i thought UCSB was supposed to be that.... Hey UCSB is a top 20 team...Michigan is a bottom dweller this year
-
Time to forget this one...maybe this was our "Cleveland State" for this season
-
Hey man, I like your outlook and I have to agree no matter what the outcome of this game.
-
"Watching" on game tracker....stats seem fairly even though
-
Hopefully that continues until we win in the OT when they probably give it to the guy who scores....they get all the good press
-
Same could be said for all the "top teams" this season. There is no clear cut dominant team so we are clearly as good as anyone else
-
no still 0-0 but u conn down 2-0 with 8 min left
-
I would hate to be New Mexico
-
I can't watch game and just saw that it won't be on radio Frequent updates on zipsnation would be greatly appreciated

Remaining schedule is not a help: (RPI)149 Michigan145 Buffalo102 Bowling Green58 Wake Forest87 Michigan State123 Florida Atlantic You are correct but remember the teams that are currently ranked 1-5 still need to win out for everything to remain exactly as it is at playoff time and that is impossible. I will be rooting big time for UNC on Friday as they meet Maryland. Conference tournaments also loom very large as well. I think we are fine so long as we don't stumble -

I think that is true. But I will argue that is better for us to be under rated than over at this time. I would rather them have something to prove....and work to prove it.No, we need a top 4 seed for the Tournament to be guaranteed home games through to the Final Four. The prospects of playing UConn or Maryland on the road are ominous. Absolutely agree that we need a top 4 seed. We are in total control as if we win out I think it is a lock. Will be hoping UNC can take down Maryland on Friday and than Bakersfield beats New Mexico. -

Nice win. Total domination. Shots 27-2 !! Corners 14-1 !! SOG 12-0 !! We need an effort like that for 90 minutes.

So far so good. Mayland tied with Duke and UNC tied with Cof C . Both at half. If Duke and Cof C come through with wins we will be sitting pretty probably at number two with a win tomorrow. -
Thanks for the link

It is difficult for me to say anything about DeAndre but I wish they would look to his side and play the ball there a lot more than they do. Often times he is there without a defender within ten yards of him but the ball gets played up the middle or he takes off down the side and no one seems to notice. I alluded to my obervation that we don't play to the outside anywhere often enough in other posts. I wish he would also try and go inside on his runs as it would open up a whole other dimension of his play.

Do not be confused; you are seeing things correctly. See Porter's post game interview. He says pretty much what you said. That second half was NOT championship soccer. I think that is the first time this season that Porter seemed genuinely displeased with the teams' efforts.

Are there any substitution retrictions in college soccer?? I thought the rules were similar to international rules. Nope, unlimited substitutions. However, a player cannot re-enter a game in the same half that he left in. EDIT: No re-entry in the first half - One re-entry in the second half I wish I knew for sure -- I thought it was the opposite -- no re-entry for second half. Can someone find the actual rules on line? -- I've looked and can't find. If you start second half you can be subbed out and come back in. If you sub in in second half and then come out you are finished for the game.

I totally agree with your observation about not playing the ball to the outside. I have noticed this to be a problem all season long. Too much emphasis on playing straight ahead. Playing laterally consistently would open up the middle and allow an attack to occur from any point on the field. They are being too predictibe.

The Creighton loss is HUGE. Missouri State is unranked. Zips might move up to the top four. I think that's a DEFINITE top 4 as long as we beat the hawks on Saturday. In fact,if U Conn, NC,or Maryland stumble over the weekend who knows how high we will be ranked next Tuesday when the NSCAA poll is released. BTW first official RPI rankings are released on Oct 18.
