I disagree with the logic. Being content with Akron basically being a stepping stone for coaches to move up is the wrong mentality to have. We should be more focused on building a program from a solid foundation on up. The collegiate sports climate in regards to Basketball & Football is not engraved in stone. We will remain a Mid Major as long as we all believe thats all we can be.

Im speaking on a young hungry assistant worthy of the position. I rather invest my money in his program compared to guy I know will be gone on the first phone call. To me he is the enemy. Bobcat blood. I would feel the same if we got a former Kent State coach. Could my opinion change? Yes of course

True but at this point I rather gamble on a coach who hasn't left the mid major level and fell flat on his face and now trying to get back vs someone who is young, hungry and trying to establish themselves.

Im sorry but I am not sold on Groce and will probably never be because I know he is coming to us with one foot out the door. If the phone rings he is chasing the money. He is basically using us for self. This is a short term solution that will capitalize off our hard earned money

Im out of likes. I agree 100% The current state of the MAC reminds me of teams in the Colonial Athletic Association a few years back where they were pretty much going through the same situation. VCU, George Mason, Richmond and Old Dominion all left for the exact same reason we are enduring in the MAC.

12 Conference Teams 18 Years = No At Large Im sorry but I find it hard to believe that a lack of strength of schedule is the reasoning for no MAC team getting a bid the past 18 years. Arguably our best team in school history 26–7 (13–3) in 2007 lost the MAC Tourney Final on a buzzer beater and didn't even get a NIT bid. We are defending a conference who hasn't done a good enough job defending itself

Sorry but I disagree. The MAC hasn't had an at large bid since Miami of Ohio in 1999. Thats unacceptable. The perception and respect of the MAC is an absolute joke and the Commish is basically a puss for never speaking up and defending the conference. I wish Akron would up and leave as the MAC does not benefit us at all.
