  1. PD coverage with some nice things to say about Williams. He's really played well in these all-star games. His quickness appears to standout in particular, but it's also nice to hear about his ability to catch the ball downfield. I'm excited to see him in the fall. I think we may have found our punt returner for the next 4 years.
  2. This guy lists five possible candidates that he's heard mentioned, after a lengthy rant about how our coaching search is taking too long. Little has been found of who may be considered for Akron's next coach but these five names have been mentioned. Michigan assistant Matt Husted Ex-Notre Dame Head Coach Dave Schrage Ex-Wake Forest Rick Rembielak Wayne State Head Coach Ryan Kelley Wright State assistant Greg Lovelady Watch it end up being some random guy who spent time with our AD at Wisky or Minnesota. I thought this guy sounded familiar. He was HC at K.E.N.T. prior to Wake and, of course, had much success there. It'd be interesting to see if he'd even have any interest here.
  3. CBS Sports Summary of Best and Worst APRs Much of this can be attributed to a coaching change, but this has to turn around in parallel with the product on the field if iCoach is to have long term success here.
  4. And we could be "settin' a spell"
  5. Can't wait to see the result of the OU game on September 10th. VMI, FIU & KSPU 2 pm games work pretty good. Tailgating and you are able to go out at night. G-Webb has a new coach this year. Their OT win here apparently didn't carry over very far, as their old coach was canned I see a fair number of MAC-Big South encounters. Hopefully there won't be any surprises this year, especially when the Keydets come rolling into town. A rather sobering fact from last year is that non-scholly Bobby Moe (Robert Morris) managed to defeat Big South champs Liberty in the same season as the Zips were losing at home to Big South also-ran G-Webb. That's where we were. Let's see how far we can move forward in a year. That same Liberty team beat Ball State last year. Exactly. I really should have titled this "2011 Starting Times". Here is another story focusing on the Zips.

  7. MAC announces 2011 football schedule including TV games Only SOME kickoff times have been established. Temple game is at 6:00 pm......good for all day tailgate
  8. Hammy keeps Rossi out of Big 33 It still sounds like he'll be evaluated at H-back first and foremost here.
  9. Get ready to edit your list, Zach DE/LB Jason Stargel Jr Man, I sure hope hit hits like Willie
  10. I went with September......right after the Zips shock MAC East favorites Temple 35-24
  11. Offer: WR Anthony Nash
  12. Birkbeck Article Edit: Link doesn't seem to work. Here is the text: It'd be great to get both him and his son, but it sure doesn't seem like that will happen.
  13. Slow newsday
  14. Thanks, Johnny. I'll put that shot of 'Z-tine' next to the one of Blair Gavin -- both beating LandyCakes to the ball. Hey -- Chivas plays @Houston tomorrow. I haven't seen Kofie play yet this season -- and I think he has as much potential, skill-wise and athletically as any of the Class of Twenty-Ten. Chivas plays as well or better on the road than any team in MLS. Kofi's lack of minutes early in the season has been the most surprising to me. But it does look like he's been getting more opportunities lately. I agree 100% regarding his potential. Perhaps he's having a little trouble adjusting to playing a more traditional defender role as opposed to the freelancing he was permitted to do as a Zip (the Zip D was so consistent and solid, Kofi was frequently available to make deep runs without the risk of giving up a counter).
  15. ESPN Blog on the UA "Reunion" in LA
  16. I know this covers all sports, but I figured it would fit here as well as anywhere. Link I thought the following quote was interesting. The 3 outsiders must be UA, EMU and K.E.N.T.?
  17. Link Another story from the Beacon
  18. Yet another wrap-up on the game, with not much mention of Tyrell beyond him being named MVP. There is an interesting tidbit at the end with regards to a Temple recruit. It's a perfect example of why many coaches hate these games.
  19. There is some argument as to which vest Tressel will be wearing to work this fall. all-time classic!
  20. Nice find, Dr Z! I think Goodman definitely sees the field this fall in some capacity. Did you notice there was also a blurb about a preferred walkon RB (Sidney Weston) ZTZ had mentioned a while back?
  21. Thank, TexanMark! Always good to hear from you. Here is another small write-up on Goodman. I've been curious about this guy from day 1. Is there any chance he competes at QB? At first I thought "no way" and I still think it's a longshot, but stranger things have happened I suppose.
  22. And the Zips were reasonably competetive against these guys.
  23. Here's a column that might make you........(music please) laugh a little puke a little maybe even put up your dukes a little no one's friending the no one's mending the Vest you might want to wince a little smile a little ponder all things vile a little that's the trend of the that's the end of the Vest
  24. Cool smiley! Look at Steve-O running away with it at 74% of the vote.
