Try to look at the glass half full. We forgot about Zips beating Northwestern who beat Wisconsin yesterday. Bowden is a pretty loyal guy. I don't see him getting rid of Milwee. The MAC is a pretty good conference this year. E .Michigan and Miami are both decent programs now. E Michigan beat Purdue earlier in the season and Purdue taking out the OSU a weeks ago.

Boy that was a close call!
-
Must win game next week. Offense better get it going!
-
We are still a mediocre MAC team. Embarrassing performance last two ESPN games. Thought the big point spread before the game would motivate these guys. Would of liked to see Woodson in the game, to maybe spark something, and let him play in his last bowl game.
-
I think a bowl bid, he is safe. Another 5-7 he may be gone. Bo Pellini not leaving YSU, unless another big school offer comes his way.
-
Who do we hire if Bowden goes? Another no name coordinator? Paul Winters still available? He's getting up in age also.
-
We have lost to a top tier Big 10 and an improved Big 12 team which I expected. Lets see what they do in the MAC before we run Bowden out of town.

Good Hire. Hopefully we can win in the post-season with coach Groce. KD was good enough to win in the MAC, but that was about it. Got old of "one and done" in KD's tournament appearances. We need a coach that can take us to the next level. Hey, Jim Christian coached at KSU and than ended up at OU for a couple years.

Back to the drawing board. If we can stay healthy, we should be ok. Too many injuries, and not much experienced depth led to this. Hopefully we can stay healthy and get back to a bowl game.
-
Too many injuries on the defense, and not much depth. Got to be able too stop somebody and stop making opposing MAC running backs look like all-americans gaining close to 300 yards a game and keep breaking school records. C'mon Man

Everybody needs to calm down. Terry Bowden has brought the program back to respectability, He needs to take the next step with a winning season and a bowl game. The school has already built state of the art football facilities along with a gorgeous stadium. Why turn back now. We have to much invested already. Winning cures a lot of ills. The school has done their part spending a ton of money on these facilities, its time for Akron Football to start winning more games and create an interest around the community and campus.

I don't mind adding another Ohio school. It would be good for northeast Ohio, close geographical rivals. Akron, Can't and YSU. I would be more interested us playing them, rather than UMass, Temple, or JMU, out of state nobody's.
-
How about bringing YSU into the MAC. With big names of Tressel and Pelini, it can only help the MAC's image. We all talk about the rival between Akron and Cant, but back in the day when I played for the Zips (80's), YSU and Akron was also a big northeast Ohio rivalry. We played for the rubber tire, steel trophy back in the Dennison, Faust vs. Tressel years. I would love to see YSU in the MAC and renew this rivalry once again. When Akron left 1-AA in 1987 and became a 1-A school, that was the end of the rivalry. YSU stayed 1-AA and that was it for the play of the two schools.

POLL: How satisfied are you with the 2015 FB Class?

Most kids from Fla. Would have liked to see more Ohio kids. -
Staying in the MAC as a mid major, A 4500 seat renovated JAR would be fine. If I'm not mistaken, we haven't had 4000 fans in there yet this year.. The only games we may get over 4k is OU and Cant. Cant will sell out like it usually does because of the rivalry. OU has been a second place rival to us and than maybe Miami in third The new JAR seating maybe only effected with a big name opponent and the Can't game We may be able to play a big name opponent in the Q.. As far as I concerned renovate the JAR, I'm sure it will be nice when done.

I would love to see YSU in the MAC and renew our rivalry with them. -
The Zips hopefully get over the hump next year, but cannot take anybody lightly, We are not that point yet. Buffalo crushed us last year with an interim coach. Other teams circle us as a easy win. We need to change that.

Played Pitt in the late 80's early 90's (Huggins era), at the old coliseum in front of over 11k people. Great game, Pitt had a guy named Gerome Lane in that game. We can attract big crowds as long as we keep winning and bring in big name opponents. How many fans did we draw in the MAC tournament finals.

He put 1 million towards renovating St.V's gym a few years ago. Not sure what Lebron's worth, but I know he could afford building a downtown arena if he chose too. Easy for me to say, but obviously it would be his decision. He has a lot of pride in the city that he grew up in.

Lets look at the glass half full, no negativity. We have gotten spoiled that Akron has had multiple 20 win seasons, won multiple MAC championships, and able to keep KD from leaving for a bigger school. We will be getting a renovated JAR, which I think will be nice when done. We would love if our football team had this kind of success. Go to the games have a hotdog, nachos, and a cold pepsi and enjoy yourselves.

How are they going to complete phases in construction and have the JAR ready for volleyball in the fall and basketball in the winter. It seems like a small amount of time when you are doing demolition to the interior of the JAR, when you have a fall and winter sports using the facility. They are talking 2 story glass walled entry/foyer area, new concourses, seating, concessions, and restrooms. I know this will be done in phases if they do decide on renovating, but it will be interesting on how much of the JAR will be shut down during construction. I'm looking forward to see how it looks when its done.

The U of A administration is going to do what they are going to do. They are not going to listen to a bunch of blow hard - know it all's like myself and members of Zips Nation. I'm sure the 38 mil will give the 30 year old JAR a nice face lift. Why complain about it if it is inevitable. None of the money is coming out of our pockets. We will always be a mid - major program as long as we are in the MAC, which I don't think we will be leaving for the powerful C-USA, another mid - major conference. The downtown arena may never happen, so in the mean time renovate the JAR. Maybe a artist rendition on what they want to do would be helpful. Until we see what the JAR will look like after the renovation, we may be surprised how nice it may turnout. We only avg 3-4k at the JAR with a winning program, only sellout being Cant game. If we lose a few seats to gain chair backs by getting rid of the wooden bleachers would really be great.

Establish a winning culture in football and see what happens.

The two sports that matter in attendance are football and basketball.

People always go with a winner. Its easy to be an OSwho fan. I think Meyer only lost a couple games since he's been there. They even have a chance to play for a national championship. Easy place to win when you get all the 5 star recruits from Ohio and other states. Where the MAC schools fight for what's left. We (the MAC) and Cincinnati are always going to be second fiddle to the Columbus juggernaut. I'm not asking much, just have some winning season's, maybe a MAC championship every few years, and a chance to play in the "Famous Idaho Potato Bowl" or some other no name bowl. 12-14 k people in the Info would be fine.
