    App State comes in at 2-3 with wins over ETSU and William Peace (new one to me) and losses to Charlotte, Iona and Delaware. They are led by 6-3 senior guard Adrian Delph who scores 19.6 ppg. Last year they were 17-12 overall and 7-8 in the Sun Belt Conference. They were projected to finish fourth in the conference coaches preseason poll out of 12 teams.

    The Zips have one or two of these a year. Deep breaths folks. In reality, none of these games matter down the line as we all know only winning the MAC tourney will get them in the tournament.

    Groce post-game comments- Fordham dominated for 40 minutes. Zips soft on both ends of the floor. It would have been a shame if we won that game and we didn't deserve to win. Proud of that last group in- Dawson and Wynn and the guys battled. No excuses, just didn't play well. Didn't play very smart. Have to play and coach better tomorrow at 1:30.

    On a positive note the loss brings an early game tomorrow which some of us will get to miss due to work. Fordham was projected to finish 14th (out of 14 teams) in the A-10 this year.     Here's hoping the Zips can rebound from that abysmal showing against Fordham in the opener. In hindsight, I should have just started a Gulf Case Showcase thread for all three games.

    Yep , why would you not just back off of them and challenge them to shoot? Every game will need Trimble and Castaneda making 3s along with the occasional threat of a 3 from guys like Ali, Dawson and Clarke.

    I understand it is one of the cavernous hockey arenas. Those types of backgrounds can wreak some havoc on shooting, but they need to adjust. Trimble and Castaneda need to make 3s for this offense to run smoothly.

    I only put up the thread due to the tradition of every game having one and thinking no one else would.

    That would be nice. There's no one in the tournament that particularly scares me. Oakland out of the other side of the bracket has played close games against West Virginia and Oklahoma State. I wish there was a way to watch this without subscribing to some other service.
