Toledo was much worse. Honestly, I had a feeling tonight would be bad for us due to Harney/Kretzer/McAdams all being out. We were full strength when Toledo handed it to us.

If things stand as is, I wonder if Ivey will play immediately.

Hopefully Harney is back soon (in time for Wednesday?) and we get Jake back in time for Buffalo at the latest.

I'm not sure you know 100% of anyone. Maybe a spouse, but beyond that it's unlikely. Dambrot doesn't know everything about Alex, but I'm sure he knows him well enough to know if he's truly turned a corner in his life and if he's sincere in his effort to make amends or if he just wants to play basketball to try to make money (I always thought he was good enough to play overseas). Keith Dambrot takes this program's reputation very, very seriously. I trust him 100% to make the correct decision.

It's really looking like Akron might have to run the table now to snag a top two seed. Western Michigan and Toledo play each other so one will end up with four losses, but both own the tiebreaker against UA.

Would it affect anyone's opinion if Alex finished up with Akron as a non-scholarship player?

I've long thought the best way to "sell" Alex Abreu returning for a final season is him for to pay his own way - play as a non-scholarship player. Just saying.

There's a big difference between hearing rumors and being "connected", which you illustrate perfectly.

1) The first bold part I fixed for you. 2) The second bold part is ridiculous. 3) No offense, but being a recent graduate doesn't make you "connected" 4) Nobody is giving Harney a pass. His actions deserve consequences and they are being handed down to him. What I am trying to point out is acting like the "fix" is as simple as "getting his act together" as you said earlier in this thread in extremely short-sighted. I have no problem with frustration - I'm frustrated...we all are. But you don't know Nick Harney (I don't either). You don't know what he's gone through or what he's going through. All I'm asking is you don't act like you do.

Aren't we talking about Nick Harney? If you truly care about the program, I'd hope you look at these guys more as human beings than just basketball players. That's your call though. I guess it's easy for someone to dismiss Nick Harney as someone who needs to "grow up" if they know very little about Nick Harney, his background, and the personal issues he has.

Do you realize how strict our program's expectations are compared to other MAC schools and, even more so, to all other schools in the NCAA? Do you even know what Harney's situation is? With all due respect, I'd guess the answer to both questions is "no"

A few things... 1) On the season, Reggie McAdams is shooting .406% from deep while Jake Kretzer is hitting at a .344% clip. In the Zips' three losses, McAdams and Kretzer are a combined 8 for 26 - .308%. They had plenty of good looks tonight but just couldn't get them to drop. Jake is ice-cold - 4 of 24 over the last five games. They need at least one (if not both) to get going to make a run at the MAC Title. 2) Pat Forsythe is playing his way to the bench. Not only did "Big Dog" get the start tonight, but Kwan earned more time as well. We might not see much of Pat down the stretch, especially if Harney returns. 3) We're still in good shape. We may be gunning for the #2 seed unless Toledo really falters, but if we're the last team standing at the Q I'm OK with that.

There's nothing wrong with Dambrot questioning the officials on a few very questionable calls that helped determine the game. #3 is being overlooked by a lot of folks. How was that not a technical foul? I'd love to hear an explanation from officials.

If Rivals is accurate we'd have some pretty stuff competition for the kid.

If I raised my son the right way I wouldn't worry about what his teammates did - I'd trust that the morals and values of my son would guide him to success. I'd also see a man in Keith Dambrot who, when he could have easily walked out on Alex Abreu for screwing his team and their chance at an NCAA Tournament run, stuck by Abreu and trust him with my son. I'd see Dambrot visiting him in jail, helping him through the legal process, and trying to, at the very least, help him finish his degree and get his life back on track. I'd see a coaching staff that has proven themselves to care as much about taking high school boys into their program and turning them into solid men as they do winning basketball games. I'd trust that coaching staff to make the best decision for the program and, if that included Alex, trust them in that decision.

I work full-time, have a 1 year old, and use the weekends to catch up on things I can't get done during the week. I arrived at the JAR at 10:30 and stayed the entire game. Just saying.

I agree 100%. Too much is made of "joining" the AK-Rowdies. If you're a UA student and have a pulse, there should be an open student section seat for you every game with a cheap Zips shirt sitting on your chair.

Were all of those students though? It seems like with GA, a lot of people sit among the students.
