  1. Last time I knew Rachel Tecca is doing great in Iceland, and Hanna Luburgh has started a blog talking about how each day is going for her in Poland. Just in case anyone wants to stay up to date how her pro career is going, here is her blog: http://hluburgh14.weebly.com/

  2. Good drive, and glad Pohl took a sack instead of forcing a throw and a turnover. Any points is good points, which is why I don't understand why you put a freshman kicker in this environment. Has Stein really regressed that much!?!?!??!?!
  3. It's Game Day!!!!!! I would like a win, but a close game in that environment would tell me that we will be good enough to compete for the MAC East title this season and a bowl game. Penn State 34 Akron 28
  4. I wonder what connection, if any, the guy that picked Akron has with the MAC. It just seems weird seeing a "Big Ten" writer picking all 3 MAC teams to beat Big Ten teams in the same week. That's all. He has CMU beating Purdue, NIU beating Northwestern, and Akron beating Penn State. Could be a big week for the MAC!
  5. When watching this, I can tell Penn State will be more prepared for us than Coach Hoke and Michigan were last season. Starting at 2:15 is the Akron talk
  6. I may be mistaken, but is 18:40 mark of this video the "new uniform"?
  7. As I find these videos and articles about the freshmen, I'll post them on here. An Akron freshman is #1 on this list
  8. Oops, I was thinking of a different sport. Thanks, Z.I.P. Still no confirmation if Florida Gators were one, but all they said was "recruited by Florida". Could be just Florida in general, which could have been numerous schools. I do know for a fact though that she had several Big Ten schools that were looking forward to her commitment to their school. I've seen her a couple times the past few seasons, and I can say that she is quicker than what you may think by highlight videos. I see her being the replacement for Kelly DeNiro. That's the role I see her in. That attacking midfielder role.

  10. Here's the commit: #10 Rachel Baughman, Louisville High School, Class of 2015 http://www.wkyc.com/story/local/2013/09/26/3276503/ Highlight videos: International's U-15 Red: Freshman season at Louisville(2011) :
  11. Until I get confirmation that I can share it(which I expect in a matter of days), all I can say at this point is Coach Croft just got the program a top notch player in this class. Numerous power conference schools wanted this player, and I heard that one of them may have been the Florida Gators. Instead, she chose staying close to home(entering her senior year of high school 29 miles southeast of Akron) than to go to a big program. Great pickup by the Lady Zips. Once I get the word I can publicly say it, I will post her highlight videos of 2011, 2012, and 2013 seasons on here. Plus, I'll PM anyone that wants the schedule to check out her game and her high school team if you want to do so. Potentially, the best recruit Coach Croft has had since he was hired at Akron to replace Coach Pfau. Once again, great job by Coach Croft and the staff for getting this student athlete to stay in Northeast Ohio!!!!!!
  12. I think we'll see the recruiting classes getting better and better with the MAC Championship on resume for Kest and the rest of her staff now. That stability has really helped them. You'll only see the classes get better and better as long as the staff stays in tact.
  13. Very intriguing. Verbally committed to Butler, and then decided to change to Akron. Solid 5'10 player. For some reason, the article link won't work. Here's the story: BY Mark Kern, Northeast Ohio Media Group "CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio -- Walsh Jesuit girls basketball playerLilli Piper has decided to stay close to home to play her college basketball, as the senior will play her college basketball at Akron, according to her high school coach, Pete Zaccari. Last season, Piper averaged 12.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists while helping the Warriors go 18-6 on the season. Piper had originally committed to Butler last season, but changed her mind and will now play her college basketball only 15 minutes away from her high school. Piper was not immediately available when contacted."
  14. Oh okay. I figured that year counted against her due to the transfer. I'll make the change.
  15. I figured to get a little scholarship chart going on here for the Lady Zips program. I apologize about the title. Meant to type "Lady Zips 2014-2015 and Beyond". My guess was Coach Jackson was talking about a future class, not adding to this one. https://twitter.com/CoachJackson21/status/488345595434639362
  16. Unless Can't State has a colossal 9th inning collapse, It will be #4 Can't State vs #7 Akron in the MAC Championship with one game to decide it all. Noon start.
  17. Hoping for WMU to win game #1 today...that way no matter who we play tomorrow, we'll have two chances to win the MAC Championship
  18. Runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out? Come on Zips!!!! Finish this!!!! We can't afford to go to the 13th inning!!!!
  19. Yeah, I agree with that. My point about umpires needing to wake up was the fact early on they weren't really paying attention. I remember one check swing was appealed to first base and the first base umpire wasn't paying attention. He was looking into center field. Then the bunt attempt that was hit by a pitch and the umpires first signaled it as a foul ball. And then that infamous "great catch"
  20. We have had 9-10 baserunners left on base. We had bases loaded each of the first 3 innings even with our 3 runs. Each of those went double play, double play, strikeout/controversial left field catch.... We have had our chances. No excuse that Buffalo is in this game with 4-5 errors.
  21. These umpires need to wake up!!!!!!!!!!
  22. MAC Semifinals are : undefeated #4 Can't State vs one loss #8 Western Michigan undefeated #7 Akron vs one loss #6 Buffalo #1 Ball State, #2 Central Michigan, #3 Miami(OH), and #5 Bowling Green have been eliminated.

  24. Lady Zips are the #3 seed in the MAC tournament. They play #6 seed tonight at Firestone Stadium in Akron at 8:00pm due to rain delay. Today's slate of games: Noon - #4 Can't State vs #5 Ohio 2:30pm- #1 Ball State vs #8 Miami(OH) 5:30pm- #2 Buffalo vs #7 Northern Illinois 8:00pm- #3 Akron vs #6 Central Michigan
  25. Yeah, saw that the other day. She's attempting to play overseas. This will at least make the recruiting more intriguing for Kest that can say someone that came to Akron got a tryout in the WNBA.
