The Zips head into lovely DeKalb, Illinois Tuesday to face 6-14 Northern Illinois on what may be the MAC’s ugliest basketball court. NIU is 3-7 in the MAC with wins over PCCC, Eastern Michigan and WMU. They are 1-6 in their last 7 MAC games. The MAC coaches projected NIU to be the worst team in the MAC in the preseason poll. They stand currently in 10th, ahead of EMU and WMU. 6’3” sophomore guard Keshawn Williams leads the Huskies at 15.9 ppg. 6’8” senior guard Anthony Crump (Helen Crump’s nephew) leads rebounding at 5.2 ppg. NIU is last in the conference in scoring offense at 63.5 ppg.

I don't know the redshirt rules but I wonder if he is up to the limit that if he plays he is over it.

KD is still having an impact in the MAC with guys like Insincere Carry and Lamar Norman 5th and 1st in MAC scoring! KD had an opportunity to make more money at a school at which his family had a historical tie in a conference that doesn't depend on a single game in March to get into the NCAA tournament. He also escaped a stagnant athletic department and an awful facility for a place that was to build a whole new facility for his team. In hindsight, I am glad he moved on. His time as a coach, due to his age, was winding down and the program had reached its limits under him. I appreciate all he did for UA. He made basketball relevant and fun but I am just fine as to how things have worked out. My only regret was that he was a part of the gutting of the players in the program.

Buffalo perplexes the hell out of me. They have one of the best guard combos in the league (Williams and Segu) along with one of the top big men (Mballa). If they can ever get their heads out of their collective poopers they could be dangerous at MAC tourney time.

If Trimble is out today we need Tribble and Clarke to step up and play strong at the point so that X can play off of the ball and concentrate on his shot to make up for Trimble's loss. On defense, let Precious beat you!
