  1. Apparently FAU fans aren't too happy about it.
  2. I get that they need sponsors...but c'mon companies make it UNIQUE! like "The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl" Good name, memorable, cute...kinda hokey. But I guess there's no way to make Cheribundi Tart Cherry unique...but hey Purchasing the sponsorship has had it's desired effect: never heard of them before...and now I've been to their site.
  3. The Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl...what an awful name. Just keep it at Boca Raton Bowl, sponsored by Cheribundi Tart Cherry....good lord.
  4. Indeed. I was listening to ESPN radio this morning (really early) and there was one person laying out how "Ohio State has THREE wins in the top-25!...therefore they're resume is soooooo much better". Again no talk about how one of their losses was really, really, really bad, by comparison. I hope the committee does the right thing.
  5. If Kato's father want's to destroy his son's career by walking, let them. I'm looking forward to a healthy QB competition next year between Kelley, Nelson and Ramart.
  6. And now we're down to an announcement show later today. 1 Clemson (Won Decisively 12-1) 2 Auburn (Lost to Georgia 10-3) 3 Oklahoma (Won Decisively) 4 Wisconsin (Lost to Ohio State) 5 Alabama (11-1) 6 Georgia (Beat Auburn (12-1) 7 Miami (Lost to Clemson) 8 Ohio State (Won vs Wisconsin) IMHO: It should be Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama. They're preparing the excuses now (allowing the first 2-loss team in...Ohio State...) of "Championship win means more" (even though it didn't for Penn State) and everyone has been mentioning SOS, but NEVER the level of the losses: "Ohio State lost to Oklahoma...and they're in the top 4!" "(no mention of Iowa State BLOWOUT LOSS near the end of the season)". If the committee resembles anything "fair or objective" they will not select Ohio State. I don't think that they will be. Hopefully I will be eating crow later today.
  7. Here's the question of all questions: Z-Hat or A-Roo hat? THAT is the question...
  8. You'll be able to get them at the stadium. $20.
  9. I'm really, really, really starting to enjoy his tweets
  10. Yeah, and I want to add a new patch to my jersey!
  11. Because there's more money in the Big-10, prestige w/e. If each conference has equal chance (1 bid) to get a shot at the national championship, theres a greater incentive.
  12. You'd also get bottom-feeder P5 teams with a name (Purdue comes to mind) who might consider switching conferences because at present moment they stand no chance of getting the the CFP, while on name alone they might be able to recruit better than the other teams in lower conferences, and thus win-out over those teams. That would put the gravy-train at risk. Not. Going. To. Happen.
  13. I'm pretty sure he got himself banned from posting?. 11/15 was his last day visiting here, and 11/9 (the last day he posted something) was the day he posted some rather, regrettable things.
  14. Great post. Hopefully Wisconsin can just win the darn thing and silence the OSU conversation. The only thing I see never happening is the 16-team field with all-10 Conference champions. It SHOULD be that way, but I don't believe the Big-Boys would ever let the MACs and Sun Belts of the world have a seat at the table. There may be an "at-large" slot reserved for the best of the G5 teams, but no way they would give 5-spots to 5 "lesser" teams. Because the arguments would be made that a second place SEC team still deserves to get in the Top MAC team.
  15. I wonder if the ABJ will have a full page featurette on the Zips on Saturday Morning...oh wait...probably will be buried behind 6 pages of Ohio State.
  16. I don't believe so. From what I understand, each Bowl must have "tie-in" contracts, meaning they will select teams from certain conferences first. So long as that conference has an eligible team they must be selected. But the Bowl still gets to make an offer, and the school must accept the offer. So several bowls could ask the same team and then the team would make the choice as to which bowl they will play in. The MAC's direct Tie-ins are: Dollar General Bowl Camellia Bowl Idaho Potato Bowl Bahamas Bowl (Ohio has this slot), Bahamas bowl likely made this offer early as to guarantee a certain team...and Ohio has a good record. Secondary contracts exist in case a conference can't fill it's bowls, which are then filled by remaining bowl eligible teams from said conferences. Secondary MAC tie-ins are: Boca Rotan Bowl (if American or C-USA can't fill a slot) Quick Lane Bowl (if either ACC or Big-10 Can't) Frisco Bowl (if American can't fill their slot) Now this doesn't mean teams can't receive offers from other Bowls, there is a pecking order. If the Primary and secondary can't fill the spot they will be put out there for other teams to be offered. But the Bowl still gets to make the offer. So a team like Ohio, who's not going to be in the conference game, may only get one offer (hence why they went ahead and accepted it) while a conference Champion may get 2 or three. WMU for example got an offer from Dollar General Bowl, but was given an invitation to the NY6 games as the G5 representative, thus Ohio University was then given the invitation. Please someone correct me if I have misunderstood this.
  17. Thanks! Had no idea, I probably read that at some point and just have forgotten. Thanks guys!
  18. Speaking of MTB...where is MTB? He's still on the roster, but doesn't have any registered PT...
  19. I'd be happy with either of those.
