There were three full sections of students. Two on one side of the band, one on the other.

Dont know if anyone saw Can't State's attendance from Tuesday....7,471. Worse than any Akron game this year. Its not just Akron struggling with attendance. Although Can't is extremely awful this year.

I just noticed that they had a former player. How many opponents is that this year?

Battle of #25 vs #23...Scoreless after 12 minutes.

The only new uniforms they got this year are the black ones and gold helmets. And those were paid for by a donation. No money from the athletic department for those jerseys.

So we really need 7 wins, because that puts us ahead of all the 6 win teams out there. And basically ensures us a bowl game (Except in rare occasions like Toledo last year).

I think it's just having a bowl that wants you. Toledo and Ohio were both 7-5 overall last year and Toledo had a better conference record. However, Ohio was in a bowl and Toledo wasn't.

I know that the MAC is GUARANTEED to have 5 teams in bowls, if there are 5 teams with six wins. Those five bowls are: Bahamas Bowl (vs. American Athletic) Boca Raton Bowl (vs. Conference USA) Raycom Media Camellia Bowl (vs. Sun Belt) GoDaddy Bowl (vs. Sun Belt) Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (vs. Mountain West) So far there are three teams eligable: WMU, NIU, and CMU. Two others have 5 wins: BGSU, Toledo Two have 4 wins: Akron and Ohio (Ohio has 5 losses, Akron has 4) 4 teams are already eliminated from bowl eligibility: UMASS, Miami, Can't, and EMU.

Hard to believe that we are still in control of our own destiny after those last two games. But it's right there, lets go take it!

They know how many students are at every game. The most this year was around 2500 for the Howard game.

I sure hope so. May not mean a win but at least it will be watchable.

Probably means nothing but Pohl is listed first in the depth chart included in the game notes. However, it say Pohl OR Woodson, so it probably means nothing. There was a student event at Rob's dining hall this afternoon promoting the football game and many of the players were there, including Pohl who appeared to be in good health and good spirits.

What day is Bowden's press conference for this game? Usually for a Saturday game, its on Tuesday. So, will it be on Friday this week? I think we'll get an explanation during the press conference.

All we need is WMU to draw (or lose) one of their last two games and we need to win both. Its extremely possible. EDIT: I think this is correct, anyways. The MAC website lists the standings in terms of points, in which we are only 1 behind (7 to 6).

I think we need AT LEAST 7 wins to make a bowl.

Zips are at home tonight against 2nd place WMU. A win tonight would make it very likely for Akron to host the MAC tourney in mid-November.

You had a very similar experience to the one I am almost done with. I applied to Akron, YSU, and Ohio State. I got accepted to all three and chose Akron for various reasons. I am now in my fifth (and final) year and know I made the right decision.

A replacement was hired but not until the week before the semester started. Puts him in a very tough spot.
