He certainly played better than usual. He has improved and is playing consistently better. I don't know that criticism has been unfair. I don't think ge has played well and off the field distractions don't make the program look good. Overall, people have recognized his improved play. But he was also highly touted due to his FSU recruitment. FWIW, if you caught Sunday night football, you would have seen a Steeler bend but don't break defense that kept Detroit from scoring a touchdown and allowed 5 field goals. Announcers called out that this style of defense is the result of the defense having a lot of speed.

Speaking of Featherstone... Penn Hills grad Featherstone gains larger role at Akron

Yeah, I would have to look, but most teams get either a real buy with 10 weekdays between games or have the extended time switching from Saturday to Tuesday. I think we didn't even get that one year. His other snide comme ts are just ridiculous and Bowden was not about indulge him in second guessing the opposing coach. A real repirter would have found out why Buffalo went to the air. Maybe someone got hurt that we were unaware of or maybe he realized they needed more points to win. A real reporter does not guess. "Akron coach Terry Bowden seemed oblivious to Buffalo's domination, opting to take the glass half-full view that comes with victory." EA is a real tool.

I wouldn't necessarily limit it to that of late, but I believe it likely plays a part in it.

Re: Davis, the way the rule is written they had to throw the flag. The rule needs to be revised for incindetal contact, similar to the 5 yard penalty for running into the kicker. Keep it a 15 yarder, but no ejection. Save ejections for deliberate, flagrant fouls.

Nice shots on a crummy weather day.

I was at physical therapy last week and the assistant told me they have had to turn off ESPN because it has become too political. I think they have suffered along with the NFL. Peopme want sports to be an escape and it isn't any more.
-
Yeah, I noticed it, too. EA's was equally as snide. The presser was interesting this week:
-
Yeah, it's all possible, but I think we all know in our guts, we really need to beat OU, and really have a legitimate shot at winning out.
-
I do not think Miami is a likely loss. Overall, we typically play well on the road. The team will be pumped to play Ohio for the MAC east. I think we have to watch and be on guard for a let letdown when we host KSU. Our players knoe how bad KSU is and KSU has managed to play some teams tough. After the 2 seasons they have had, they are going to be desperate for an emotional victory. We need to find a way to want it more.

CBS Sports.

But if Ohio loses to Miamai and Toledo, and we beat Kent and Miami but lose to OU, do we still take the Division?
-
I don't thonk CBS Sports has the games available for replay.

We have a few things impacting our run game right now: 1. Erickson moved to play center while Gautheny is out. We were very effective running to Erickson side before he assumed responsibilities as a center. 2. Injury to Newman Williams - we had some of our best runs with Williams and Booker as blockers. 3. Edwards and Morgan are not skilled at making something out of nothing. Sands is better at this. I think that going down the stretch Sands might be the man. I hope, anyway. 4. We were not passing well enough to have tge pass open up the run. 5. We did try, very early to both run outside of tackles as well as het sweeps. They just were not there. 6. Today, we went up against one of the best LBs in the league (Hodge.) These factors all add up and our run game has been stifled as a result.

Liepold blew it by not going for 2 on the Q4 TD. They also poorly managed the clock in their last posession. That being said, we have learned how to win and it makes a big difference in close games.
-
I initially thought the same thing, but for a while in Q3, he really wasn't getting the time he needed. Bowden also mentioned in one interview that he took a shot to the shoulder and was not the same for a couple of plays but seemed to bounce back. I do not think there is another MAC QB who can stay in the picket like him and make plays.
-
My quick thoughts: 1. Defense continues to be scary. 2. I really, really hope K. Brown is not done fir the season. 3. The offense showed some of the best play we have seen all season. 4. Sands should be starter. 5. Tommy's pocket presence is outstanding.

1st place in make east at the end of October. Go Zips.
-
Woodson = game MVP.
-
He has seen increased playing time and I think we will see more from now on.
-
Lol, whatever.
-
I think he is still out, isn't he? They said on the radio he has knee surgery.
-
They probably would have had a first down running it up the middle, truthfully.
