  1. There we go ...................... Size, speed .............. Film looks good !! Let's hope he c make an immediate impact!!!
  2. Thanks UA ..... He is excited to get going. I'm sure he will contribute. Solid technique guy, great pad level and leverage. He will take up blockers ....... Very high football IQ A bit of boasting but his high school team won their third straight state championship last night ..... Good way to close that high school career
  3. I like the concentration on WR's and DB's ...... I just hope we can get some size at those spots Interested as to the plan at OL ...... And QB
  4. No plan to look into any UAB transfers ............ Coach said that there were 2 WR's from Florida coming in today for official visits and they were working with 5 total kids from FLA.
  5. At 4-2 and having some nice momentum, there was no reason to lean on the freshmen (IMO) ...... Red shirting them was the right call. I personally agree with the red shirting as by the time we would have pulled the red shirts, maybe it would have help stop the bleeding, but most likely not and it would have been a wasted year of eligibility. Tough call ...... But it's in the rear view.
  6. I can understand your point and the utter frustration. It was frustrating for a rookie Zips The only question I would have is that after 6 games and a 4-2 record, it appeared that there was no reason to play these freshmen and a red shirt year was most certainly a good decision. Heck even at 4-4 and still in the hunt for the division, the decision was still a good one for the future (IMO) ..... There was no way that any of those freshmen would have saved the season As for the schedule next year, I haven't seen it so cannot really comment on the 5-7 or 4-8 scenario in your post. I just know that this miserable season is over and I actually do feel confident that we will be a better team next season. Again, I understand your comment of wanting to win and you veteran fans certainly deserve a winner.
  7. Pohl ......... Leader ......... Sorry, no way Period. ....... Verified here, he will not be the starting QB at Akron next year
  8. UA ............ Victor Salako would be a great pick up and there are a couple of young receivers with size that I would target This may be a topic of discussion tonite with Coach Stroud on his visit 77 Victor Salako Offensive Line 6-6 315 SO/1L Huntsville, Ala. (Grissom HS) http://www.hudl.com/...hlights/7307373 2 Jamari Staples Wide Receiver 6-4 190 SO/1L Lineville, Ala. (Central HS) ..... Nice size ..... another 20 lbs and he fits nicely. http://www.hudl.com/.../jamari-staples 11 Quincy Perdue Wide Receiver 6-3 210 FR/HS Marietta, Ga. (Lassiter HS) http://www.hudl.com/...lights/73491390 67 Chris Hudson Offensive Line 6-5 280 FR/HS Ocala, Fla. (West Port HS))
  9. Please elaborate ................ Not sure what the schedule has to do with developing the young recruits ? Thanks
  10. Shows (to me) a long term commitment to development and building for the future ............ I like it
  11. Awkward !!!!
  12. Depends on the day zippy !!! Thanks for the compliment
  13. http://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/news/2014/dec/09/buford-seniors-tyler-shipman-and-jordan-perlotte/
  14. Hopefully that is just the appetizer !!!!
  15. So is there any traction to this possibility or are we just hoping ? I cannot find any valid information of this possibility ...................... Although I sure hope I am wrong
  16. Posted on another topic but applies: Works for me. CUSA North: Toledo, UA, Ohio, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky. Hey, I would applaud that decline in travel from GA ...... Does everyone think that the AD could pull it off ? How much, if any, influence would Bowden have ? Not that he has truly earned it yet ..... Didn't know if he (or Dad) might have any inroads.
  17. Coaches are out on the road for sure ................. Coming through GA next week. Sure hope they are headed to Birmingham to see what they can pick up at UAB Anyone know if Coach Peterson has any close inroads left or did they clean house when Coach Clark came in after last season ? There are obviously kids there from the 2012 and 2013 classes when he was "tutoring" the O-line ?
  18. JUST WIN BABY !!!!
  19. I like Victor ,,,,,, For openers 77 Victor Salako Offensive Line 6-6 315 SO/1L Huntsville, Ala. (Grissom HS) http://www.hudl.com/athlete/654540/highlights/7307373 2 Jamari Staples Wide Receiver 6-4 190 SO/1L Lineville, Ala. (Central HS) ..... (Lassiter HS) http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1470942/highlights/73491390 67 Chris Hudson Offensive Line 6-5 280 FR/HS Ocala, Fla. (West Port HS)) Man I hope we are on this
  20. Pretty sad that with, what I believe is at least 8 schollies not committed, Akron was not mentioned in any of the ("makes senses") scenarios (unless I missed it ).............. I sure hope we have dispatched coaches and the staff is tearing up film to eval these kids ............... There is definitely talent on that team (Lot of metro ATL kids). Kids will probably have a nice chip on their shoulders also
  21. Boom ........... You beat me to the punch. I would be extremely disappointed if we have not been on the phone to inquire I count 24 seniors on the 2014 roster ........... I only see 2 O-lineman that are Seniors. I'm pretty sure we don't have 24 commits and transfers, unless I am missing something
  22. +1 on that one ....................
