  1. @ AK_ZIP90: I actually think that you are right on both accounts, upon further review. OK. 13Cregan/24Fenlason miscommunication smash-up was right out of the 3 Stooges. Been there, done that, but I felt really dumb after the stars left my eyes. Cregan will likely cringe when watching the game film. That is GK's ball, Bryce. Worry about shielding the opposing forward away from your GK.
  2. Agreed. Best overall effort this season. Why did 2Souders exit the match at HT, not to return? Maybe it was that horrendous (stupid) collision with 24Fenlason.
  3. UA 3-0 UM Zips really took it to them tonight.
  4. These clashes are very physical - every year. There will be more cards than goals, to be sure. The rain will favor the bigger visitors. Zips might consider man-marking #17. http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/colin_mcatee_769888.html http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-soccer/mich-m-soccer-body.html Wear the screw-ins boys!
  5. Zips still hovering in the relegation zone around 30 RPI. We probably need to win out, or at least not lose, to get an NCAA Tourney home match. Obviously, we first need to win the MAC to get the auto bid. http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpi
  6. 22Dambrot played offensive midfield over 15Garcia? 27Quirk played forward over 13Sepe? Same 4-2-3-1? Curious.
  7. I wonder at formation and positions.
  8. You have a more accurate calculator, Zach. But 14 in 10 is still not good enough. Championship squads score 1.5 goals per match.
  9. Won't make it Saturday. But I remember the 2010 match well. It was the Perry Kitchen show; he controlled everything in the middle. I remember shouting "Kitchen's ball" every BG punt or goal kick.
  10. The tale of Zips MSOC 2014 will be written in the next 7 days. Sat. 11 at Bowling Green * Bowling Green, Ohio 7:00 PM Tue. 14 Michigan FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field 7:00 PM Live stats Fri. 17 West Virginia * FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field 7:00 PM Live stats http://www.gozips.com/sports/msoc/2014-15/schedule
  11. Moderators - Move to appropriate thread entitled Michigan State?
  12. Unfortunately, this is the only poll that truly counts. For the first time that I can remember, RPI is working in our favor. Zips have improved from #60 last week to #29 this week. http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1/ncaa-mens-soccer-rpi Sparty is #30.
  13. 2Andrew Souders has really proven his quality this season. His assist vs. UAB was simplistic beauty.
  14. Wow. Is that true? DCU have never won without Perry Kitchen in the lineup since his arrival? No way! That cannot be true. If it is true, more should be made of it.
  15. http://www.uabsports.com/sports/m-soccer/albr-m-soccer-body.html Anyone remember this guy? 10 navarrete diego Diego Navarrete Forward 71 5-11 165 7 SR Santiago, Chile/SSCC Manquehue (Chile)
  16. 8Souto should remain in the PK rotation. Scotty's OT PK miss vs. Creighton in 2012 was the most painful PK result I have ever endured, as fan, as coach, or as player. And believe you me, I have a long list of miseries. Thanks for slicing open the scar tissue.
  17. Good point! Why scout for future opponents? Moratorium on video replay of OUR PKs! PKs are rarely anything special anyway.
  18. I like your idea. I would add 13Sean Sepe and 10Adam Najem to the rotation.
  19. PKs should be automatic. We all know that is not the case. Considering only the physical laws of the universe, every PK everywhere should be converted. The primary obstacle is psychological. Much better players than 8Victor Souto have missed PKs in much worse fashion. Ref. Roberto Baggio WC 1994. This was a loss, but not a bad loss. I am more concerned about surrendering 2 goals within 5 minutes than I am about failing to convert the PK. Onward and upward! UAB has RPI points for the taking!
  20. Excellent RPI result for Zips!
  21. Yeah. How can this be? http://www.wakeforestsports.com/sports/m-soccer/sched/wake-m-soccer-sched.html
  22. As always, pass along all FREE streams. It is a tall order for Zips to get out of Wake Forest with any result whatsoever. I would be happy with a draw. But we have beaten them before on their turf in 2010. Need to clean up ball management from our CBs and GK. 30% of all goals worldwide are from defensive turnovers. No mistakes! BTW, Demon Deacons have awsome unis!
