  1. That we're getting embarrassed in every way by Kent State is certainly something. But we are definitely getting embarrassed in every way by Kent State right now.
  2. We're talking about an opportunity to get in front of a public that has largely tuned them out. While there were moments last year that made you think they were trying, now we know that was fool's gold and it's same old same old and they'd rather just let the thing rot. The last time they announced a 50% full house was 2019. They just told the public they don't care if they ever do it again.
  3. The people that run this unserious program apparently are scared that teams may want something from their 13-35 head coach. Yeah, maybe St. Francis on their way to D3.
  4. They were 5-7 with a rather favorable schedule a year after being 4-8 with a less favorable one. There are no signs the program is actually improving, and they're then doing this to make sure they can't generate any local buzz.
  5. And yet completely predictable by this unserious group.
  6. Moorhead has 13 wins in four years with a questionable upward trajectory. Getting fans is more important than worrying if we'll lose an AAL backup linebacker.
  7. Well, the goodwill I thought they seemed to be building with the Tuesday Kent crowd was in fact a mirage.
  8. They'd all have entered the portal. Akron is a "have not." That's how it works now. You are, however, correct on the first point - who did express interest? Would it be better? Maybe...but those three guys were entering the portal no matter who Akron hired (or even if Groce stayed).
  9. Akron is a mid-major. Those are three players that are very possibly going to get paid actual P5 money (at least enough of a chance to review it). You could have hired John Calipari with Rick Pitino as his top assistant and they were all entering the portal. That's how it is. You hire the guy to keep the program going as best you feel they can without worrying about individual players, because in today's world they aren't staying here.
  10. To be fair, maybe the blogger named that urinal Nemer was using "Europe."
  11. Give or take, yep. This year was likely the MAC's ceiling going forward without significant reining in of the portal and NIL, which...good luck with that. And that ceiling was their star teams getting beat by 20 and 22 in the round of 64.
  12. Yes, though Wyoming doesn't have another D1 school that's more popular with that population area than they are.
  13. Obviously a little different given Wyoming is the state's only four-year public school (there's also a Catholic College with <200 students in the state).
  14. Since he's not getting another decent job anyways, I'm not sure how much he cares about the harm
  15. ***25 - Indoor field's only 50 yards Kidding aside the TAL has had reasonably OK indoor football attendance in their two years. Some teams better than others, but good attendance for what is a reasonably low-budget operation (even by indoor football standards). Given a name like Terry Bowden (even if he doesn't take it seriously), I'd expect Monroe to be in that "better than others" category.
  16. Ah thank you. Something tells me he's not gonna be watching the TAL games on Youtube this summer...but you never know.
  17. Very true. I am comfortable the Guardians' FO is strong enough to weather those storms, but the whole structure will change with a cap coming.
  18. I'm missing the reference here, sorry
  19. Just think what would be if the Dolans actually tried to win. They might actually be contenders if/when baseball goes to a salary cap (that has a strict floor tied to it)
  20. In the world of indoor football, the TAL has been pretty stable, and it's a 9-week 8-game (regular season) commitment with probably a 2-3 week training camp beforehand. It's not a huge time commitment as coaching goes, and frankly he probably can get a few guys who stayed around ULM after he coached there (in addition to whatever else they conjure up). As the season goes from May 30 - July 25 (with two weeks for playoffs IIRC), it wouldn't interfere with whatever HS stuff Terry's doing. I believe it's an 18-man roster with 7v7 and no kicking. As coaching jobs go, it's probably not going to be real stressful for him.
  21. Apparently Terry got bored. This summer he'll be coaching Monroe (LA) in The Arena League, a 7-on-7 indoor football league. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18ovTiBYFU/
  22. Hey, that's one of the moments of all time
  23. Minor league baseball has done this successfully for years and years.
