  1. The selection committee is in a tough spot with Miami. The bubble has collapsed, all of the bubble teams fell apart. Miami went and lost to a .500 MAC school in the tournament, but they're 31-1. Miami's 11/11 Dayton game would be its first against even a Q2 opponent., but all of these bubble teams are 18-15 or some crap too. I don't envy that discussion that they're gonna have. I kinda think just because of the 31-1 (and I think the MAC is a little better at basketball than it's given credit for), they probably should be in...likely a play-in game, but in. But I wouldn't be shook up if they instead are a 1 in the NIT.
  2. OK dumb question...have they said where the two teams' seating sections are?
  3. Akron and Kent didn't play in the MAC Tournament last year.
  4. Kinda looks like this is very possible
  5. I think just how bad the bubble has been, they're gonna get in. I think it might be a trip to Dayton, but they're gonna get in.
  6. You might go to jail for Accessory to Murder or something
  7. I do think ultimately, they could have found 16 teams to play. However, multiple of those 16 teams were going to be in that 10-22 record range with crowds worse than most of the Covid year games.
  8. Yeah so I'm not gonna make fun of anyone's hairline
  9. It's really kinda sad.
  10. Yeah so Miami's in a lot of trouble
  11. The time has probably (long long long since, I know) come for Reghi to call it a day.
  12. Florida State is bigger than any Big 12 brand. Clemson likely is as well. The Big 12 is the more secure league because they then probably have the next six-eight marketable brands after those two, but not so "marketable" as to be interesting enough to the SEC or B1G. Miami is good at spending on the football, but their brand isn't as big as much of the Big 12. They're heard of, sure, but just don't bring the eyeballs. UNC isn't good at the sport that matters for media dollars, and they don't seem to outwardly care about it. They're not a brand the B1G or SEC would have much interest in until they fix that (which is probably why the weird desperation play for Belichick).
  13. The Big 12 is probably interested in half of the ACC brands. The Big Ten might be interested in two. Not sure anyone beyond Florida State or Clemson moves the needle enough for media rights. And not even sure those two do. Basketball doesn't matter, not enough money there to bother.
  14. The B12 is multiple steps behind the P2. It's also at the very least a half step ahead of the ACC.
  15. That makes a lot more sense, hahaha! I just don't see the ACC at the Big 12's level right now.
  16. Other than flipping the Big 12 and ACC in this comment, this is why it doesn't make much sense for teams to be spending big to go from G6 to G6.
  17. I can't confirm, but a Saturday makes a lot more sense than a Friday. The new AD seems to be doing a lot more work getting the community behind the team than we're used to, so I'd just be surprised if it were a Friday.
  18. This also feels reasonably cost-effective.
  19. Most places that get a bad rap aren't really as bad as they're made out to be.
  20. And if somehow they end up in the NIT, they won't be on the road.
  21. Straight up, I have zero source material. Totally a gut feeling.
  22. This is honestly why I think the MAC is trying to not be done with 2026 additions.
  23. It truly doesn't matter. You win the MAC tournament, you go dancing...you lose it, you're biting your nails as to whether or not you get a home game in the Not Invited Tournament.
  24. Totally agree. It's just not necessary. Kinda surprised the officials can't T the crowd up for that
