  1. Hope E is doing well. Wow. I recognize many of the names on that roster.
  2. Nah. Bruce Arena coached DC United to 2 MLS Championships (and several other trophies), coached the USMNT through 3 World Cups, coached LA Galaxy to 2 MLS Championships (and other trophies). It is still mentioned on TV Broadcasts that Bruce Arena won 5 NCAA titles with University of Virginia. The last of which was 20 years ago. His NCAA championships will never be forgotten in soccer circles. And Virginia has won it all twice since Arena left (as we well know) under George Gelnovitch. But nobody in Virginia has forgotten Bruce Arena. So let it be with Caleb Porter. His contribution to Zips soccer will never be forgotten by locals, or by nationals. But he has moved on to other success. And so have we. Jared Embick's team has it all in front of them. These current Zips are worthy of the College Cup and just as likely to win it as any of these other squads.
  3. Out of "Like This" for the day. (How stupid is that?) skip-zip, you are right on the mark! Bravo!
  4. Well, Perry Kitchen did grow up in Indianapolis, after all.
  5. Why/How did Perry Kitchen get a Lamborghini?
  6. Not everyone was satisfied with yesterday's result. Producers of live television broadcasts must remain vigilant. Cute girl in a less than proud moment! https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/75C93DA30B1285431288123793408_497bdceb015.4.1.17746175970246861912.mp4?versionId=ITMEd_SwPopS2jtAEkoAIiWZZdB8cgb7
  7. I want to attend the match vs. Creighton RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!
  8. The #6 shirt has become a hallowed jersey in Akron Zips lore! Agreed? We are the keepers of such things.
  9. J.R. Eskilson of Top Drawer Soccer predicts Creighton advancing on PKs. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soccer-articles/ncaa-mens-tourney:-quarterfinals-preview_aid38489
  10. vs. Creighton Saturday, December 5th @ 16:00. #2ndStar.
  11. http://news.ashland.edu/article/slawson-named-au-men%E2%80%99s-soccer-head-coach This guy will be sorely missed.
  12. "Why do I think Elmer Bolowich will have something cooked up for Akron. Creighton is a tough, physical bunch that takes away what teams do best. They luv to foul and the ref in this game is going to be a key as to how much physicality is allowed in this marquee matchup. Creighton luvs to push the envelope. With their game against UNC, Creighton just sat in the weeds against UNC game and hurt the heels on the counter. They have a couple of Snipers (Timo Pitter - seems this guy been around for years) that are deadly. They play with an edge. Going to be a interesting chess match." -tman- (tman is frequent contributor to BigSoccer, especially regarding Maryland Terrapins.)
  13. Dude, you must make it! Got to. Things have not been the same without you! There is desperate need for some remedial AK-Rowdie training.
  14. Really? The nerve of some! Well, let us give them a proper Akron welcome!
  15. http://www.gocreighton.com/index.aspx?path=msoc This side is scary good, with several professional prospects throughout the roster. Remember this guy? http://www.gocreighton.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2518&path=msoc If you need the painful reminder, read about his freshman year. This guy is the MF workhorse who has been on a bit of a scoring streak lately. http://www.gocreighton.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2517&path=msocBut the real monster is this one, arguably the best player in collegiate soccer. http://www.gocreighton.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2510&path=msoc Pro scouts are drooling over his size/speed/skill/IQ combination.

  17. You coming in town to remind us of how to properly do this? Good!
  18. Scotty, I got your ticket! Just let me know ahead of time. Please attend!
  19. Hard to argue with Soares, and I agree with how he is really coming into form. But my MOTM is Holthusen. He terrified the SMU back line all match long.
  20. Ruhaak's diving header into the upper 90 would have made Sports Center had it not been on his own goal. We love you, Brad.
  21. It is likely many of the afore-mentioned will be watching the webstream of the Zips' match. But none will attend the match. Not even Ben Zemanski, who has no chance of playing in the MLS final, will attend. These men have a job to do. Part of that job is focusing on their business at hand. That concentration begins the day before the actual match, probably even earlier than that. There are other Zips in the pros out there. It would not be surprising to see one of them in attendance. Evan Bush? Saad Abdul-Salaam? Eric Stevenson? Scotty Caldwell, if you show up, I will buy your ticket! Seriously.
