No one watches MAC football on the TV anyways and with teams like Toledo and Miami and whoever else leaving anyways...their next TV deal really needs to just force the issue with "let's try something different with the TV timeouts." A TV timeout 29 seconds before the effing warning?

But yeah JMU just feels like it makes a lot more sense than Miami. While the empty stadium games hurt everyone in the MAC and probably aren't fully indicative of what the teams can draw with a decent schedule, Miami doesn't draw much better than Akron.

I don't need more fool's gold. We already know Coach 14-40 isn't taking Akron anywhere. I'd rather play schools that someone has heard of. BUT, your argument is reasonable. I can see why some want to do that. Just, we don't need to be paying schools to come to Akron so we can draw 4,000 people.

This is fair. I meant this in comparison solely to the Robert Morris game. If the goal is to get a nonleague home game, I'd rather it be against a JMU instead of a "who cares" FCS team. Even with the likely loss potential.

Hah yeah that game's getting cancelled with the MAC going to 9 conference games. Akron couldn't possibly get rid of the FCS game they pay for (!!!) or the buy games. If we're not gonna win anything anyways, I'd rather play teams like James Madison than Robert Morris.

This, 100%. Play the same 9 teams every single year. I can get behind a 12-team league that has two divisions so you at least get the same 5 teams every year and a relatively consistent smattering of the other six teams. And on days when fans can show up.

The Sun Belt absolutely becomes a possibility, and I think Miami/Ohio might go there as a combo. The MAC is in deep deep trouble, and no number of empty stadium night games is going to fix that.
