  1. Unfortunately I don't see Blair Gavin in any of the photos we have, but I do see the other two. Plus many more from Zips nation. Photos from USA vs Canada Watch Party
  2. I certainly hope and that area soccer fans come out in full support too. On a Friday evening in May of 2006, 30,000 were in Cleveland stadium to watch the USA win 2-0 over Venezuela. Michael Bradley's first cap. Ching and Dempsey scored. That was a fun night.
  3. I'm not sure who the first is, but I know George Nanchoff earned a cap with the USMNT. The great thing is this will be an A squad in Cleveland as the USMNT have 3 crucial World Cup Qualifying matches in the weeks to follow.
  4. Yeah, we definitely missed out on the photo shot, but I didn't want to embarrass Yaznasty anymore than I did. haha! When I receive our photos from last night, I'll look through to see if he's in the background. This will be fun! USA vs Belgium in Cleveland.
  5. Is this a reference to Garrett McNamara? Surfs up!
  6. Bradenton, FL - IMG Academy EDIT: Chad Barson and Wil Trapp mentions
  7. I can't find the match statistics, but he played in a friendly against Mali. I know his brother is currently on the team playing in the African Cup of Nations. I'm pretty sure Steve is still eligible to play for either of the three since it was a Friendly. Congo DR, England, and the USA. http://www.soundersfc.com/news/articles/20...y-dr-congo.aspx
  8. 20 year old on the youth team? Interesting. Not saying it's bad, but I consider youth team U-18. Only photo or info I could find on him. I sent a question asking some Corinthian fans if they ever heard the name. http://www.footballzz.com/jogador.php?id=2...mp;epoca_id=140
  9. I read that report too before I stumbled on this photo of Nanchoff in a Timbers kit. Twitter Portland NASN

  11. I guess he did. Ty Sanda tweets that he is bound for Akron Twitter SIHS Top Drawer Profile Link
  12. You can add Mr. Soccer Ohio to the list of commitments to Akron. Tyler Sanda
  13. Montreal just drafted Cleveland St. goalkeeper Brad Stuver. They really like those NE Ohio goalkeepers. I really didn't expect Meves to get drafted today. He might get an opportunity in the supplemental draft.
  14. After the draft, there will be some movement in teams filling in positions and depth. I'm curious if Meves will get picked up late in the draft tomorrow or will he need to wait until the supplemental draft.
  15. Anyone keeping tabs on to how David Meves been doing in the MLS combine? Only article I stumbled across today with a mention of David. MLS Combine: Wild 2-2 draw opens Day 3 in Florida David Meves: MLS Profile
  16. Porter reeled in another Zip. Congrats to Pablo Moreira!

  19. These two were just released on Ohio.com Caleb Porter style will work in MLS, former UA stars say Caleb Porter shares Top 11 Memories from the past 7 seasons
  20. Gallego was not the only Zip, Porter and Portland were trying to acquire. Keeping Trapp in Black & Gold Trapp's coach at Akron and new Portland Timbers Head Coach Caleb Porter apparently made a tempting proposition to the Crew for the midfielder's talents. "[Portland] was aggressive to relatively more than aggressive to obtain his services," Bliss revealed. "It only makes sense. [Porter] has familiarity with him, but [Trapp] has just as much history with the Crew than he does at Akron. At the end of the day, it doesn't make sense for the club or the player for what we're trying to accomplish here. We respect the fact that they made an offer and some other teams did as well, but it wasn't something we were willing to do." I wonder if Portland approached Columbus first for Trapp and after getting turned down, went after Gallego to be the future defensive midfielder in Portland or maybe Porter just wanted to stack the Timbers with talent.
