  1. Are other athletic fields considered in this stupid idea? Baseball, Softball, Track?
  2. Exposure is not a tangible benefit unto itself. It is not easily measured. Those working in advertising will readily concede that point. Yes, there is a burden of proof for someone to bear. Prove that Browns training camp will benefit the University of Akron. Until you can provide concrete evidence that Browns’ training camp will quantifiably benefit UA, your assumptions to that end will continue to be rejected. It is perfectly reasonable, bearing witness to the physical laws of the universe, to assume that large bodies laboring strenuously will dramatically, perhaps irrevocably, impact a grass surface. To argue otherwise is plain silly.
  3. Bring the Browns. Fine. Leave FE/CC alone! We like collecting rent from the Browns. We do not like sacrificing our soccer pitch to do it. Build a practice field for the Browns. Or don't. But leave FE/CC unmolested. If there is a "full impact" or "big picture," I want to see it prior to any agreement. Show me the cost/benefit analysis. Sorry, but the sad track record of UA Administrations have made me distrustful of them and their true motives, throughout the decades. Professional administrators will move on to brighter stops in their careers within the next few years, but the decisions they make will remain with the folks in the UA community for much longer. They do not care about us; we would be foolish to imagine that they do.
  4. I do remember. Andrew is neither quick of foot nor shifty, but he is surprisingly fast in the straight away. Good endurance. I see him practicing his left long ball all the time in warm-ups. He understands what is required from the position and is willing to do it. There is no tougher player in NCAA than 2Souders. Tenacious. Very dependable. Excellent tackler of the ball. Technical without flash. Love Andrew Souders! He may be our answer at LB for this season and the next.
  5. Weird story! Wonder where this one goes.
  6. Now wait a minute! Nobody said anything about visible football lines on the field! That is why I want to see the details of this arrangement. The presumption is that FE/CC would be completely re-sodded, removing all evidence of the Browns practicing there. The beauty of FE/CC is a recruiting tool for the soccer programs, and is therefore critical to these programs' success. The Athletic Department should not lose sight of that fact.
  7. Yes. Let us wait for the hard data to discuss this further. But do not forget to follow up. I trust you will share the response to your well-written letter.
  8. Here is the 4-2-3-1 formation and lineup successfully employed versus both UCF and Harford. Several substitutes saw significant action. I am not sure what was more surprising, that Souders was moved from CB to LB, or that he was so serviceable at LB. I like it when the coaches are smarter than me. At CB, 20Ruhaak is solid and 14Cregan continues to impress. 15Garcia is here to stay at AMF. His stature and non-stop short passing reminds me of Ampaipitakwong. He does not practice hard, so I dismissed him as a starter, judging from the practices I have witnessed. He has proven to be a real gamer. 2W-2L-1D Onward and upward!
  9. Agreed. Let us see the cost benefit analysis. Better yet, task the masters level business planning program. Graduate students can perform the analysis. It appears fairly straight forward. Key thing: This analysis must be made public, along with the entire recovery plan PRIOR to signing of anything.
  10. 3Abdul-Salaam played the best I have seen him play in years.
  11. Ah. That give a new meaning to "special arrangement".
  12. No. And there is no indication whatsoever that this is being considered by anyone who matters. 13Sepe is quick and has good endurance for those long runs. His offensive acumen is at a level we have been lacking from LB position. He is also a very good tackler. I say try him there. Back line cannot afford to start more than one frosh at a time, and 14Cregan looks like he will get his shot at CB tonight vs. UCF.
  13. Plans for tonight are meet in Manny's Pub.
  14. Here is how I would trot out the team. There have been numerous changes recently, so just about anything goes.....
  15. Awesome! Thanks for the link.
  16. Excellent points, Zip_ME87! Folks are calling for Embick's job? No soccer coach worth his salt would ever suffer the insult of any team practicing on his pitch. Dowdy likely would not. Parker would not. Lolla would not. Porter definitely would not. Embick absolutely should not! I am a lifelong Browns fan. I love the Cleveland Browns. But renting out FACC to them for practice is unconscionable! Should any Athletic Director or University President acquiesce to such idiocy, I will enthusiastically and vociferously campaign for their ouster.
  17. Finally, something on 8Victor Souto! As stated before, Victor will essentially have no post season, regardless of Zips' fortunes. Paul Warner is gone? That explains some things.
  18. Now, if we can just beat somebody.............
  19. Well, somebody has got to say it; Zips are no longer even getting votes. http://www.nscaatv.com/rankings/3199/NCAADivisionI/men/Poll2 When was the last time we were not even in the honorable mention?
  20. This story seems too stupid to be credible.
  21. Yes, after adjusting our expectations from the start, we should be positive out of this draw. A gritty if sloppy result on the road in consecutive 2OT match within 48 hours. We were first to score. 14Cregan looks a better option at CB than 5Radjen, no disrespect intended.
  22. It's a beautiful sunset. No wait, GOAL Najem!!
  23. It certainly must have happened before, but I cannot recall ever being 0-2-0 (W-L-D).
  24. Seems like a rough game, judging from the cards and from the sparse tweets.
