how 'bout that Bubba Walther!...maybe Dambrot needs to loosen his shorts a little and learn to deal with people who don't necessarily look at the game through the same glasses he does...

If Brookhart has another losing season next year..

GP1..good comment...but if there were 45 others who applied and some of those apparently could be called more established or 'higher profile' than Brookhart...how did Brookhart and not one of those other 45 end up here...other than his obvious connection to the previous AD? not that Brookhart's reign may not turn out OK but one has to imagine that some of those other 45 had a deeper resume....just wondering -

if you fire him who in the HEdouble toothpicks do you think is going to come here?... this place WILL turn into another grave yard of coaches...the only way you get a quality coach in here is if JD leaves because he is SUCCESSFUL here... as frustrating as that may be, no top assistant or ...heaven forbid semi-established coach is going to come to a program that fires another losing coach...hope JD turns into an ALL AROUND coach, give him a couple years then decide... -
Harvey has POTENTIAL...but if you watched him closely he dropped KEY passes and he 'took too many plays off'... he still doesn't make the clutch, tough catches even though he has great ability to get open...my fear is that MAC defenses will start jamming him at the line and he won't be strong enough to get open...Hixon could...here's to Harvey GROWING UP!

how 'bout that Bubba Walther!
-
how about that bubba walther!
-
Junior, i agree that Rohr and Swiger were signifcant contributors, but i think they missed BIGGS and Hixon more...nobody will say it but BIGGS covered a lot of Getsy's ills because the coaches could count on him to run and catch,,,he could run the middle...he could catch passes there too...i don't see yet anybody on the roster who can do that..no strong legged runners for the middle...no backs catching out of the backfield...we'll see
-
what!!!??dennis can't run inside...how long did that take? Biggs...old news i know...HE could run inside...i miss him...so did JD and Luke...give the ball to the fullback a few times...it works
-
please..stop being dangerfield...if you have to complain about the officiating at HOME...DON'T..NEVADA CLEANED 'EM OUT THERE AND BEAT THEM HERE...for now they are the better team...
-
Captain is right...we all hope b.ball(and f.ball) attendance would be better...but...dambrot needs to stop whining about it..you don't schedule Tiffin,St Francis etc etc in pre-con then play one decent team from the lower part of the top 25 who most people may have never seen play or will ever see play again and expect fans to all of a sudden break down the doors...as much as i hate to say it look down the road at Waters,Heath and Christian, play Duke at their place to 79-72 or whatever...win the damn MAC and more fans will show consistently...i'm sure kd is old enough to remember names like Bill Turner,Leonard Paul,Larry Quarles etc etc..old Memorable Hall was usually packed because the Zips played meaningful games and won them and went to the tourney regularly...

Details, Details...So you want Stadium Details?

damn skippy..thats a great find...but those plans can't be for UofA...must have got them mixed up with osu,usc...a hotel?...wonder how much season tickets for the peons will cost...? -
i would suspect that many folks will agree that the seniors,Joyce and Travis are pretty KEY players...your other key guys are juniors...thats the kind of squad coaches should win with...don't want ALL seniors or ALL sophs etc...have these guys progressed enough to overtake Can't etc. etc etc? hope this is not J.D. redux...
-
the bad thing here is that there is not much upside with the ZIPS...key players are seniors and they are still shooting under 50% from the field AND how does a DI team shoot only 50% from the LINE?...not to mention they got beat on the BOARDS again...Dambrot coaches a tough style to play year in and year out not just game in and game out...lack of scoring depth and toughness underneath is killing them...
-
looks like JD reeled in some good O lineman in the '07 class...maybe he should help the Browns with the draft...now...here's hoping JD the Recruiter can become JD the COACH next year!
-
the ciggy tax CAN go through WITHOUT going to the ballot...why do think that wolstein et al want to go that direction?...cuz they are worried about people like us who WILL NOT vote for it...cuz a soccer stadium/team is stupid..but they are waving the promise of shopping centers etc under the noses of the local yokels to get them to buy it...but w/o the sucker stadium ALL else is off...my suggestion...contact the area state reps and senators....Kevin Coughlin...John Widdowfield...Kim Zurz...they are getting sucked in on this....tell them Uof A has contributed a hell of a lot more to this community since 1870 than the wolsteins or any politician...do it!!!
-
that is a good web..unfortunately it shows how weak the MAC is..5-7-Horizon...0-2 West Coast...1-3 Southern...not to mention the big time conferences..don't beg for a second team in the NCAA until you can handle teams at your level...the ZIPS have a chance to 'raise all boats' if they can beat Nevada..
-
 hey gang...IF the ZIPS get a new stadium and even IF there is no state, local money used directly for it..there's going to be a whole bunch of streets, sewers, sidewalks etc..etc. that will be constructed, torn down, blocked off etc etc... that WILL need taxpayer money...they ain't gonna drop the damn thing out of the sky into the parking lots next to the field house...drink more beer...smoke more cigs...
-
mayor don at one point and may still be looking at running for a higher office...at one point it was congress...he may also be looking at the County Executive post as it is rumored mccarthy is leaving...he has a little baggage with his divorce etc. but IF he needs local support he may be more willing to 'get out in front' on a stadium here if he thinks it will get some pub his way...was there some problem between Uof A and mayor don surrounding canal park?...i don't remember...i know initially they were talking about Uof A being more involved with that somehow...
-
is this news?...we should have been surprised if UC in some way shape or form did NOT talk to him...
-
anybody else concerned that if the boondoggle soccer stadium sucks up dollars Uof A will get frozen out?...mayor Don is about to become part of Gov. Ted's transition team...for christmas sake bug the mayor...NOW...this thing is going to need state funding at some level...mayor Don can pull some dollars to Akron!
-
so when is this thing gonna get built?...mayor don loves building stadiums to 'revitalize' so bet the city will get behind this...and if mayor don becomes county executive don after mccarthy retires...who knows..anybody want to open a restaurant/bar?
-
how does the possibility of a new stadium fit in here?...might convince someone to stay...or someone to come here
