  2. Still can't get over the 35 to 7 free throw disparity.
  3. Glad I had to work and missed most of this one.
  4. The Zips head to the lovely Muncie, Indiana Friday night to face the Ball Stare Cardinals. The game is at 7:00 on the CBS Sports network. You shouldn't be able to call a game broadcast on such a limited network a national broadcast. The Cardinals stand at 7-9 overall and 5-6 in the MAC heading into Bowling Green tonight. Heading into BG they’ve had two games in row postponed with their last game an impressive 81-67 home win over Toledo. The Zips throttled a shorthanded BS team 74-42 at the JAR on January 30th. The guard heavy Cards are led by K.J. Walton at 16.1 ppg and Ishmael El-Amin at 15.3 ppg.
  5. This team had 20 points in the first half at Brimfield Saturday. 29 in the first 9 minutes today.
  6. Tribble's shot is still looking really rough.
  7. Reece and Freeman in together. That doesn't happen very often.
  8. Nothing like a 3-13 start to get you canned. He had 3 straight years of sub .500.
  9. After losing to DeKalb and Ypsilanti, they all concern me! I worry about teams with two or three really good players as in a situation involving a single game a couple of them going off can allow them to pull an upset. I see Toledo as the biggest threat, but BG, OU and maybe PCCC have the potential for couple of guys to get hot on a given night and get the Zips.
  10. I guess that's one of the advantages of a 2:00 game. It can always be pushed back to later in the day. Like NWAKron, I suspect they're still in town from their visit to the Agricultural Exhibit and Animal Husbandry Center.
  11. ...and most of the fan seating is like new! The SVSM/Hoban game and Founders Day facilitate a twice a year bathroom cleaning.
  12. Here's a blurb from the Beacon on the young Mr. Boyce in their high school spotlight- MARCEL BOYCE JR. Buchtel, basketball Boyce, a sophomore, scored 16 points in a 96-32 win over Ellet, 22 points in a 88-79 victory over Archbishop Hoban and 24 points in a 79-78 loss to Walsh Jesuit this week. He also recently scored 10 points in a 78-75 win over Medina, 16 points in a 88-82 victory over Cleveland Heights Lutheran East and 31 points in a 88-37 win over Ellet.
  13. You were expecting? George is worried about a Zips defense that is two points in average better than any other team in the league. Just imagine if he'd just report on what actually happened in the game and spared us the analysis.
  14. If Toledo can cut this to single digits...........................they can lose by single digits.
  15. BG back up 12!. Who are these teams? Never know what you'll get in these rivalry games.
  16. Saw 2 seconds of the Stony Brook game today and Jayden looks good (especially without a cast). Good for him.
  17. BG going for its 7th loss in a row today. They haven't won a game since January 15th!
  18. This is where we've been posting this kind of info.
  19. The Zips get an opportunity to avenge their ugly early season loss to the NIU Huskies this Tuesday at the JAR. The good news is that the game is on ESPN3. The bad news is that it's a 2:00 p.m. start. Who wouldn't want to get back to DeKalb as soon as possible? Going into Saturday's game in Brimfield against PCCC the Huskies are 2-10/1-6 in the MAC with their sole MAC win its 67-65 win over the Zips on January 12th. The Huskies had 7 consecutive postponements going into Brimfield and have not played since January 16th! 6'2" sophomore guard Tyler Cochran leads NIU in scoring and rebounding at 13.8 ppg and 7.4 rpg. He did not play against the Zips in the first game.
  20. This morning's Beacon headline- "Lairy, Zips beat Redhawks." Doh!
  21. He is in for his defense as he is much superior to Trimble defensively. His athleticism is great and helps his defense but he has yet to develop a shot. Wynn is more interchangeable for Dailey and Ali as a forward in the rotation while Tribble is in the guard rotation.
  22. As much as Riak could make us nuts with his bad hands and lack of offense, this is a game where his defense would make a difference against the dribble penetration.
