  1. I look at it this way: I know many people look down at the CIT and the CBI (including our friends over at Bobkitten Attack who are likely inevitably reading this...) but I think they're good for the team. We fans may not like them, but it gives the team an opportunity (especially the younger players) to play against competition that is outside of our conference. I'd like to think that the level of teams we're going to face in the CIT CBI are going to be similar to many of the teams we will play in the OCC part of schedule; and continued "practice" against teams like that are never a bad thing.
  2. No way around it guys. This was just about the worst debacle I can remember seeing as a Zips fan. Here's to Football season...
  3. :mad_flame: :mad_flame: :mad_flame: :mad_flame:
  4. Well a chart we can use to see which players are in which class more easily. When I typed that I used the first term to come to mind Zipmeister.
  5. We look like we've got energy...the type of energy that I often see other teams using on us. My only concern is; how long can we keep up this pace?
  6. This Lady Zips team is just absolutely exciting. They're fun to watch!
  7. ^There were some absolutely unbelievable stats from this game. I will say, Kudos to the Zips fans up in C127. This is the first time I've sat up there and not with the students. I felt a little out of place because I'm 24...but I love the energy and passion of everyone up there! Oh and Alex Abreu made an appearance.
  8. HAHAHAHAHA I love one of the comments I saw on the Bobkitten board: "I'd rather be a Bobcat fan and lose than be an Akron fan and win" Okay brother...have it your way. Why can't we all just get along!? I cheer for Ohio when they're playing outside of conference, or Can't because its only to our benefit...
  9. How did I miss Stein!? I'll let other people take a look before I update. The only problem was I can't tell who Redshirted and who didn't...so it's mostly an approximation based on the last year's roster. Helpful things like what you posted should help us iron out the roster.
  10. LAST UPDATED: 7/31/2017 Zips Roster UPDATE SPRING 2017.pdf
  11. I would attend to agree with that. Ohio looked absolutely terrible last night against Miami, but good enough to beat them. I know a lot of MAC fans sometimes make an issue out of "bye teams" as if they came out flat...ran the stats and since 2005 the team that came of a bye in the MAC-T won the first game 26-10 out of 36 matchups. I'd imagine the Zips are not a pleasant team to face after a bye.
  12. I thought I'd go ahead and start it because there is a game this evening gentlemen. At first I absolutely did not want to play Ohio again. The Bobkittens will be out for revenge after our three-game sweep of them last year. Watching the game last night, both Miami and Ohio looked tired. If there is any advantage the Zips have in this matchup it's utilizing the bench. With Reggie Back, I like our chances in this game. Any word on Jake? Who's going? What's your keys to the game?
  13. "Akron University Golden Flashes" wow...just wow...how is that even possible...
  14. Looks like our opponent will be the Bobkittens.
  15. I don't mind the Z on the black uniforms. I know everyone hated the black uniforms, I actually liked them.
  16. @akZipper Exactly! I have a feeling they want to make a shift to the Z logo...but all three are good. Fear The Roo is a good logo for banners, flags, t-shirts IMO. A-Roo as a primary, Z as a secondary.
  17. Took the survey! I find it hard to rank the three logos...they each have a dear place in my hear as an alumni. However A-Roo is always my favorite followed by the Z then Fear the Roo.
  18. And that's a perfect reason of why the media is dying in this country nobody does their job. How about a little copy editing? Like seriously 0.02 seconds of fact checking on Google will give you The University of Akron and not Akron University...second: 2.2 seconds of fact checking on google will give you that Can't State is not at the Q. MAC Digital Network has 2/3 anchors putting Akron against Toledo. 50/50 on who would win that matchup.
  19. Just heard on ESPNCleveland, all three anchors picked the Akron Zips to win the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
  20. Oh really Bill Linvingston? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here and assume he's talking about the sping season...but how about the "jewel" being the Swimming team...or the Men's Indoor Track Team...or the Women's Basketball team. Two of which are already MAC-Champions, and the other is doing just as well as (if not better the) the Men's basketball team. If he's not talking about spring season...how about the Men's soccer team that's still doing quite well in College Soccer? I may be over analyzing him a bit...but every time I read Livingston I always feel like there is a sense of underlying loath for the Zips.
  21. ^Agreed. Now all we need to do is win the MAC and the "bad" season still wouldn't be that bad.
  22. The Dambrot-era Zips have always had a fight in them. Now I do agree that I don't believe the Zips will continue the dominating style that we saw last year, only losing two conference games...however I do think the Zips will continue to be towards the top. The MAC has been a revolving door at the top, and the Zips have always been 2 or 3 right behind it over the past decade. As long as he program doesn't suffer a huge change like a new coach, I don't agree with Hustle Belt. It seems that New Coaches are what did the other top programs in...Dambrot isn't going anywhere. And I do believe that is a HUGE difference.
  23. I have that feeling too...and it scares me...
  24. I can't remember what thread I said it in so I can't post the quote. However: The Zips will win the MAC. Book it.
