I don't believe this is a done deal. I think Coach Bowden wants more information about the pending charges before he offers this young man. It may not be the right fit. But I wouldn't worry about it - he will get the best possible players this season, and the next and the next, etc.

As a college football analyst, writer, commentator for over 10 years, the media still considers Coach TB one of the top experts in college football. And guess what? He is. Go Zips!

He is in fantastic shape --- and was not out of coaching because of the throat cancer... When FSU booted Bobby out, the first person Jimbo got rid of was Coach Amato. Pretty much got rid of everyone loyal to Coach Bowden.

I didn't believe it until I actually saw it for myself... I spent quite a bit of time in the south over the past few years for work, and I have to tell you, some of it actually scared me.

I don't know that name - I'm sorry..but that doesn't mean anything! I'm sure Coach Bowden is going thru a mountain of resumes and making a ton of phone calls right about now.

You guys ACTUALLY get it! It is absolutely amazing how the fans in Alabama actually react to things.. Coach got a speeding ticket in a dealer car. He forgot to pay it. He got the notice when he picked up his mail in Alabama recently, and happened to call the courthouse to pay the fine earlier today. Such a coincidence that a "reporter" put it on his Facebook page, and it has grown to the proportions it has in a matter of a few hours. Amazing!

You're exactly right. Same reason Texas Tech had such a great run with Mike Leach. With the type of offense that Coach Bowden will be running, and the type of aggressive and relentless defense that Coach Amato will implement, the current players will flourish, while attracting new players to the program.

It is the offensive scheme we will see in 2012. Coach Bowden spent time at Oklahoma State with Dana Holgerson before he went to WVU studying that offense. Then sent a few assistants including Tank Arrington and and I believe AJ (before he left for the Ju Co job) to WVU to spend time with Coach Holgerson and staff learning it also.

This is all according to the rumor websites and will continue to be just a rumor until the university puts out a press release later this week. There are still some spots that haven't been mentioned, like the TE/FB coach or special teams coach. Milwee (East Mississippi CC QB Coach) WR Coach - Jeff Bowden (North Alabama WR Coach) Defense: Defensive Coordinator / Associate Head Coach - Chuck Amato (Unemployed while recovering from cancer) DL Coach - Todd Stroud (Colorado State DL coach) LB Coach - John Pont (Miami Ohio Grad Assistant) Safeties Coach - Mike Woodford (New Mexico DB Coach) CB Coach - Terrell Buckley (Florida State Assistant S&C Coach) Coach TB will be the offensive coordinator. John Pont will coach on the other side of the ball. Coach Amato will coach LBs. There will be a new football S&C coach as well.

It's all still "rumor" until the University can release the information. The NCAA has been closed for the holiday, and I believe all coaches have to be "checked" before the University can hire them and then - announce them.. Everything I've read here - with the exception of one post - sounds just about right to me..
