  1. Drove by UA on the way to the All Star Game Saturday and I must say it is an utter disgrace how bad the streets are around campus. Exchange St is absolutely nothing but potholes and uneven pavement. Countless untreated side streets like Sherman and Cross which are basically ice skating rings. And then add all the highway construction into the equation. I honestly don't blame anyone who choose not to attend Akron Home Games past and remaining. It is not worth the wear and tear on your car. I feel for folks who have to deal with that daily. They would have to put me in jail if I still lived there because I would be on the UA President and Mayor's a$$ daily. Your Tax Dollars deserve better
  2. When I criticize = I get banned So no comment from me
  3. Its a bitter rivalry folks They swept us this season winning on our floor Let them players be We will get em next time Hopefully in Cleveland in a few weeks.
  4. Im fine with Kent talking that talk. They got the W on our floor and the Season Sweep. Can't be sore losers.
  5. Watching this game I see too much Blue Brick Walls I have no clue whats going on behind the East Rim. The Band section looks half empty behind the West Rim. Many moons ago back in 2002 Hipster Era I remember when the ticket office gave free tickets to students when they actually had bleachers behind the rims which was the dedicated AK-Rowdie section. New Arena Please
  6. I wish this game wasn't a week before NBA all star weekend. Will be up there the following week
  7. Yeh i agree Akron is no longer a destination especially downtown. Was last there for Romeo Travis jersey retirement. After the game he had a private get together at a lounge on Main Street and that was back when literally the whole street was closed off and tore up. I couldn't believe my eyes trying to cross the street in that mess from where I parked. I feel for the businesses down there. At this point I believe it would make more sense to focus more on turning the area into a true College town. It would be a win win for the area as a whole to have a multi purpose arena to help attract events to the region on a regular helping to boost the economy. In reference I look at Uconn who uses a downtown and still uses their old smaller arena on campus. Georgetown Also. The Jar can still be used for games.
  8. I would like to see a new Arena Downtown. With the ongoing overall decline of Akron in regards to the downtown economy and population I would also like to see UA grow and expand more downtown. For example, I lived in Richmond Virginia in the mid to late 90's. At that time the city was on a decline. Since then VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) which was originally a small commuter school has rapidly expanded and took over downtown Richmond. I believe UA can rebound and do the same.
  9. I was part of the original staff that opened the rec center back in 2004 - 2007. During my time there the auxiliary gym did not get much traffic however it was used for many Table Events. The rubber surface in there was not popular but at times the aux served its purpose when other activities like badminton was set up in the main gym. I see them knocking down the outer wall to either extend or create a private entrance.
  10. 1. YSU would kick Akron's ass TODAY 2. Hoban would kick Akron's ass TODAY And so you sh!t on 1-AA when there are folks in here who believe Akron Football is basically 1-AA
  11. Tyrrell was a tight ends/tackles coach at Youngstown State from 1991-2001. He has college level experience But hey lets continue to make empty ass assumptions. Yall do it so well How about read the man's background for a change https://www.cleveland.com/highschoolsports/article/archbishop-hoban-hires-former-louisville-st-thomas-aquinas-coach-tim-tyrrell-to-lead-football-team/
  12. Surrounded by a tone deaf clueless culture that continues to plague the program Legit criticism matters Legit criticism persuades change
  13. I can name quite a few he has through friends and family who live there but I will respect their privacy. Bron is wise enough not to put his name on everything so negative folks like you can hate on him.
  14. If you believe Lebron has not had and continue to have a positive impact on the Akron Economy you are a goddamn Fool Your mentality is exactly why I got the hell out of there.
  15. Want to change the program? Stop being a copy cat following the old stale formula and hire the local coach up the road who is on the verge of winning a 6th State Championship Make him an offer he can't refuse

  18. Rooting for a school located in the former rubber capital of the world that use to be loaded with companies that outsourced their jobs overseas Hmmm wonder why they did that? But yeah lets single out Nike Yeah that makes perfect sense
  19. Its like folks are maaaad we left the Germans (Adidas)
  20. Well as of now from the outside looking in Lebron is damn near the only one pouring $$$ into the community where you see quick results. The city sure ain't doing a damn thing. I sympathize with Akron folks because living in a bubble they don't know no better. They are use to living in crap. Akron has literally been surrounded by orange cones the past 5 years. So Lets not criticize any effort given And lol at criticizing Nike when damn near all the crap in your home comes from the same place
