  1. If Steiner is indeed gone, I'm curious who will do the long-snapping. I enjoyed watching him snap the ball and hustle downfield to make a play.
  2. Here is another article on a new stadium (FAU's) with plenty of Youtube Tom quotes.
  3. Grass on the hill looks to be in excellent shape. It's almost as if he's throwing you a few bones on Day 5, good Doctor! Chisholm and Rossi (great to hear he's practicing) combine for a nice blitz pick up. And the front seven, not surprisingly, is playing well. You have to admit, the guy looks pretty confident and relaxed right now.
  4. Enemy's first practice was lead by a sleep deprived first time coach. Advantage Zips! Word is, Rob sleeps like a baby before practices.
  5. Nice work, Keener! Can't wait to see it on game day In his 4th camp report, iCoach returns to his signature "GoZips" fastball.
  6. Split practice...check Shoulder pads...check Being physical...check Making progress...check Know just as much before, and after I watched...check Go Zips UNCHECK?!
  7. Here are reports #1 and #2 from camp.
  8. Since he was suspended for the final 2 games of last season, I'll question that one. Good point. Russell was suspended during that time also. Maybe he was more willing to buy into the program in the off-season?
  9. Ianello does mention on the latest video that Hall had a conversation with his position coach (presumably Latina) and said he wanted to go closer to home.
  10. Isn't he our first verbal? Yes indeed. Franco was 2nd. I don't think we have a 3rd yet.
  11. Thanks B&G! This summarizes the recent iCoach video and then some.
  12. Not a bad place to drill.
  13. Thanks I guess I didn't have anything else to do last night I did see in the BJ article that B&G posted where Williamson is indeed not eligible until 2012, but Favors was apparently a 2010 grayshirt so he should be in the mix at TE this year I suppose.
  14. How do you know they are coming to UA? Go to GoZips.com and watch iCoach's latest video. He mentions them right after he reveals that Hall has left the program. It's around the 4:00 mark. I'm assuming both Williamson and Favors won't be eligible until 2012, but I'm only speculating. Still, they look like decent "gets".
  15. Williamson certainly has the SPEED! I wonder if he'll also run for Coach Mitchell?
  16. Favors had some nice offers coming out of high school.
  17. While Richard Hall is gone, WR DJ Williamson has transferred from Michigan and TE Justin Favors is also with the team. Favors originally signed with Colorado but did not qualify. DJ Williamson bio Favors bio
  18. Well that sucks But I guess that means it's time for Will Fleming to shine.
  19. Outstanding! It looks like he'll be joining his Serbian squad in POOL B for the games. It'll be interesting to see how he does. Hopefully this will help him in preparing for BOTH the 2011-2012 Zip season AND his subsequent European career. I hope the Serb coach teaches him the art of the lay up. He'll increase is scoring average by 6ppg this season if he can consistently make the 2-ft bank shot. No doubt! Here is the Serbian roster for the games. He and another Nikola from URI are the only US college players. Good link. It helped me learn some Serbian. I had no idea that "pictured below" in Serbian is "in BOLD letters."

  22. I know the score of these games won't really mean that much, but THIS might provide an early 2011-2012 frame of reference since McGill will be playing 5 other NCAA D-1 squads in addition to the Zips (including Illinois St and UCF). It looks like UQAM is also playing a few of these NCAA schools including UA. It's interesting that McGill actually defeated UVa back in 2008.
  23. Add Sinisa Ubiparipovic to the growing list of ex-Zips on the Impact's roster. I like DeSantis' quote:
  24. Here is yet ANOTHER uncomplimentary prognostication. It's pretty funny how these clowns act like they know each of these programs so well. This guy thinks that putting Bre Ford at safety is silly because he set rushing records at Bethel Park HS. Nevermind that Bre started in the secondary for the Black Hawks beginning with his sophomore year (when his team made it to the PA state AAAA championship game). Here is one blogger who is in for a shock once #44 gets unleashed.
  25. Like many of these predictions, it's hard to argue against given the results of 2010. But I'm a little skeptical of any "system" that places Toledo FOURTH in the MAC West . The Rockets are "Saturn V" loaded this year. I'll add this as well. If I read the tables correctly, they're saying that there is only a 23% chance of the Zips winning 5 or more games in 2011. That's roughly 3 or 4 to 1 odds depending on the "vig". I'd risk some lettuce on that action
