I love it....and im a person who had NEVER been a soccer fan until this program hooked me. I can't believe how excited i am for a soccer team/stadium. Go SocceRoos

one of the coaches told me one time that a lot of it had to do with the better weather. we have less good weather days, so in order to play the same number of games we do double headers and sometimes as many as 4 games in 3 days. where they have better weather they have more days they can play on, so there isn't a need to have the double headers, giving those teams more rest. i'm sure the better climate affects talent as well in that they have more seasons they can play in.No doubt that has an effect. Add to that the ability to recruit talent locally that plays year round and you've got a combination that gives the SoCal and Southern teams the edge.

I had no idea they were div 2 then. The mens teams were in the OVC (1-AA), so I figured the women were also. Guess that means the competition is better now (or should be) which partly explains their drop-off in records.It's shocking regardless even if they were DII but it really just is so hard to compete with the southern and west coast schools in baseball and softball these days. Whether it's recruiting or just amount of talent to recruit locally, they have the edge with where they are at on the map.

At the men's basketball game on Wednesday I was sitting in the section with the North Side Rowdies and at halftime it was announced that the softball team was ranked nationally (I dont remember the exact ranking). Since then i have checked every poll and found the Zips in ZERO of them. Also i have confirmed that 5 people I know heard the anouncement as well so I dont think I'm going crazy.Anyone else hear this at the game or have an answer?

It used to have a subway in it... one of the only subways I ever saw with a drive thru.Me and my GF both ordered seafood&crab subs there and we both got really really nasty food poisoning from it. I think we could yes. But that's not the point, it's that we are deep and if anyone gets injured we have people behind them who could not only pick up where the other left off but possibly blossom into stars. I know it was a tough decision for KD on who he wanted to redshirt and who he wanted to play as true freshmen this year as well. Ya know we would have like 7 or 8 guys as seniors all at one time if he didnt redshirt a few of them so it's good to know that these guys are getting experience just being in the program and with the talent i've heard many of them have, it's scary to think how good we could be years.

It was worse than that. NIU only needed to inbound the ball, up by 2pts with about 5 seconds remaining, to win (K.e.n.t. would have fouled them). Instead, NIU inbounded the ball to a K.e.n.t. player...then immediately fouled him!! He made the FT's and they went to OT.NIU also went about 1-9 (my guess) down the stretch at the free throw line. They had a million easy chances to ice the game.god that is awful. Now if we dont beat a team like that by at least 25 there is a problem.

Did i read that right? Did the guy for NIU miss a layup with 15 seconds left that would have put them ahead 84-83?It scares me that Can't is still hanging in there for the bye. If they get that, you never know.
