  1. You can forget about Dantley Cline in there. He's on the first bus back home. From what I hear, he got himself in some trouble.
  2. If you're gonna build a new stadium, you want it to be better then the one we have. The RB is falling apart, but it's a good design. I think along with moving it on campus, put some nice seats in it will increase attendance. With the older people that support the team, they would enjoy it more if they could, with paying a little more for the seat, sit in chaired seats with backs. Those hard benches don't do much for comfort while watching the game. The other thing is, you are paying more go watch a college team...you don't want the feel of a high school game. Grandstand style feels like Friday night at a HS game. Bowl the stadium. Just because it's a bowl doesn't mean it has to be built to seat 50k. It can be scaled down to seat what we could possibly fill in the future. I say build a bowled stadium, possibly a horseshoe design like the RB, build it to seat 25k, add some sections with comfortable seating, it will be a successful project!! What the hell was the one picture with grass seating? I am not paying money to go watch a game from the grass!!! Even for students, that sucks! Part of a good student section is cramming in the seats, shoulder to shoulder, high-fiving the person next to you after a great play. I don't want to run across the open grass to find someone to high five!!! Any stadium with open grass seating should be bulldozed. And P.S. YSUers need to stay on their own damn forums!! Work on your own POS stadium before criticizing or designing ours!!!
  3. Well, I believe all the controversy can be thrown out the window, b/c we will have somone new in there! Word has it, Cincinnati has made JD an offer. He won't pass that up! Bye-bye JD!! After this year, I won't miss him!
  4. Akron 20, WMU 17Defense will hold strong like they did against OU, scoring 7 of our 20 points. Special teams will contribute 2 short fieldgoals due to our inability to produce in the red zone, and our unproductive offense will contribute a measley 7 points. It will either come down to the defense holding WMU from scoring in the last seconds or our special teams kicking a winning field goal as our fans cover their eyes praying to all that is holy that it goes through the uprights! The other thing is....there are the few on the team that have had the desire, heart and discipline all season (Kasparek, Groza, Kiki, Jermaine, Cecchetti, Mackey, Alleman, Donaldson), problem is, it takes more than a few to make big things happen in a season. Hopefully JD does something to instill the MAC champion values into next year's team, or it's even more downhill from here!
  5. Lee Adams....believe me, I am one of the biggest critics of Luke, and this season has made everyone else realize what I have been saying about him since the beginning of last year, but he has put the ball within catching range of Jabari more than enough times for Jabari to get some good catches. More times than not, Jabari has dropped it. And for the awards I forgot......Most under-utilized: Agreed....Kris KasparekMost unhealthy: Agreed....Nate Robinson (But I still haven't figured out whether they are real injuries or mostly "I'm a baby" injuries.Biggest waste of space and scholarship money: Clarence McPherson..from everything I've heard, that kid has done nothing but complain and throw an attitude at anyone and anything that comes his way. Coaches should have let him walk when he wanted to.Most missed: Igor...he couldn't have possibly been worse than what we have!!!
  6. And this seasons awards:Most consistent: Crouch...too bad it was for consistent penalties and for being the most consistent worst player! Most disappointing: Getsy...I never liked the kid, but with all the pre-season hype, I was hoping he was going to prove me wrong this year! Unfortunately not! He needs to learn to take a hit...it may have resulted in MANY more completions this season!Biggest sissy: see aboveMost embarrassing: Entire kicking team.....any more soccer players that want a try? How bout basketball? Softball? ANYBODY?? We haven't found a good kicker yet. Most underrated: A. Walker and Lindsay...I'm looking forward to seeing more of each next year. I think with work this winter and spring, Walker can give Kennedy a run for his money...no pun intended. Most heart: Groza and the rest of the defense....proven in the OU gameMost overrated: Jabari. After his performance at the Bowl game last year, he was looked at to bring an explosion this season. Doesn't that require catching a ball first? The talent's there, but the basics need to come back. That was the problem with the whole team.Standout: Alleman. He was our OL at times when we thought we had nothing!
  7. All last week before the game, the only thing anyone had to say is that if Akron was going to win that game, Defense was going to have to do the job. I think they more than proved that they wanted to win that game. 3 forced turnovers and our offense couldn't capitalize on a single one of them! OUR OFFENSE SUCKS!!! A.) Getsy should have been drug out after the game and shot behind the stadium. I would rather see him take a sack for a 5 yd loss than throw and interception or toss another "help me God" shovel pass when he's feelin a little pressure. Then with that stupid intentional grounding! COME ON!!! He was voted a captain this season. If that is the best leader we could find, it's no wonder this team has looked like they have. B.) Defense came out and played with some heart! They only let 10 points be scored. 3 forced turnovers. Way to play boys! It's glad to see someone wanted that game! And all I can say to them is I'm sorry you were the only ones.C.) I am tired of watching our hot-doggin receivers. Harvey should have had his ass on the bench after that "wanna be like the bears" stunt in the endzone at the beginning of the game. And if Lindsay, Harvey and especially Jabari drop one more pass, they should all be on the bench. Kasparek is the only one that didn't drop a pass that game. I know he only had one shot, but tell me why he didn't get more ball time! And this seasons awards:Most consistent: Crouch...too bad it was for consistent penalties and for being the most consistent worst player! Most disappointing: Getsy...I never liked the kid, but with all the pre-season hype, I was hoping he was going to prove me wrong this year! Most embarrassing: Entire kicking team.....any more soccer players that want a try? How bout basketball? Softball? ANYBODY?? We haven't found a good kicker yet. Most underrated: A. Walker and LindsayMost heart: Groza and the rest of the defense....proven in the OU gameSee you at the next game!!
  8. Let me just say this.....I am one of the BIGGEST OSU fans out there!! And I have been counting the days until the game!!!! BUT......lets give BGSU and UT some respect! That was absolutely rediculous last night! I understand it wasn't a very exciting game, mostly due to the field conditions and inability to make any big plays in the mud, but COME ON! If they wanted to have a raving session about the OSU/Michigan game, why not just air a special at that time last night. To use a lesser division's game to focus on a Big Ten rivalry game is insulting to those 2 teams on the field. I also understand that it is a HUGE rivalry and THE biggest game in their history, but like I said, if you want to give them the airtime to discuss it, set up that special show and air that show instead of the game. And they should be smacked for the errorred records on the MAC record board. If you don't care enough about a conference to give it it's due, then DONT GIVE THEM ANY ATTENTION!!! I would rather have NO games aired on ESPN than to have a game aired and all the talk during the game be on 2 other teams. I find that as a bigger insult! They sure cared about the MAC last year when Akron had a major upset in the MACC didn't they? They loved the ratings they got from the MAC then didn't they!
  9. I agree with the no-huddle attack! I will give the game a little quicker pace, maybe catch the OU D off guard some. Also, it's sure to save us from another delay of game penalty that we have seen quite a few times this year!
  10. Three points here...1. There might be more people wearing green than red that day in Yager. And if not, well, we're louder than they are. Anyone who has seen OUr fans and their fans in the same place knows this.2. For whatever reason, Fiami is worse at home this year than on the road. Both their wins came away from Oxford. They just can't seem to get it together on their own field.3. Eastern Michigan has lost a whole bunch of close games too. Means they're a bad team. We've already taken care of the Eagles.Plus, we're looking to pay them back for eight years of misery. We're going to take it to them. EVeryone has their opinion, but point is.....THIS IS ZIPSNATION!!!! If you wanna talk about your school, go to YOUR school forum, NOT OURS!!!!!
  11. 1. We will all be in the same section. Look for the Blue and Gold!!!2. I think there's a good chance of a sellout, even though it's supposed to rain all night!3. No Idea4. As I said, look for the Blur and Gold....for a 7:30 game on a Thursday night, in Athens, in the rain, all those sporting the Blue and Gold are pretty damn faithful!!5. Can I just say that the biggest disappointment of this whole year is Tim Crouch! I was looking forward to him dominating the MAC this year! Boy, was I WAY WRONG!!!!! 6. As you said, the biggest thing that needs to change is the adjustments! During Can't and Toledo, we were sucking and there were no adjustments made to improve the situation. Then against buffalo, we looked pretty good and then they MAKE adjustments. Has our coaching staff ever heard the phrase "if it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!!!!!". And PLEASE, if it IS broke, FIX IT!!!!7. Let's hope not!!!See you in Athens, and GO ZIPS!!!
  12. I believe in Miami for 2 reasons......1.) they have shown incredible signs of life coming up to the end of the season here. They look like they are not going to quit just because they don't have a chance at the MACC this year. 2.) the game is in Oxford. If the game was at OU, I might think differently, but this game has always been a great rivalry! I think it may go in our favor. Miami has a poor record, but they have put up some good fights. They only lost by a TD AT Purdue, they only lost by 2 to Can't (where we got our asses beat), They only lost by 3 to NIU, and they only lost by 3 AT W. Michigan. The way I see it, if they can come close to beating Purdue, a Big Ten team, and W. Michigan, #2 in the West, both away from home, what's saying they CAN'T beat OU in their own stadium?I DO BELIEVE!!!!And with the good chance of Ball State beating Can't, and us beating OU (IF we come to play), things are looking up for the Zips!!
  13. I also heard McPherson is transferring. He has caused some problems on the team, and I heard that when coaches suspended him for a game, he wanted to transfer right then, but he couldn't. After seeing what has happened this season, I don't see JD taking the same shit from guys next year. If McPherson can't keep his crybaby, "I'm better than everybody" ways at Akron, he'll go somewhere where he can.
  14. Word on the street was the coach actually subtracted wrong ... are his assistants afraid to speak up or did they subtract wrong too?! Brain farts happen I was more confused on why they chose to decline the penalty that could've pushed us back from the goal line! And any idea why the ball at the goal line wasn't reviewed? Isn't that usually automatic by the refs when it is that close and there is any chance he was in?
  15. If he doesn't make it in the NFL, Reid is going to Canada. Hamilton drafted his rights last year. They obviously think he's got what it takes. And he's from Canada, so he has played the bigger field before.
  16. Canadian drivers license is different.....misunderstood.....if you are a U.S. citizen, you have to have your birth cert and ID. They give problems if you don't have Birth cert.
  17. you have to have birth certificate AND ID, correct? Because a drivers license alone doesn't prove citizenship.
  18. Don't count on that, the scouts like his arm, and in that case, scouts will overlook a less than stellar college career. Remember when the Browns drafted Spergon Wynn? He was a 1-aa quarterback who didn't even complete 50% of his college passes. I don't think Luke will be drafted but he'll get a shot in camp with somebody. Alleman will probably go late 6th to early 7th based on stellar workouts. Reid is too slow and will end up in Canada. Gonzales doesn't have good size (height, he's not the 6'2 he's listed at, more like 5-10) but will get a free agent contract somewhere. From what I've heard from a pretty reliable source, the scouts that WERE interested in Getsy have backed off an extreme amount. I don't see Luke making it in the league unless he comes out the end of this season against some good teams and make big plays. Reid is slower than last year...but that can improve with speed drills. I heard the Dolphins are looking hard at him. If he can improve his speed, he's got a chance in the 6th-7th round. With his speed last year, he was an animal. Gonzalez is around 6'[, but you're right about free agent chances. I'm interested to see all these boys once they get into post-season workouts. I lot can change within those workouts and combines. Can't wait til that April day comes around!
  19. International Bowl in Toronto is Jan 6 at noon
  20. You just contradicted yourself here.....you say in one comment that "this is about playoffs, bowl games and money...the better they play...the happier the fans...more butts in the seats...more playoffs...more bowls...more good recruits on and on and on...", but you also say that "i want to go to Toronto more than you do cause i went to Detroit twice". How can you want a winning team that brings more fans, money, recruits, etc, but say you want to go to Toronto b/c you've already been to Detroit. Going to Toronto would mean we would have to lose the chances of MACC. That's like OSU saying "we've been to the national championship, so I want to go to the Alamo Bowl this year!!" First, who would want to take less 'cause you've seen more before, and 2nd.....Make up ya damn mind!
  21. I've said it before, and I'll say it again....our D is better at stopping the run than they are at stopping the pass. Our secondary is aweful. As I said in the other post, our corners have been getting burnt all season. And in order to win the game, you have to have offense. And we don't...most of the time. Our offense is so sporatic. I walk into every game nervous....just hoping that it's a day the offense decides to show up. The only games they have shown signs of life were the NC State game, Bowling Green and Buffalo. And the latter 2 were against bad defenses. Points are what wins a game....and we need to learn how to get them! Our red zone play is horrible. D has had their fair share of mistakes, but let's be realistic....our main concern is our offense...at least until next year.
  22. and another thing.....neither of you must've been watching the game 'cause CJ's bomb of a pass was to Lindsay, not Harvey!
  23. In this post and the After Buffalo post, Lee Adams seems to believe the OU win will be determined by the D. Did he forget the production of our offense this year? In order to win a game, the offense does have to score. And as anyone who has seen the games this year knows, that's easier said that done with our offense. We don't exactly have red zone productivity! He has seemed to have all bad to say about the D and nothing to say about the O? Got a "friend" on the O or what's the reasoning?
  24. the arguement wasn't about the overall record of this season, and last season wasn't even in the conversation. The conversation was about this year's game against the Bulls. And I don't care if I've been to Detroit 50,000 times, i would love to go again this year. The D played good yesterday! They had a few mistakes, but let's not forget that the Bulls only scored 10 until the 4th quarter when they scored against our 2nd and 3rd string! That's not reflective of how our D played. You can't blame the "Regular" D for the last TD. The D has been playing better against rushing than they have against the pass. Have you not seen our secondary all season? They have no pass defense! Our corners have been getting blown out of the water!Agreed with knowalot! Let's go back and watch film from all the games this season. The major problems is our lack of blocking on the OL, the horrible passes from the QB, and when he does get a good one off, the dropped passes from receivers. Until the last few games (against bad defenses), Kennedy was averaging about 3 yards per run! That's horrible! Defense can allow TDs, but offense has to score in order to win! Cincinnati was the perfect example.....D held the Bearcats to 20 points (which everyone knows that, as tradition has it, when a D can hold a team to 21 points or less, they normally win the game!). Did we win at Cincy? NO!!! Our offense scored 14 points. Yeah, our defense has had their bad games, but a hell of a lot less than the offense!!And don't get me started on penalties......the offense has helped us gain the recognition of the most penalized team in the country! And I think we all know who most of that thanks can go to....or at least knowitall does!It doesn't take 75 years of watching football to see who is the better side of the ball!
  25. Guarantee the only shot we have at taking that many people again is if it close (Detroit or Toronto). Buses will not go to Birmingham or Mobile, and you know people won't do that on their own! So bring on the close bowls!
