don't know Alex, and you don't either. The difference is you're pretending to know if he's learned his lesson while I'm basing my opinion on those who know him best, who know the situation, and who I trust - our coaching staff. You really don't know how he's handled the situation. I'm a believer in 2nd chances if a young person has deemed themselves worthy of it. If the coaches decide he is, I hope he's back. I do believe some sacrifice must be made with a 2nd chance - which is why I'm only in favor if Alex returns as a walk-on. Never forget - while the situations are not the same, this program's turnaround is all because UA decided to give another man who made a big mistake a second chance.
  7. But they sure as hell need another reliable scorer with Diggs gone next season.
  8. This is where we disagree. Averaged 10/6 last year while shooting 39% from three-point range. And, most importantly, has three years of experience running KD's system. He'd make Treadwell, Kretzer, McAdams, and everyone else better. He'd immediately be the 2nd best player on the team behind Tree. He'd could be the difference between a result like last night's and a MAC Championship next year. I'd love to find a JUCO that could have the same impact. I'm just not sure that's realistic.
  9. I can fully accept if people don't think the baggage that will come with AA is worth it, but I'm amazed at how much some are discounting the impact he could have on the basketball side of things.
  10. Akron scored their 47th point at the 10:33 mark. They scored their 48th point at the 2:34 mark. Over the course of that 7:59, they were 0-3 from the line, 0-5 from the field, and turned the ball over 3 times. They had 3 assist in the entire 2nd half.
  11. I know we've discussed this at length, I'm just curious where people stand now that the decision will likely be coming in the next few months.
  12. I think we'll be very good again next year, good enough to win the MAC. My worry is 2015-2016...
  13. So for those that follow high school closely how did Williams look this year? What kind of impact will he have at Akron? Anyone you'd compare his game to?
  14. Anyone with insight on what to expect from Gladden and Jackson and the potential impact they could make? Looking around the MAC, here's who the top teams will be losing: Akron - Diggs Buffalo - McCrea, Freelove, Oldham, Nuiriankh Ohio - Kellogg, Hall, Johnson, Smith, Wilkins Can't - Goodson, Henniger, Tabb, Vedder Toledo - Pearson, Smith, Beatty Western Michigan - Whittington, Brown Eastern Michigan - Riley, Sims, Hughley, Bryant, Strickland, Harrison
  15. Projected Roster C-Johnson/Forsythe F-Treadwell/Cheatham F-Kretzer/McAdams/Aa. Jackson G-Ibitayo/Gladden/Evans G-Robotham/An. Jackson/Betancourt Redshirt: Ivey, Wilson
  16. I expect them to try to get in one of the two.
  17. I love the TWC move, but then again, I have TWC...
  18. Final four are set!
  19. Miami vs Ohio will be very, very interesting. On Saturday the Redhawks had Ohio beat. With Miami up four with 1:14 left on the clock, this happened: - Miami missed three pointer - Ohio scored on Ndour layup - Miami turnover - Ohio turnover - Foul on OU - Miami missed front end of one-and-one - Ohio missed three pointer - Foul on OU - Miami missed front end of one-and-one - Ohio scored on Ndour layup to send the game to overtime, which OU won Four chances to put it away in regulation, four missed opportunities...and on Senior Night. If that doesn't pump the Redhawks up for this rematch, I don't know what will.
  20. How about some predictions? Here's mine: 1st Round 5-Ohio over 12-Ball State 9-Can't State over 8-Miami 7-Northern Illinois over 10-Bowling Green 6-Eastern Michigan over 11-Central Michigan 2nd Round 9-Can't State over 5-Ohio 7-Northern Illinois over 6-Eastern Michigan Quarterfinals 4-Akron over 9-Can't State 3-Buffalo over Northern Illinois Semi-Finals 4-Akron over 1-Western Michigan 3-Buffalo over 2-Toledo Championship Game 4-Akron over 3-Buffalo
  21. I don't know what is crazier, that you said this or that I agree with it.
  22. Romeo Travis (7th All-Time Zips Scoring) finished his 3rd year with 1,013 points. Treadwell has 1,018 with 1 regular season game left in his third season. Tree is on pace to be the highest scorer of the KD Era.
