  1. Wowee. re: Miami/BG http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/here-is-how-to-turn-victory-into-defeat-in-99-yards-1819251667?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
  2. I think EMU is pretty legit. Potentially a top 3 MAC squad. Still not sold on Buffalo. I think the jury is still out on them. Wins vs Kent, Colgate, and FAU don't impress me much.
  3. Almost up there with App St and Michigan?! LOL. We will see how it looks when the season plays out. I would be its more along the lines of 6-6 VT beating OSU.
  4. I don't think I've watched them yet, but I would lean towards mediocre. It's hard to get a good read on them based on results. Wins vs Rhode Island, Kansas, and now Ohio. 3 score + losses to Boston College, Syracuse, and Miami (OH).
  5. I haven't thought WMU was near as good as last season to begin with. Toledo is in a league or their own this year, IMO. I believe my Z-fund bet is with Hilltopper, so this one obviously has big implications. Concentrate on stopping the run and make that QB and those WRs beat you is what I would do. I do predict Darius Phillips will have a return for a TD. He is a legit play maker. They even have used him on offense some.
  6. Agree with most others. A game I actually enjoyed watching for the first time since at least early last season (I can't really remember). Even though Ball State is probably a bottom 3-4 team in the MAC, it was nice to see us pretty much kick ass. Agree that Sands and Morgan should be top 2 RBs and it seemed to be trending that way via snap count as the game went on. Agree the WR rotation should tightened up. I'm tired of targeting #17. It almost never results in a completion. Chapman really does need to catch the ball better, but I like his YAC ability. In no order, Coney, Wolf, Smith, and Chapman should be the top 4. With some Bickley, Stewart, and possibly Williams sprinkled in to see if any of those guys can make an impact. I'm not super high on Bickley myself, but he has shown to make plays with the ball in his hands. He was a starter at the beginning of the season, but seemed to get injured and is now out of the rotation completely. Pretty pleased with the defense. Bend but not break, and came up with stops when we needed to. How about a shout out to Trevor Brown ( @Zipmlady ). He did a heck of a job on the hyped-nation's-sack leader Winbush yesterday. The whole O-line actually seemed to do a pretty good job. Not sure how I feel about Woody and the overthrow comments. A few of them were to #17, who I said, never seems to be a completion when targeted. Deep throws are never high completion throws to begin with and its not like he is throwing to studs. Wind could have played a factor, the kicker's had trouble getting the ball to stay on the tee. I would probably like to see him connect on 1 or 2 more realistically. Its not like he was missing guys with nobody within 5 yards of them. They might have barely had a step. The throw to Kwad was beautiful. Yeah, yeah Ball St was missing two of their best players. Last time I checked, our offensive and defensive captains are out for the year. I do think their freshman WR and RB have bright futures. Clearly Ball St's two best players on offense yesterday. Sidenote: I was not able to watch the game until late last night. I have never noticed how horrible Reghi and Cherry were!! Reghi must have called Sands a true freshman 10 times, among other errors.
  7. Buffalo with their backup QB took WMU to 7 OTs. The "up and coming" Redhawks of Miami lost to friggin BGSU. MAC East favorite Ohio lost to Central Michigan. CFB is awesome!
  8. Great win with your back up QB, from Stark County no less.
  9. Looks like whatever this is is going to be held in or at the Gridiron Bar & Grille (formerly the infamous BWW's), if it hasn't close down. Hibachi Express seems to be a Japanese restaurant on Brown St and Island Jamz is Cody Grice's food business maybe?!
  10. Ahh Nate The Great.... I remember playing against him my freshmen year of high school in a passing scrimmage. Hell of an arm. He almost beat Michigan once too.
  11. This might be the most positive post I have seen out of you on here
  12. Maybe Kato will get in for a series or two again as a change of pace and loosen that Cardinals run D up
  13. It's homecoming, our club level seats are sold out (lol), I'm feeling a nice performance from the Zips. We will beat the spread and create multiple turnovers. I do not have much confidence in us breaking the 100 yard mark in rushing, however. The 3 headed monster that WMU has at RB didn't break that amount by a whole lot.
  14. I didn't even know he got cut again!
  15. Yeah I remember us offering Keye Thompson and was a little bummed he chose OU. Maybe we can get lucky and change his mind..... Looks like Collier is a senior. I wonder why he transferred to East from Hoban. Per 247, he has an offer from Minnesota and YSU. Brimage to me sort of looks like a man amongst boys whenever it seems that East uses him (I've only seen highlights, and I imagine he doesn't get much use on a team that is run heavy like they are). I thought I remembered us offering Williams. Maybe I'm mistaken. Apparently not showing any interest at all in Pallotta is a little disheartening, considering we don't have a QB yet for this class. Seems to have great size and has FBS offers to WKU and UMASS.
  16. Newman Williams did play some running back in high school...........probably a high risk of injury there though if past experience predicts the future.
  17. East named High School Sports Insider team of the week. http://citybeat-tv.com/?page=watch&show=4 Their only loss is to 5-1 Jackson by 7 points, even though they really haven't played anyone outside of Dover. Looking at their schedule, the city series seems to be a joke anymore talent wise. The typical negative nancy's on here like to bash anyone getting excited about recruiting local players, but 4 of the 6 who have made it here this year are getting playing time (Brimage, Sampson, Burkhart, and Booker) as true freshman, whether it be on special teams, spot duty, or a pretty regular contributor. They must not be too bad. @Blue & GoldYou are the resident local high school expert here. Are any of our current local commits really standing out to you or do you have anyone else in mind to keep an eye on that hasn't been offered?
  18. We're we not creative with MTB last year? Have we not used 2 TE sets multiple times this year? I get that one of the fun things to do on this board is bash Milwee, but he towards the bottom on my list of concerns/gripes regarding the team.
  19. That is a bummer...I somehow did not see the hit/injury on the field but wish the best of luck to Zach. He represented our program well on and off the field.
  20. thats gonna look sexy.
  21. Kyron is a baller. He has nice size for a corner as well. I wonder what the chance of him going pro is......but then again I thought DeAndre Scott had a good chance
  22. He has been returning kickoffs so I think he is fine. I'd like to see him get some more carries as well.
  23. Sounds like a fair statement.
  24. Ball State looked rough last night. I would say it's s must win if we hope to go bowling/Bowden to save his job.
