  1. 6 sloppy wins = bowl eligible and MAC East Champions. I'll take sloppy wins every-day-of-the-week if it means those two things. Go Zips.
  2. Great, Great, Great game. Looked bumpy for a moment there on offense, but they found a way to win. 7-5. Detroit. And Bowl Game. Goodnight everyone.
  3. I don't care what anyone says. Most fun I've had at a Zips Football Home game in a long time. Even more-so than the Ohio victory. More students were there this evening than I thought would be. GO ZIPS!
  4. It's almost as much of a mystery as...
  5. Can't Read. Can't Write. Can't hand-the-ball-off-and-successfully-drain-the-clock-without-fumbling. Cant State.
  6. I can see myself in this picture...though pixelated...
  7. You know what? I think I'm gonna enjoy the firey posts from his father. Certainly interesting every time I see them.
  8. Hey Zips Fans, charge the field afterwards. It's 12:10 and...
  9. I think the problem is though that the Big-10 teams etc...don't want to play a Bowl game against the MAC, so it's difficult to set up a Big-10 vs MAC matchup. And even if one were set up, it'll be whatever 6-6 Big-10 team couldn't get another Bowl bid. But I even doubt that, because the teams are always going to choose the "better" bowl bid. Personally I think the Zips will get their choice of a Bowl this year, and will probably elect to make it an experience for the kids rather than a convenience for the fans. I personally would like the Quicklane Bowl, because there's a good chance I could attend it. But of course that's personal bias
  10. Fantastic Post! I pulled this part out because it's something I don't think we have talked in depth about here on ZNO. At the beginning of the season there was a doom-and-gloom contingency (rightfully so starting 1-3, and squeaking out a win vs. BGSU), and a lot of people were seeing a lack of talent. As this season has progressed, we've seen players develop and get better game-to-game. And for once, in a long time, younger players are emerging in Key Roles...Alvin Davis, Kobie Booker, Kato Nelson. And a lot of our upperclassmen that we've seen making plays this year, Featherstone, Kwad Smith, are coming back next year. I think we're headed in the right direction. And it feels good to say that.
  11. Kent State beat us 35-3 in 2011. It's time to return the favor. Zips 42, Kent 6.
  12. Totally agree with what everyone is saying about the Logos! LOVE using different ones throughout the year. My personal favorite has always been the Full Roo that said The University of Akron on it, so it's nice to see the Full Roo being used for the helmet. url.html
  13. I'm confused...Akron "won the MAC every year?" I'm pretty sure the last time we were MAC Champions was in 2013 (4-long seasons ago). That's winning the MAC as far as i'm concerned. I know we're splitting hairs here, but winning the MAC in the regular season literally means nothing when you subsequently lose the conference championship game, or don't even make it that far in the Tournament. It's sad but true. I will equally be critical of Groce if he drops a game against cupcakes. So far, it hasn't happened.
  14. Just for fun (because none of this means anything), Here are some more throwing darts at the board...*cough* i mean... "projections"... lets see if any of them pan out. ESPN: Pinstripe Bowl vs Boston in NYC Cure Bowl? vs Lousiana-Lafayette (I wouldn't mind that match-up, we've beaten them before) Another Camellia Bowl vs. Georgia State
  15. I was thinking this earlier and never posted it. Losing your job because of suspension is a totally different animal you would think. Especially if the suspension was, idk, something that might come across as "me" and not giving a damn about your team or the position your team is in.
  16. A Keith Dambrot led team losing an early season game against a team it probably has no business losing to? What!?!?
  17. True. I guess we Zips fans are just so desperate to win we're almost becoming browns fans with our QBs...
  18. But has had trouble with the deep ball all season. Has shown to get rust when sitting out, and Kato has improved. IMO, ride the hot hand. But IDK, this is all assuming Woodson is even back in the first place.
  19. Totally like this idea though. I wonder what in 2017 would drive generate that kind of interest.
