I have been very critical of Alfred Koroma; perhaps my expectations were unrealistically high. I certainly bought into the hype. Upon reflection, I have found his impact to be more subtle than originally thought. Korma is sorely missed in the lineup. He is a bona fide match changer. He is not a Darren Mattocks, a cold Finisher. He is more of a Teal Bunbury, a well-rounded Forward. He definitely belongs in the first 11. A good October by Koroma will be necessary for Zips to win the Championship.

Now that is vintage stuff. Only the old guard will recall that.

The Serna at LB produced some mixed results early on. That experiment is officially over now.

Well, back to the nominal topic. Dillon Serna will not be successful in the MLS if he plays like he did tonight against St. John. He errantly passed the ball at least 10 times. He needs another year @ Akron.

Excellent stuff, as always, Andy. Love it! One disagreement: I think Serna did fine vs. ND. It was only after Quinn's ejection did Serna start to wear down. You attending tonight?

It will be interesting to see how populated the west end zone is tonight.

If your analysis is accurate, the entire squad will be gutted, especially if the underclassmen HGPs leave. That would de-emphasize the continuity argument for hiring Jared Embick. Not sure how to feel about that.

Maybe he stays, maybe he goes. All I know is that Serna looks great at LB.

I must disagree, Mike. A national contender will bring the crowds.

I do not specifically recall the 1978 match, but I was probably present. It is tough to remember when Indiana was not good. I, for one, cannot. I know we got them in 1986. Remember Lee Jackson was so wet that they moved the match to Buchtel Field. They set up snow fences to keep back the crowd. Everyone just tore the fence to shreds. By the end of the match, the rabid crowd was practically on the field. That was perhaps the most brutally violent NCAA match ever (see Shaun Docking).
