I don't disagree with anything that you said. I fully believe Akron is the better team. There are teams with terrible schedules every single season. It is rare for those teams to have a 30 win season. Bad opponents or not, it is impressive to be able to go out every night and take care of business. Even the best Akron teams have one or two headscratchers every season. Once again, I still do not believe that Miami will win 30 games, but if they do I think they can pull an at large bid.

If Miami wins 30 games and loses in the conference championship, I think they get an at large. It's really hard to justify not letting a 30 win team in and Miami has been able to get enough media attention to drive a push to a bid. I still dont think they will win 30 games, but they are getting closer every day so who knows.

Other than being unconscious from 3 early, the Zips have not looked great on offense tonight. I feel like there has been a lot of miscommunication and weird turnovers that you usually don't see.

This team loses all ability to play about midway through the second half. So annoying

Well that sure hasn't happened. Scott misses an open shot and Lyles turns it over.

Lyles is getting fouled just about every time they go up for a rebound, but the refs have proven at this point that they aren't calling it. He needs to get mad and fight back more.

Steele is for sure John's brother. I've seen that exact technical with the same mannerism so many times from Groce.

Eh, 5-7 and 4-4 in conference is decent. It has been damn near a decade since Akron football has been decent. I'm certainly not in love with how this season went, but I'm not ready to run the coaching staff out of town.

UMASS is going to lose to Marshall who was picked 6th in the SBC preseason poll. Not a strong start to their MAC tenure.

JMU is certainly helping with our offensive struggles with all of these free throws.

Young is far and away the best player on this team.

Its obvious that Akron was mostly worried about JMU's big men. The guards are over-helping on D and getting caught down low way too much.

People keep talking about coaches having success and leaving as a bad thing. I dream of a young coach coming in, establishing a winning culture for a few years and moving on to success.

Wyoming is not a "name" school, they are a g5 team that was 3-9 last season and fans are not freaking out after one game, they are freaking out after well over a decade of pure futility from a program that is funneling money into a pit. Please do not be disingenuous in your comments. If the football team had put up a tying effort against a ranked team, this whole board would be doing cartwheels of joy.

I certainly wasn't as high on the Zips as some on this board, but I bought into the idea that we should at least match our 2024 win total and maybe fight for bowl eligibility (even though that doesn't actually matter this year). For me, it was mostly because I was excited to see what Finley could do in a second year in the system with what I believed were some quality (for the MAC) playmakers. I can't believe how bad the offense looked tonight. It is incredibly obvious that there is no trust in anyone except for Sean Patrick to make plays, with how much they were trying to force the ball to him, and he got hurt and was out of uniform for the whole second half. I'm also incredibly frustrated that the Zips brought in a new guy to pretend to be Tahj Bullock, which just means come in for a single play, an obvious QB run for 3 yards, and then leave again.

I agree. Summers and Cooper have seemed to have really stepped up to cover our losses in the lb corp.

Findley looks scared. He is hopping around on his drop backs and ducking on his throws.

Offense, outside of Patrick breaking some tackles, is looking rough.
