  1. I'll repeat again what I've been saying all along.1) We're lacking the NEED for a new arena because we don't sell enough tickets.2) The JAR is only about 25 years old, and is still in great condition. These two factors alone possibly put us a decade or two away from making a new basketball arena a reality.
  2. When I was listening to the game, I thought it was a trick play as well. But seeing it again proves that it was totally improvised.
  3. Those road games against Miami and Bowling Green are the ONLY losses we can have the rest of the way if we want to be bowl-eligible. We have to win every other game, including the road game at Buffalo, and the Home game against a very good Central Michigan team.We definitely have our work cut out for us.
  4. You guys are awesome. Now that I've heard the video again, I want to see the audio. As soon as someone has a link where we can view that, please post it here.
  5. I've always loved listening to French. I even sometimes turn off the tv sound, and listen to him, when games are on tv.I'd love to see someone put this audio together with the video from the game, and distribute it to all of the national sports outlets. I bet this would get a lot of play.
  6. I wouldn't think we are in a position to "hold back" plays for conference opponents. I think the good coaches continue to add plays as the season progresses, and they see tendencies in upcoming opponents. In this case, I think it was all about being patient with a young offensive unit.
  7. Please, lets not all turn our Cleveland Browns Fan mentality on the Zips. If we do, we'll continually think that the guy on the bench is better.I would be totally shocked if CJ11 has not officially won the QB race after that performance. Didn't he even complete his first 10 or so passes in a row? I understand the point that we may have forgotten that CJ7 won the Can't game. But, his performance in the Can't game was not very good. I think he was something like 8 for 22 passing.CJ11 has now shown that he can be productive. That's the first time this year that we saw a solid QB performance.
  8. If the flushes have more talent than every team they play, then I guess they need a new coach. This is just more of the typical "poor loser" crap that we've been hearing.
  9. I was listening on the radio, so I never "saw" the play. But, it sure was fun "seeing it" through the eyes of Steve French. PLEASE...someone on here let us know whenever that is available somewhere.
  10. I didn't want to have to be concerned about Buffalo, but I guess we'll have to be. Especially since it wil be a road game. I think the fact that we play them after a bye week will be a good thing this year. We're really starting to get banged up defensively.
  11. You gotta love seeing the defending MAC East champions struggling. That's good news for us.
  12. I thought it would do us more good if Can't won that game. But I must admit, I enjoyed seeing that Can't lost
  13. I ran out on the field at the Rubber Bowl the night Alcorn kicked that game-winning field goal. That was our first home game as a MAC member, and the Bowl was packed. Exciting night. This one ranks higher only because it was much more improbable. And don't forget the Marshall game in 2004. It was a similar scenario, down 14 in the fourth quarter. Then after we tied the game, the Marshall punter dropped the snap on their next possession, and we kicked the winning field goal from that spot. The only difference between this game and that one is that we still could have gone into overtime tied. The similarities between this game and the Marshall game is that everyone REALLY thought the game was OVER. The one difference between this game and the Marshall game is that it was on ESPN, so everyone got to see it.
  14. Jacquemain will start next week. He threw for 380 yards and 4 touchdowns. I'm certain JD will let him work through some of the mistakes he made today, but he certainly earned his stripes with that performance.
  15. As for the future, I will say this much. It's comforting to finally see Jacquemain finding his open receiver. And in several cases, it was not Jabari Arthur.Very encouraging.
  16. zen..you are right on the money. That's why I think it's childish that they are deliberately attempting to sabotage our mascot competition.
  17. A 4-0 start should pretty much allow us to cruise to a playoff spot. Let's finish this week strong!!
  18. Well, because of the rivalry, I could understand that they might not care if Zippy wins, or actually might hope that Zippy loses. But, making an outright EFFORT to sabotage our chances is pretty bad. Frankly, if that Bird was in the competition, and we were not, most of us would probably not even pay attention to it.
  19. johnnyzip84...I have also been around this program going back to the 80s, and also remember that we never play well at Western. Even when we did take good teams up there, some fluke play would happen that would make us lose. I'm not sure if we've ever won in Kalamazoo. We've lost to three very good football teams on the road already this year, but this is now our chance to show that we're ready for conference play, and that the Can't win is a preview of things to come. This is by far our most winnable road game so far. Here is also a situation that should be making our team angry, and hungry....There's some "experts" out there who are disregarding our win against Can't, and saying that they still think Can't is better than us (read the recent MAC power ratings). We are about a 10 point underdog this week against WMU, and Can't is about the same 10 point favorite to beat Miami. We are getting no respect, and that should be firing our guys up.
  20. Looks like Hakes has no run support either. Sounds like the 2005 and 2006 Charlie Frye era in Cleveland.
  21. This is no surprise. They have no class.
  22. Good Points.Remember, we are not only facing UCLA fans, but also everyone else that is voting nationwide that wants to make sure Zippy gets a LOSS sometime soon. Monday morning has been the difference maker the last couple of weeks, but lets just make sure we keep an eye on this thing, and keep it close until then.
  23. We're 1-0 in MAC play, and hold the head-to-head advantage over Can't State, one of the better teams in the East, in case we end up tied with them. What more could we ask for at this point???Our 3 losses are to good football teams, who are not even in our conference. This just amazes me.
  24. Remember folks.......There's a lot that we can't see. We can't see how well each of these guys works with JD, or how they interact with their teamates, etc., etc.All that we can see is what's happening on the field on Saturday from 12-3pm. I'm fine with CJ11 starting, if that's the decision that the coaching staff believes is best for this team right now.
  25. I'm sure nobody likes seeing Can't ranked ahead of us, but they did put on an impressive performance on the road at OU.What they aren't accounting for is that we essentially have a 2-game lead on Can't State right now, because we'll win a head-to-head tie breaker.So....all we have to do is keep winning, and make them chase us. If we can win at Buffalo and home against Temple, we are 3-1 in MAC play at the very worst. That would put us in pretty good position going into the more difficult November part of our schedule. Frankly, I think Bowling Green is the best team in the East. But, we play them on the road, and I believe I read that Can't State plays them at home. That could prove to be a stroke of bad luck in the scheduling for us.
