GP1 good comment on running inside...Kennedy won't do it...doesn't like to...isn't strong enough...too bad the kid from McKinley...Morgan didn't end up here...the ZIPS don't need a back who will only run the corners..with a mobile QB they need a back who WILL run inside and CAN run outside if needed...they had a back like that when they won the MAC...too bad he is not here now...maybe run the fullback more?

more on harvey...i was at the OU game last year...saw harvey's antics...also saw him drop a crucial pss in the 2nd half that could have gotten the ZIPS back in the game...this kid is whatever going on 15...

it was said here during last season, harvey was going to be a problem...as was jackson...JD obviously has taken some chances on guys with less than stellar CHARACTER...there are reasons jackson 'ended up' at AKRON and not at a bigger school...harvey is the same...if these guys get their heads screwed on straight AND play the ZIPS will have a good year...if JD has to start booting guys again...IGOR...it could get ugly...

bought my season tickets today-75.00...told it includes the ARMY game at the stadium...i sent an e-mail to the athletic dept. about the shabby treatment of season ticket holders,the crazy scheduling etc...i will say they actually responded quickly..didn't say things would change but at least they payed attention

the comment about parochial schools in TEXAS is correct...due to the way its set up down there the parochial schools have no advantage over the public schools so the best athletes go to the public schools...thats where the best competion is...unlike here where st eds,st iggies st xavier etc etc can"buy" kids...hakes was not playing against the best TEXAS competion...the concern here is that if Jackson gets second chair he could become a cancer given some of his antics on the sidelines...if JD is recruiting questionable characters to come here he is going to have a LOT of problems with morale and cohesion...

ok folks...lets keep some perspective here...as in years past a brutal road schedule will take its toll later in the season...frankly it doesn't matter if you beat uconn or indiana(both not likely) and the loss at osu is insignificant except that the players get beat up physically...WIN THE MAC GAMES!!!! for gosh sakes...beat Can't...ou...central etc etc etc...thats the only way you go to a bowl...just think if the ZIPS had beaten Can't,western and ou games they should/could have won you'talking another MAC championship game..get real!

OK...how are they going to do this?...will it be a sell out to whatever corporate or fatcat sponsors they can dig up?...or will people who actually pay for season tickets get a fair shot...? this ain't OSU...who out there is going to BUY a season ticket in '09 or '10?

i wanna hear from fans actually buying SEASON TICKETS...not students getting in on their ID"S...(been their done that) (no disrespect but i paid my student fees and got in for 'free'back in 1970,1971,1972,1973,1974 etc)...what kind of games do you, the season ticket holders who pay to get in want to see at the BOWL for the next couple of years?...we are treated like CRAP as far as i am concerned

:blink: hope expectations aren't tooooo high this year...the way the Athletic Dept. keeps punishing these guys to try to make a buck is obscene...at some point for the good of the program and the FANS...thats US...you just have to WIN GAMES...i'm not saying schedule howard and st. swithens...but if you schedule competetive games at home and win some you have a better shot at more butts in the seats and a BOWL game...if the ZIPS won a couple out of conference games last year...not to mention conference games... they would have had a decent shot at a bowl AND....more MONEY for the program...RPI don't count in Football...

small conferences only hurt themselves when they play a conference tourney...at least as far as getting to the BIG DANCE is concerned...the conference tourney is ALL about money,thats all...but when you know you only get one bid you take the chance on having the ' MIAMI SCENARIO' rear its ugly head...at most the MAC should play a round robin regular season and have the 2 division champs play for the right to go to the NCAAat least then you get one of the 2 best teams in and the other likely gets the NIT...

among other mistakes the ZIPS made during the game if they had STOPPED THE BALL in the backcourt...thats B.Ball 101 gang!...JR HIGH stuff...stop the damn ball!...stop whining...it never should have come down to the freethrows OR "THE SHOT"

whoever moohead is, he did make some cogent,objective obs of the Miami game...it was said here before but KD allowed Charlie's boys to play their game and did nothing to change the tempo at the end of the 2nd half...AND it never should have come down to the last 5 seconds...NEVER...KD got outcoached OR was too stubborn to force the action and get miami out of its comfort zone...i keep getting this haunting feeling that KD is not a good big game coach...and constantly blaming everyone else for big losses doesn't help his team and doesn't win him any points with other coaches not to mention the officials...BUT the NIT did SCREW them...

how about the ZIPS and Kansas State in the NIT...Huggy Bear did a decent job this year no matter what we think aboyt him...they probably should have made it..

talk about a turnaround...how about the the 9 inning guys...i know the weather stinks in NEO in March and April....but get out and watch these guys!

unlike rasor,i hope KD does see the reaction to last night...if it can be used for positive change so much the better...there are lots of reasons games like last night's slip away...coaches decisions...player's mistakes...if what happened last night allows KD to look at himself(in the coaching sense) and make adjustments then a negative becomes a positve for the program...BUT don't start whining about the refs in the NEVADA game after losing to miami(ABJ today)...that just sends the message to the players and the staff that someone else is responsible for what happened...hopefully the NIT will be kind and the team can regroup..

i love being a ZIPS fan...have for almost 40 years now...when i moved from the area in the '80s i annoyed people in texas because i followed the teams...yes i am a FAN...but as i have said in this forum being a fan doesn't mean you can't or should not be critical...the COACHES and Players let a huge opportunity slip away last night...for MAC teams that opprtunity might not come again for years...as we know...i hope everyone involved builds on the frustration and uses it as a positive for next year...i hope KD realizes that blaming refs in the Nevada game doesn't do anything positive...see today's ABJ...i hope he realizes that sometimes during games he needs to think outside his 'box' so games don't slip away...i hope the guys coming back next year don't carry the frustration to the point that it weighs them down...and here is hoping that they get a break in the NIT...

hey ZIPALUMN..ya...we called it DEMOS...Schroeders had the coldest beer in town...you could fly down there between classes and grab a couple of Miller's under glass..they had a real nice bar too... look whats there now!...actually had to dodge traffic to gte to the library too...
