I'm just saying, I predict within the next 2 years the Horizon will be better then the A-10 and probabaly 5 spots higher then the MAC in the RPI ratings. With a conference that seems like they get multi bids into the dance frequently it could be a band wagon we should be interested in. Living in Youngstown I go to a couple of games every year, and watch others on T.V. Let em tell you the horizon doesn't deal with this bull shit officiating, and teams like NIU and such. We could have beat Butler twice this season seeing as Cant took them into OT and we beat the sory team 3 times. I know many will disagree with me here but it's something to look into. UW-Milwaukee advanced atleast to the final 32 like 3 straight years or something. I looks like Wright State could give Pitt problems, and Butler will advance to the round of 32. I'm sick of seeing MAC teams go one and done in the turney.

Anyway we can stay in the MAC for football and join the Horizon League for Basketball? We'd still have 2 other teams from Ohio, and have good basketball teams like Loyola Chicago and Butler within our conference. I think the Horizon would make sense for all sports other then football. we can play Can't once a year, and hae rivals with YSU and Cleveland State.

I wouldn't say we got shafted fron the NCAA's. Missouri State, Air Force, App State, Florida State and Syracuse got the true snub

Let's face it Butler locked up a turney bid once they won the pre season NIT. They also scheduled Purdue as well as other schools. We need to step up our non-conference schedule because putting your entire season on winning a tournament. We need to get into the pre season NIT or say like a coaches vs. cancer type early turney. Butlers been a lock since December

Plus WTAM has the rights to the Cavs, Indians and Browns. Now with spring training starting, the browns making moves, and the Cavs in the hunt to be the best in the East there isn't much room for college sports. WTAM is interested in Pro Sports, thats what they have to talk about, and thats what they broadcast. Were our games on XM or Sirus?

I wouldn't plan a party around Akron getting into the turney.The other mid-major teams comparable to us are App State, and Air Force. We do not have anywhere near the resume of App State or Air Force. I don't see how they put a team in who cannot win the regular season or post season in the 15th rated conference by the RPI. Illinois, App State, Oklahoma State, Florida State and Arkansas are all on the bubble. Those schools have a lot better wins then we do, in a lot better conferences. The fact that a team like Illinois and Kansas State are on the bubble makes the discussion we are having now pointless.

I think its going to be close. YSU is a tuff place to play in, they are a good team too. I don't think we can beat them there this year. On the flip they don't beat us at the JAR this season

I watched the YSU game on TV tonight. They blew a 20 point lead, came out shooting strong. Key to to wear em down in the 2nd half. Youngstown is no easy place to play. They beat Butler last year there, had Can't State up against the ropes, and Loyola is a good team. Loyola is now 9-5 with wins over Northern Iowa and played well at Bradley and at Ohio State. We gotta stop #34 Keston Roberts. YSU is flying high now, lets bring them back down to earth.Equins I get my tickets free. Me and my wife will be there. Gateway is a solid football conference. I think they are better then the Sun Belt. The fact that each team has 20 less scholarships hurts that conference and makes in un comparable to the MAC. But here some interesting results out of the Gateway.Illinois State 1 point loss at Kansas State, missed 2 pt conversion for the winNorthern Iowa 1 point loss @ Iowa State, missed game winning fieldgoalSouthern Illinois beat Indiana.So the conference is not bad for having 20 less scholarships. I think YSU fans around here are more concerend about the game tomoroow vs. Lyola. I think Loyola was the pre season favorite in the Horizon League. Both the Jar and Beegly Center are nice places to watch a basketball game in.
